@@talmideiyhwh The video has a full explanation but doesn't mean he is correct. Scripture proves that Elohym (אלוהים) is the Father 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 and His Son 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏. 1 Corinthians 8:6 "for us there is one Elohim, the Father, from whom all came and for whom we live, and one Master 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏 Messiah, through whom all came and through whom we live." Proverbs 8:22 “יהוה possessed me, The beginning of His way, As the first of His works of old." 23 “I was set up ages ago, at the first, Before the earth ever was." 24“When there were no depths I was brought forth, When there were no springs heavy with water." 25 “Before mountains were sunk, Before the hills, I was brought forth," 26“Before He had made the earth and the fields, Or the first dust of the world." 27“When He prepared the heavens, I was there, When He decreed a vault on the face of the deep," 28“When He set the clouds above, When He made the fountains of the deep strong," 29“When He gave to the sea its limit, So that the waters would not transgress His command, When He decreed the foundations of the earth," 30“Then I was beside Him, a master workman, And I was His delight, day by day Rejoicing before Him all the time," John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim." 2 "He was in the beginning with Elohim." 3 "All came to be through Him, and without Him not even one came to be that came to be." The Father 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, created all things through His Son 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏; Hebrews 1:2 "has in these last days spoken to us by the Son, whom He has appointed heir of all, through whom also He made the ages," Ephesians 3:9 "and to make all see how this secret is administered, which for ages past has been hidden in Elohim who created all through 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏 Messiah,"

@@talmideiyhwh Yet your video is about saying that אלוהים (Elohym) means a singular word and not as Scripture explains that the אלוהים in Genesis ch 1 (בראשית) is both the Father 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 and His Son 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏. There are multiple verses through out Scripture proving that the 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏 HaMachiach was with the Father 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 in creation and that it was the Father who created all things, but through the First of all creation, the Heir and Great Prince 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏. It is only in Judaism that אלוהים (Elohym) means a singular title for יהוה, Not Scripture. 1 Corinthians 8:6 "for us there is one Elohim, the Father, from whom all came and for whom we live, AND one Master יהושע Messiah, through whom all came and through whom we live." Proverbs 8:22 “יהוה possessed me, The beginning of His way, As the first of His works of old. 23“I was set up ages ago, at the first, Before the earth ever was. 24“When there were no depths I was brought forth, When there were no springs heavy with water. 25“Before mountains were sunk, Before the hills, I was brought forth, 26“Before He had made the earth and the fields, Or the first dust of the world. 27“When He prepared the heavens, I was there, When He decreed a vault on the face of the deep, 28“When He set the clouds above, When He made the fountains of the deep strong, 29“When He gave to the sea its limit, So that the waters would not transgress His command, When He decreed the foundations of the earth, 30“Then I was beside Him, a master workman, And I was His delight, day by day Rejoicing before Him all the time, Hebrews 1:2 "has in these last days spoken to us by the Son, whom He has appointed heir of all, THROUGH WHOM ALSO HE MADE THE AGES," Ephesians 3:9 "and to make all see how this secret is administered, which for ages past has been HIDDEN in Elohim WHO CREATED ALL THROUGH יהושע Messiah," According to the Word of TRUTH אלוהים in Genesis ch 1 is a plural word and is both The Father 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 and His Son 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏, they are not a Trinity and they are not the same. The Father is uncreated and is the Most High and Greater then His Son 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏 who is the First-Born of all creation and heir to His Father’s Kingdom.

