They never really address the brothers' hair color in the anime so this is a minor spoiler. Their parents are from different ethnic groups. The dad had black hair and black eyes and the mom had red hair and red eyes. So the brothers both got a different combo of genes for hair and eye color. The light novels really like to go into the details of different ethnic groups being represented by different eye and hair colors.
