NOW A DAYS THEY ARE OFFERING "360 DEALS" I would LOVE for you to be my Manager/Label/ DAD!LOL .. 19:20 Yup giving them some good advice will definitively make the artist remember this? and will not take off at the first sign of $$$ off the chiain! Because "all money not good money" and they will stay....WRITE A SONG ABOUT IT... AND MAKE A HIT!😂
Ok, this is great. Do you talk anywhere about how you structure fees and costs for your record label services? I am definitely thinking of doing this, and I have several artists that I think I can help. But I want to make sure I'm charging them something that's reasonable, but also financially sound for the investment of my time and energy.
Question: You know a lot about the industry. Ad a composer of orchestral and movie soundtrack original material, would you have a preference in distributors, labels? Of course I know you are busy. I just thought it doesn't hurt to ask.
1-they give you huge advances until you bring your completed album recorded to them. 2-they promote you and distribute your music world wide. Another question?
Totally amazing most useful content. Am def signing up to to your channel and site What’s your artist name. I would love to hear and support your music.
What we call "metadata". They label records... Me personally am asking, "Is a record label something i want to do in addition". We got vinyl presses for the masses now, and other physical is half dead, with digital you need a distributor, is that a record label?
I'm seeing opportunity with alternative physical media releases + vinyl. Also giving away a download link within the data inside. It is quite easy to print vinyl as an independent, the blank costs less than 500, and a buck for the actual stamped vinyl. But yes then the distribution, as that'd rely on a digital storefront, or at merch booths. Amazon can be done solo...@@stevedamien638
What does a record label actually do...? : Distribution and possibly some promotion Gives unreasonable , creative process killing deadlines & recording time restrictions Does it's level best to try and swindle artists out of not only their publishing rights but low balls them on any Royalties the artist may be due as well. So, in short, do your best to stay independent. But if you do sign a record deal , you get to say that you "made it "
We always been saying to be “independent” for 10 years now. Since chance the rapper was living proof of independence. People today still sign. It depends on your goal. Do you want the fame and more opportunities? You choose a major record label. You just want to make money off of music, enough that you can live or do full time? Stay independent. However, the reality is that trying to be a full time musician and being independent is very, very hard. Only a small group of people are able to make music their living. I will leave it at that, there’s more that I can go on about.