The Father is greater then His Son and the Father is who created all things, through His Son and heir to His Kingdom. 1 Corinthians 8:6 "for us there is one Elohim, the Father, from whom all came and for whom we live, AND one Master יהושע Messiah, THROUGH whom all came and through whom we live." Thank you so much brother! You've enlightened me upon the true meaning of אֱלֹהִים and strengthened my faith in יהוה, but I must ask, are you a traditional Jewish believer as in you only believe in the "Old Testament", refraining from the "New Testament" or do you believe that Jesus is Lord? I'm also happy to answer the questions you posed which I would summarize or restate this way: 1. Do I believe in Jesus? 2. What texts do believe are revealed by יהוה? I have a 7 part series on the difference between the Hebrew Mashiach and the Christian Messiah. In this series I go through verses in the TANAK and also in what I refer to as the Greek Text ("New Testament") in order to present clear and step-by-step evidence to help people see the truth on this topic. In fact, part 1 of that series provides exhaustive proof that יהוה YHWH is the only Elohim of Yisrael and that in truth there is no Elohim besides יהוה YHWH. I'm looking for more information about the difference in the Hebrew text at 1:09 and 11:48 and 16:31. The letter "He" has different notation beneath and above it, respectively. By notation I mean the "dots" above and below. Is there an elaboration on this difference that you could provide? Your input would be enlightening and appreciated. Thank you so much.

Shalom and thanks for your question. The difference you are noticing are the diacritical markings known in English as "tropes" and in Hebrew as טעמים (adornments, lit. tastes). These markings were added to the text by the Masoretes to preserve the traditional way the text was vocalized and chanted and are clear indications of the grammar for the text. jewishencyclopedia.com/articles/718-accents-musical-value-of en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hebrew_cantillation When Torah is read, it should be read with the trope to understand the grammar correctly. Thank you for this insight. So, the suffix eem can be either a plural or a descriptor of a superlative. Is there any other example in ancient Hebrew of this latter use of the suffix in any word? While I understand the desire to argue in support of our own beliefs, there is at least an argument that the use of the plural noun with a singular verb is an early reference to the LORD (singular) comprising a trinity of persons in one God. See also Genesis 1:26. As the prophets said "I am just saying". God Bless!
@talmideiyhwh
@talmideiyhwh 2 месяца назад
Shalom and thanks for your question. Yes, there are other examples. As I pointed out in the video, when the Israelites made the golden calf, they only made one golden calf, but Aaron used the word Elohim to refer to it: "And he received the gold at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, and made a molten calf; and they said, 'These are your [elohim], O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt!'" Here's a good online resource that goes into this feature of Hebrew in depth: uhg.readthedocs.io/en/latest/number_plural.html

Thanks for your comment. Though at times making comparisons such as you suggest where you are thinking of Elohim as a title can be helpful, but in this case, I suggest we simply embrace the Hebrew usage and drop any such comparisons. Titles are usually used before a name, ie: President Biden; Commissioner Braden. Elohim is not used this way. Elohim means "the strongest revealed authority." If we simply think of its meaning whenever we read it, the Hebrew text will make more sense. Moreover, יהוה is the only true Elohim.

How did you arrive at Yehovah (Yehowah)? Isn't this erroneous? Taking the vowel set from Adonai and adding to YAHWEH?
@talmideiyhwh
@talmideiyhwh Год назад
The vowel markings in the Masoretic text preserve the traditional way every word should be pronounced, including the Shem, name, of the creator. They didn’t use the vowels of Adonai. That is a false narrative meant to keep people from knowing the truth. Look at the text and see for yourself. The vowels for Adonai start with the “ah” sound, not the sound for the shewa under the yod. Here is how it appears: יְהֹוָֽה phonetically: Yehowah

What version of the holy scriptures do you read?
@talmideiyhwh
@talmideiyhwh Год назад
Thanks for your question about what version of the scriptures I read. I do not rely on any version but instead I focus on the original Hebrew text. The Hebrew text is the basis, the foundation, from which translators create various versions. The versions exist because translations are always subject to interpretation as many concepts do not translate correctly word for word. As a result, all translations represent the translators interpretation and in many cases misinterpretation based on previously held beliefs and biases. In the past, readers who didn't read Hebrew were limited to printed versions based on translations of the Hebrew text. Now that many versions are available online, it is much easier for readers to now compare translations and even use interlinear translations which make the Hebrew text much more accessible for study. One tool I use often for this is the www.blueletterbible.org/ However, the best way to get at the original intent and meaning of the Hebrew text is to learn to read and understand the Hebrew. Then you can read the Hebrew for yourself and understand what is being said in its full textual context. I should also point out, that in addition to textual and linguistic context, additional understanding is added from understanding the historical and cultural context in which the text was written.

