Why does this remind of elementary teachers? Like the way she explained things easily with an example that's also very clear to understand with a very cheerful manner
I was just thinking of this earlier and thinking I need to Google it. Found this b4 I googled it lol. Thanks love your videos. I'm a crazy plant lady but I'm just kinda faking it til I make it and so far so good with all my plant babies, but I'm still learning.
The way you just pick up the toy and throw it speaks volumes about the person you are. My late father used to tell me you can tell a person's character by how they treat their animals and children.
Thank you for helping educate me. I have just discovered my LOVE for plants. (Just have 2 babies so far) but I love learning from you, you make me feel more confident about not killing everything I touch❤😂
THANK YOU, KRYSTAL! I have struggled with what bright indirect sunlight was! I have quite a few plants that like the light like that and I was like what do they mean and where do I put them!! Well, now I know. Thank you so much! I understand now!! You should teach plant classes! That would be great! 😊💚🪴
You playing fetch with ur dog at the end was so wholesome, also I'm so glad to have found ur channel, I wasn't much of a green thumb before but I always wanted plants in and around my home, so thank you for all the helpful tips
I can see how someone would make that mistake. If you’re not familiar with the word “indirect”, it would be easy to understand it as “in direct”. “In direct light” = directly in the sunlight “Indirect light” = NOT directly in the sunlight
I feel you! I thought indirect light inside, meant to place the plant under a bright window, cuz direct light to me, meant outside DIRECTY under the sun.
I mean, you can technically grow lower light plants in direct light, it just requires more maintenance than indirect. Photosynthesis is kind of like exercise. It's healthy for you, but it's bad for you without the proper nutritional foundation. You can't expect to run a marathon when you're only drinking 3 cups of water a day and eating pizza for dinner- You can get away with it if you aren't particularly active, but if you're taking work-outs seriously, then you need better quality foods that have more of what you need, and you need to train up to it before you can handle it. It's the same thing with plants. Houseplants in direct sun will die because typical potting mixes and fertilisers don't have everything that a plant needs to live in an area that gets many hours of direct sun. In my case, I water quite frequently, fertilise my plants every time I water, and I use compost-based mixes that have high levels of nutrition. This allows me to grow typically low-light plants in high light areas- My peace lily, in summer, gets around 3 hours of direct sun. In winter, it's currently getting about an hour of direct sun, as I've moved it closer to the window. And that's with just your normal fertiliser. There are more specialised fertilisers that include bio-stimulents such as silica, formic acid and vitamin a that allow your plants to better absorb nutrients and stops them from stressing out as much. These allow your indoor plants to handle significantly more hours of direct light, if you felt the need to. Just thought I'd throw that out there. People tend to spread the misconception that tropical plants will die in direct sun, when that's not entirely true. The direct sun in our house is darker than the shaded canopies of the tropics, it's just that our plants don't have the available resources to grow in their natural lighting conditions.
Ugh thank you this always confused me. I’ve had three orchids on my windowsill with the blinds open everyday. Thinking that the window made it “indirect” light. Gosh I have so much to learn. Can’t wait to learn it all!
I work for the floral department at uh Mafeway and they do not teach us s****about how to care for anything. This is the only way I am getting for plants. Thank-you
I've been wanting to get a plant for years now. Ive tried here and there but they die amd id give up. Your videos make me think I might finally step out there again.
Thank you! 😊 even though I'm an adult I still need elementary school teaching 🙃! Love you! ❤️ if my plants could ✍️, I'd make them send you thank you 📝!
I bought some, "Superbells," / Petunias, recently - they're dead now, but, the care card said, "I love the HEAT & direct sunlight!!!" Even though they were sold in, Phoenix, something tells me - maybe their burnt leaves - that it's not, Phoenix, Arizona heat, they love.
Lol I'm in the hottest part of AZ and I feel ya. Nothing but weeds, cacti, and some succulents like Arizona heat. Lmfao idc if they say love bright light and heat unless they say pruned by the devil himself then they're gonna die in AZ
i really appreciate this video! My daughter just brought home a spider plant for me for mothers day and i wasnt sure how to care for it. Google said "indirect sunlight" but i still wasnt 100% sure what that meant. Now the plant might have a chance at survival.
I needed this like 2 months ago when I bought my peace lily that died on me ☹️ I googled so much on the differences but no clear explanation like this one.
How do you get these different specific light requirements for small plants on shelves? I have strip grow lights but I think the light is too strong for some of my plants. Hopefully someone here has some experience with this and can give myself and anyone else with this issue some helpful advice. 😌
Why does my plants prefer indirect light over my LED grow lights, are we missing some colors in the spectrum or something else? All my plant leaves rather lick the window on a cloudy day and turns back to the grow light when the sun is down behind the clouds, or just to dark outside.
So for indirect, you’re in the shade and can see the sun?? I’m so confused! 😫 do you mean like the sunlight/rays? So if your plant is in a sunny spot but not directly in the sun then that’s indirect?
What if my house only has no light or bright direct light 😂 ALL my plants are IN the sun in the windows otherwise it's too dark and they don't grow at all
I dont get it.. if i see the sun, the sun always see me. If i go in the shade. You say you can see the sun? I cant see the sun in the shade. If i go outside of the shade, i see the sun and the sun sees me. Its not possible for the sun not to see me when i see the sun.. im so lost
If you are in the shade, the sun is not in your face (the sun cannot see you). But if you walk around in the shade, you can find the sun and see it. You are still in the shade mostly. It is also called filtered sunlight.
