I thought Americans like slow and convoluted with a lot of Add Breaks? I mean NFL and College Gridiron is very popular and Union is getting slower and slower, some games at the world cup where going well over 2 hours to finish.

@@MusMasiGridiron has alot of Ad breaks. And is stop start play based. But the actual gameplay of plays is incredibly fast and exciting. Think of plays like watching a tik-tok or RU-vid shorts before taking a break, which suits the short attention span of the American market. Union on the other hand... well you have watched it. With much bigger players now than the amateur era Little room to break free and little field progress. Flopping straight on the ruck and caterpillars forming. Ball ping pong with kicking. Loads of knock ones and constant scrum resets, with a crooked feed uncontested boring scrum and mysterious scrum penalties that are hard to understand. The list goes on. It's just not that great to watch. And that's why outside of the 6N / WC, no in the UK rly watches club rugby. Union was a great sport to play during the amateur era and gave loads of different body types the ability to be in truly team based strength and grit sport. But in terms of watchability, its not there, which was the how the split into league happened in the first place. I think Union rly needs to do some soul searching and reform its rules to make it more digestible for a TV and live audience. Otherwise it is sadly pretty doomed as a consumer sport. I do think local club level though will never rly die.

What for this is America remember they don’t care much outside their own country bruh. If the yanks can’t get up for union that’s has a bigger global presence how they gonna play a World Cup? When the world revolves around then haha.

the difference the nrl has is the level of aggression and violence and speed of play is far more appealing to a US audience

It doesn't matter league has to lay the ground work like soccer and rugby has over the years in the US market through college, club etc and both codes already have established domestic competitions there in major league rugby and major league soccer. The Allblacks alone have already sold out NFL stadium soilder field twice etc and Rugby still working hard on growing their game there and their game like soccer are both awesome games. So NRL can't just banked on thinking their game is the best everyone is gonna like it because every sport goes there with the same wishful thinking takes years laying in ground work in America before they take it seriously

@@magicheats8291 I agree. My point is League has more of a chance to succeed faster than boring soccer. It was a bad example. Personally, I hate the Vegas experiment. If anything, they will use league as their nursery, which might dilute our product. Careful what one wishes for.

@@Youstabemweslabemare you high? theres already the MLS over there and the worlds best soccer is playing there in Messi. Rugby League is a niche sport it will take years for them to crack the market

Luckily the NFL is during the opposite season as NRL.

Mate couldn't agree more they are all fucking delusional to think that they can take on NfL, literally can't even fill half the stadium. AFL eats them up for breakfast.