As a Christian, yet non-Trinitarian, it took me several attempts to find this channel after having to bypass a few Trinitarians trying to dissect Elohim in a way to come up with Father, Son, & Holy Spirit in the lettering. Do you recommend sticking to learning strictly the ancient Hebrew text as opposed to modern Hebrew which I believe is a later Aramaic text? My goal is to be able to simply read & understand the Torah in Hebrew. Really appreciate your teaching. I haven’t come across anyone who really explains this as well
@talmideiyhwh
@talmideiyhwh Год назад
Shalom and thanks for your question. Let me answer your question in two parts. First I will talk about the script of the text. Then I will address the value of learning modern Hebrew and Biblical Hebrew. As I believe you already know, the Torah was originally written with a pictographic script. Over time, the Israelites began to modify the way they drew each letter and the script evolved to what we may call Paleolithic script. Even though the symbols were drawn differently, the consonants still carried the same meaning and represented the same sounds. After the Babylonian captivity, many of the Israelites began using the Aramaic or Babylonian script which became the main script up to our time today and the Torah or TANAKs published today use this modern script, the same script used in modern Hebrew. I have an app on my phone that allows me to change the script I'm using of the TANAK to "Proto Canaanite" and this script is very close to the pictographic script found on most of the ancient relics, but there are some variances in the symbols used for some letters. I say all of this to make one point: You can use the TANAKs available today--written in the modern Hebrew script and still get at the ancient pictographic meaning of any word you are studying once you know what pictographs to associate with each of the 22 consonants. (please see www.ancient-hebrew.org/). With a goal of being able to read the Hebrew text and understand it, I would encourage you to study both Biblical and Modern Hebrew. Modern Hebrew has its roots and Biblical Hebrew and can be used to help you get a functional knowledge of the language which you will find very helpful in understanding the TANAK. Shalom, Shalom

Imagine if everyone started with the basic, common sense, understanding that the Bible begins in Genesis, not John, that it begins in ancient Hebrew, not English or Greek? This is why the world of religion & Christianity is so out of control. But I believe our “Strongest Revealed Authority” (LORD/YHVH) is in the process of uncovering what has been “buried underneath” & using those like yourself to do so. Thanks again.

I think Trinitarians get stuck on the word echad (one) when it comes to "the two became one flesh." Here we see the number two and the number one. In Hebrew echad is the number one when counting one, two, three. When Elohim took one (echad) of Adam's ribs to make Eve, it shows again there. Could the union of Adam and Eve as husband and wife becoming echad mean they would have a child (one flesh)? If you have a video on this, I would love to learn more.
@talmideiyhwh
@talmideiyhwh 3 месяца назад
Shalom @adeliawilliams4884 and thanks for your comment. I do believe the idea of becoming one (echad) flesh speaks to the children they would have where 2 literally become one. This is not to take away from the idea of the union a husband and wife share which is another way in which they are united and should function as one flesh. The text is open enough to speak to both thoughts: וְהָי֖וּ לְבָשָׂ֥ר אֶחָֽד "and they shall be one flesh"

I can't get past the plural form of Elohim also a plural verb later used. Additionally, the Hebrew culture is a derivative of the earlier polytheistic Mesopotamian cultures. Thus, Elohim could still be considered a polytheistic form as written in context but in a way that is ordered in power (from highest to least) and structured within the heavens - a cast system if you will. A top down governance in the heavens. Another question to address, is can a singular "the strongest authority revealed" Elohim be the only creator of the heavens and the earth? Is one Eloah enough to do all the work of creation etc. by itself - a lone wolf - a lonely existence - a one creator that creates itself into existence?
@talmideiyhwh

Shalom and thanks for you question. I realize it may be hard for us today to understand the intent of the ancient Hebrew text because we are so far removed from the linguistic, cultural and historical context. However, our goal is to do just that, to understand what יהוה YHWH actually revealed. From the revelation, the text spoke by יהוה YHWH and written by Mosheh, we know all human beings came from Adam. The first language was actually Ivrith (Hebrew), and Hebrew culture didn't derive from polytheistic Mesopotamia, it was the continuation of the culture of the family of Adam as it descended from the beginning through the line of Sheth, through Noach, and continued down through the seed of Avraham, Yitzchak and Ya'acov. Our aim on this channel is to help viewers understand the text as it was revealed. To help shed light on the historical, linguistic and cultural context so that we can understand the actual text apart from the ideas of men. As to who created all that exists, the clearest revelation, that which was written in stone, part of the 10 D'varim "matters" says this: "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. ... For in six days יהוה YHWH made the heavens and the earth, the sea and everything that is in them, and He rested on the seventh day; for that reason יהוה YHWH blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy." (Exodus 20:8, 11 NASB20)

@@talmideiyhwh How do you know without a doubt that the Hebrew nation did not come after the Mesopotamian cultures? When I read the Torah it seems in context to read after the facts of the events happened meaning that its stories are a collection of ideals past by oral tradition through ancient times and peoples and then put into poetic narratives by the elite Hebrews. The stronger system writes the history. I don't take the Bible literally nor chronologically either so saying Adam is the first man on Earth as a Hebrew makes absolute non-sense to me.

Shalom and thanks for your follow up question and comment. One of the greatest miracles we are blessed with is the ability to choose, the power to make choices. Humans can choose to believe things. That being said, I choose to believe יהוה revealed the Torah to Mosheh and that Mosheh wrote down the words of יהוה YHWH as they were revealed. From that perspective, I therefore believe Adam was the first human being and that all humans are descendants of Adam and his wife Hawah (incorrectly called "Eve"). The fact that the revelation to Yisrael took place let's say, only around 1300 BCE and there were many nations that already had recorded history prior to this doesn't in any way preclude or contradict the fact that יהוה revealed to Mosheh all of the historical narrative we read in the book of Breshith "Genesis" starting from Adam. I firmly believe anyone who enters into a covenant relationship with יהוה must start by accepting the Torah as revelation, especially the Sefer HaBrith. These are the words we are committing ourselves to live by. I encourage anyone who wants to better understand the Torah from this perspective to watch the full series on "The Key to Understanding the Word of Yah" (ru-vid.com/group/PL5-KXjji64_tDPR5MY6jSN3kwd9VcLHNx)

Why isn't it Alohim instead of Elohim when it starts with an aleph?
@talmideiyhwh
@talmideiyhwh Год назад
Thanks for your question as to why the Hebrew letter א (Aleph) is pronounced as "Eh" in the Hebrew word אלהים "Elohim" and not as "Ah." The reason is that in both ancient and modern Hebrew the letter Aleph represented a glottal stop. As such this letter does not provide its own vocalization, rather it indicates the presence of a vowel and hence Aleph always takes the sound of its associated vowel. In the case of the Hebrew word אלהים "Elohim," it is vowel marked in the masoretic text as: אֱלֹהִים You will notice that the א (Aleph) has the Chataf Segol vowel which makes the sound of "Eh" resulting in the pronunciation as "Elohim." To further clarify this point, take the word אור (ohr) as used in Breshith 1:3 "וַיֹּ֥אמֶר אֱלֹהִ֖ים יְהִ֣י א֑וֹר וַֽיְהִי־אֽוֹר׃" The word אור means light. It should be obvious that her the Aleph takes the sound of the vowel Cholam and hence is pronounced as "oh" in this word. To fully grasp how the language sounds, I encourage you to begin learning Hebrew. By learning the language, you will begin to understand how the consonants and vowels work and sound. Here's a link that you may also find helpful as you study this topic. Shalom, shalom. omniglot.com/writing/hebrew.htm en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biblical_Hebrew#Consonants

Psa 82:1 [[A Psalm of Asaph.]] God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods. How would you translate this its 'ĕlōhîm(God) standeth in the congregation of ēl (Mighty); he judgeth among the 'ĕlōhîm (gods)
@talmideiyhwh
@talmideiyhwh 9 месяцев назад
Thanks for your question on how this verse should be translated. One of the main points I'm making is that to best understand the text, we need to return to the language it was written in. At a minimum, we must recognize that the word "god" is not a translation of Elohim or El, but a substitute and that "god" is literally an idol, a Hebrew word that means "fortune." So instead of inserting the substitution, just leave the Hebrew for Elohim and El. "Elohim stands in the congregation of El; he judges among the elohim." Now, what was meant by Asaph, the writer of this song (mizmor)? When you understand that the Hebrew word EL means the strong authority, and Elohim similarly means the strongest revealed authority, you begin to understand that these words were used in common parlance for whomever a person or community held as the authority. Hence you will find some translators using the word judge and judges as a possible translation of Elohim because human judges were in a role of being in authority over others. That's why in verses 6 and 7 it says that though you are elohim (judges) you will die like men. These human elohim will die like men because they have not judged righteous judgement. Asaph wasn't equating these humans who sat in authority with YHWH the only true Elohim. Instead, he used the word elohim to refer to humans who were a position of authority and who should have used that position correctly. Finally, I encourage you to watch the series on the "Key to understanding the word of Yah." ( ru-vid.com/group/PL5-KXjji64_tDPR5MY6jSN3kwd9VcLHNx ) In this series you will learn to view and understand the TANAK from the most solid and clear revelation, the 10 D'varim and the Sefer Habrith (Book of the Covenant). These foundational words provide the light by wich we may understand the other books that were later written, including the Tehillim (Psalms).

@@talmideiyhwh thank you so much! I spent so much time trying to understand and this helps a lot ;) on thing i noticed is that in Genesis 1 its Elohim throughout. In Genesis 2:4 the text uses Yᵊhōvâ Elohim. Any thoughts on why the difference?

@talmideiyhwh 9 месяцев назад
@merc7511 Thanks for your follow up question on why B'reshith "Genesis" chapter one uses אלוהים Elohim throughout as opposed to what we see starting in chapter 2:4 where we see the use of יהוה אלוהים. Let me also point out, that the chapter divisions we see in modern Bibles, including the book of B'reshith, were not part of the original manuscripts. The current chapter divisions were introduced by Stephen Langton, an English cardinal who later became the Archbishop of Canterbury. He introduced these divisions in the early 13th century. So in fact, when we read B'reshith, the first complete section actually ends in what we now consider chapter 2:3. B'reshith 1:1 - 2:3 (Section 1) is a highly structured account of creation, with a repetitive and rhythmic style. The consistent use of "Elohim" serves a literary purpose, reinforcing the rhythm and structure of the narrative. 1. **Repetitive Phrases**: B'reshith 1 is characterized by its repetitive phrases, such as "And Elohim said," "Let there be," "And it was so," "Elohim saw that it was good," and "There was evening, and there was morning." These repetitions create a rhythmic pattern that structures the narrative, making it easier to follow and remember. 2. **Seven-Day Framework**: The narrative is structured around a seven-day framework, with each day corresponding to specific acts of creation. This structure not only provides a clear and organized account of creation but also imbues the narrative with a sense of completeness and perfection, as the number seven often symbolizes in TANAK literature. 3. **Use of "Elohim"**: The consistent use of "Elohim" throughout B'reshith 1 reinforces this structured and rhythmic style. Just as the repetitive phrases and the seven-day framework provide a sense of order and rhythm, the consistent use of "Elohim" contributes to this effect. It offers a sense of continuity and consistency throughout the narrative. 4. **Contrast with B'reshith 2**: The style of B'reshith 1 is markedly different from that of B'reshith 2. While B'reshith 1 is structured, rhythmic, and somewhat formal, B'reshith 2 is more narrative and descriptive, focusing on the intimate details of the creation of humanity and the Garden of Eden. The shift from "Elohim" in B'reshith 1 to "YHWH" (often combined as "YHWH Elohim") in B'reshith 2 mirrors this change in style and emphasis. In conclusion, the literary style and structure of B'reshith 1 are deliberate and purposeful. The use of "Elohim" throughout this chapter is part of this literary design, contributing to the rhythmic and organized presentation of the creation account. It underscores the majesty and authority of Elohim as the Creator and Sustainer of the universe.

- Yirmeyahu 8:8 reads as follows: אֵיכָ֤ה תֹֽאמְרוּ֙ חֲכָמִ֣ים אֲנַ֔חְנוּ וְתֹורַ֥ת יְהוָ֖ה אִתָּ֑נוּ אָכֵן֙ הִנֵּ֣ה לַשֶּׁ֣קֶר עָשָׂ֔ה עֵ֖ט שֶׁ֥קֶר סֹפְרִֽים׃ "How do you say, ‘We are wise, and the Torah of יהוה is with us’? But look, the false pen of the scribe has worked falsehood." www.bible.com/bible/316/JER.8.8.TS2009 I'm not exactly sure what you mean by saying this verse says different. This verse is in no way contrary to the comment above stating that Torah is the teaching spoken by YHWH and recorded by the hand of Mosheh. Yirmeyahu isn't taking issue with the Torah written by the hand of Mosheh but rather with the teachings of the prophets of his time who were leading the people astray. Notice verse 9: הֹבִ֣ישׁוּ חֲכָמִ֔ים חַ֖תּוּ וַיִּלָּכֵ֑דוּ הִנֵּ֤ה בִדְבַר־יְהוָה֙ מָאָ֔סוּ וְחָכְמַֽת־מֶ֖ה לָהֶֽם׃ "The wise shall be put to shame, they shall be broken down and caught. See, they have rejected the word of יהוה, so what wisdom do they have?" What word of יהוה did they reject? The very word written by Mosheh. How did they reject it? Read the whole book of Yirmeyahu to get the complete picture, but let me stress a few verses from the previous chapter that provide context, and also from earlier in chapter 8. Note, chapter 7 was written after the Northern Kingdom had been destroyed because of apostasy, breaking all of YHWH's commandments and worshiping foreign elohim. Now more than 100 years later, the southern Kingdom of Yehudah was about to be destroyed for the same reasons. Yirmeyahu was sent to warn them. He wrote: "The word that came to Yirmeyahu from יהוה, saying, 'Stand in the gate of the House of יהוה, and you shall proclaim there this word, and shall say, "Hear the word of יהוה, all you of Yehuḏah who enter in at these gates to bow before יהוה!"' Thus said יהוה of hosts, the Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, 'Make your ways and your deeds good, then I let you dwell in this place.'" (Yirmeyahu 7:1-3 TS2009) YHWH is making it clear that the only way to avoid being expelled from the land of Yisrael was for the people to change their ways. He warns them not to take comfort in the fact that they have the temple of YHWH. He was warning that the temple could be destroyed, and of course we know now that it was destroyed because the people didn't heed the warning of Yirmeyahu. "Do not trust in deceptive words, saying, 'This is the temple of YHWH, the temple of YHWH, the temple of YHWH.'" (Yirmeyahu 7:4 NASB20) The deceptive words were the words of the false prophets and leaders saying the Kingdom of Yehudah would be safe because of the temple and saying it was okay to continue worshiping idols and living contrary to the ways outlined by YHWH in Torah. Yirmeyahu went on to explain: "For if you truly amend your ways and your deeds, if you truly practice justice between a person and his neighbor, [if] you do not oppress the stranger, the orphan, or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, nor follow other elohim to your own ruin, then I will let you live in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers forever and ever." (Yirmeyahu 7:5-7 NASB20) Notice what Yirmeyahu called out. He called out injustice, oppression, and idol worship--worshiping other elohim instead of worshiping YHWH as the only Elohim. The more you read of this context, the more clear it becomes. Yiremeyahu continues: "Behold, you are trusting in deceptive words to no avail. Will you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, offer sacrifices to Baal, and follow other elohim that you have not known, then come and stand before Me in this house which is called by My name, and say, 'We are saved!'--so that you may do all these abominations? Has this house, which is called by My name, become a den of robbers in your sight? Behold, I Myself have seen [it,]" declares YHWH. "But go now to My place which was in Shiloh, where I made My name dwell at the beginning, and see what I did to it because of the wickedness of My people Israel. And now, because you have done all these things, declares YHWH, and I spoke to you, speaking again and again, but you did not listen, and I called you but you did not answer, therefore I will do to the house which is called by My name, in which you trust, and to the place which I gave you and your fathers, just as I did to Shiloh. I will hurl you out of My sight, just as I have hurled out all your brothers, all the descendants of Ephraim." (Yirmeyahu 7:8-15 NASB20) So when we get to chapter 8, we are not talking about a different topic. Yirmeyahu is continuing to prophesy of the destruction of Yerushalayim and the temple. He says, "You shall say to them, 'This is what YHWH says: Do [people] fall and not get up? Does one turn away and not repent? Why has this people, Jerusalem, Turned away in continual apostasy? They hold on to deceit, They refuse to return.'" (Yirmeyahu 8:4-5 NASB20) The problem then is very similar to the problem now. People don't want to repent. People don't want to change even when they are shown that their ways are wrong. On this channel we are aiming to show people what the Ivrith (Hebrew) word Elohim means and how "God" is not a translation but instead a substitution, an idol of the ancient world brought forward in English translations that has many people fooled. If you are genuinely interested in Torah, the instructions and covenant YHWH made with Yisrael and want to join yourself to YHWH and keep his covenant, than you can find answers here to help you in the return. If not, this channel may not be for you.

@talmideiyhwh 7 месяцев назад
Shalom, and thanks for your comment. The Ivrith (Hebrew) of D'varim "Deuteronomy" 32:8-10 doesn't use the word "Elohim" אלהים. (D'varim Deuteronomy 32:8-10 WLC) Nevertheless, I agree with the point you are making. In some cases, Elohim is used as a plural word as in this verse: "וְעָבַרְתִּ֣י בְאֶֽרֶץ־מִצְרַיִם֮ בַּלַּ֣יְלָה הַזֶּה֒ וְהִכֵּיתִ֤י כָל־בְּכֹור֙ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם מֵאָדָ֖ם וְעַד־בְּהֵמָ֑ה וּבְכָל־אֱלֹהֵ֥י מִצְרַ֛יִם אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֥ה שְׁפָטִ֖ים אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה׃" (Sh'moth "Exodus" 12:12 WLC) "'For I will go through the land of Egypt on that night, and fatally strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the human [firstborn] to animals; and against all the elohim of Egypt I will execute judgments--I am יהוה." (Sh'moth "Exodus" 12:12 NASB20) The point I'm making in my video is that the use of the "-eem" ים ending doesn't always signify plural even though in most cases that's exactly what it means. We know how many elohim we are referring to only by context. Just like in English, the word fish when used in the singular or in the plural takes the same form. I can speak of one fish or 15 fish and in both cases my use of the word fish is correct grammatically. Hence, as noted above, the word "elohim" as noted in the Sh'moth 12:12 refers to all the elohim of Egypt, that would mean elohim here is plural. But likewise, when YHWH יהוה spoke the words of the 10 Matters, and said, "I am יהוה your Elohim, ..." (אָֽנֹכִ֖י יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֑יךָ)(Sh'moth "Exodus" 20:2 NASB20) here Elohim is used in the singular as clearly understood by the use of "I am" and not "we are." With regards to the puzzle on the table behind me, indeed, it was a jigsaw puzzle. Lots of fun and during the pandemic, we did a lot of them. Thanks again for your comment and for watching. Shalom, Shalom,

I understand it this way. When Elohim said "let us make man in our image, after our likeness", he meant after the likeness of his government. The strongest revealed authority is in charge of many authorities, therefore he wanted men to be under his authority. It's not just that we bare the image of Jehovah, but also that we should be part of His government.

Thanks for your comment. From the context, we see that Elohim made all the animals after their own kind, "[Elohim] made the animals of the earth according to their kind, and the livestock according to their kind, and everything that crawls on the ground according to its kind; and [Elohim] saw that it was good." (Breshith 1:25 NASB20) In contrast, he said, "Let Us make mankind in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the livestock and over all the earth, and over every crawling thing that crawls on the earth." (Breshith 1:26 NASB20) So indeed, the context supports your point that like Elohim, mankind is to be under Elohim's authority but to also have authority over the animals He created. But most importantly, mankind is not like the animal kind, but like Elohim in a way that no other created beings are, not even the angels. Only mankind has the ability to be like Elohim--to choose to live His way of life. This grand purpose is summarized here: "You shall keep My Sabbaths and revere My sanctuary; I am יהוה YHWH. If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments so as to carry them out, ... I will make My dwelling among you, and My soul will not reject you. I will also walk among you and be your Elohim, and you shall be My people. I am יהוה YHWH your Elohim, who brought you out of the land of Mitzrayim so that [you] would not be their slaves, and I broke your yoke and made you walk erect." Many scholars bring out the pantheon/council of the gods aspect (the elohim; the annunaki; the titans; the olympians, etc.) You didn't mention this pantheon/council aspect (the elohim), such as in DSS Dt 32:8 Hashem is given Israel while the other elohim are given other nations/peoples. The singular verb used in chapter 1 of Genesis, could be conveying that during Creation, all the Elohim (all 70 of them, as per DSS, Dt 32:8) were of one mind. The Elohim could be the 'children of elohim'-- the Father (the most high of the elohim) being El/El Elyon/Elyon-- see Melchizedek, Priest of the most high/elyon; and see beg. ch 6 Gen.; and see DSS, Deut. 32:8)-- the pantheon/council. The one place that supports your view is in Kings, I think, where they say, Hashem hoo Haelohim! Hashem hoo Haelohim! But it could be taken as that Hashem is THE Elohim, as in, he is the man / d'man! who would eventually take over as the greatest of the elohim, the head or most high of the pantheon/council (see Job ch.1) This is a vital subject, and one's faith can be tested here, but I pray to Hashem to graciously grant me da'at on this matter because wouldn't it have been much better to just use eloha (sing.) and not elohim? (pl.)

@talmideiyhwh Год назад
Shalom and thanks for your comment. As my series brings out, there is no "pantheon/council" in Hebrew thought. Think about it, just to express the idea you have, even the word you chose to describe this "pantheon" is based on the Greek idols "Pan" and "Theos" both idols worshipped by the Greeks and those who follow their line or reasoning. In other words, this idea is not a Hebrew idea but a Greek concept. I've laid out the evidence, but the truth is consistent in the Torah. As I mention in my series on the Key to Understanding the Word of Yah, the clearest revelation is the 10 Matters עשרת הדברים. There you find this: “I [am] יהוה [YHWH] your [Elohim], who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other [elohim] before Me” (Sh’moth,5 Exodus, 20:2-3). Notice the commandments start with the words “I am Y’howah” and continue with “have no other elohim before ME.” Who is the I in this first of the 10 Matters? In these words of the Ten Matters, we don’t see any group or "council" of beings. We see one being--YHWH, and he is the only Elohim. The prophet Isaiah makes this point very clearly. It would be helpful to read through chapters 43 and 45 in their entirety to get the full impact of the prophet’s message. Yet, we will get the sense by focusing here on a few key verses from these chapters. "I [am] יהוה [YHWH], and [there is] no other; [there is] no [elohim] besides Me. I will gird you, though you have not known Me, that they may know from the rising of the sun to its setting that [there is] none besides Me. I [am] יהוה [YHWH], and [there is] no other" (Y’shayahu, Isaiah, 45:5-6). “... Who has declared this from ancient time? [Who] has told it from that time? [Have] not I, יהוה [YHWH]? And [there is] no other [Elohim] besides Me, a just [Elohim] and a Savior; [there is] none besides Me. Look to Me, and be saved, all you ends of the earth! The Hebrew Scriptures refer to a council of Elohim. The commandment to have no other Elohim before me could only make sense if other Elohim existed. You have quoted judges which reflects that Chemosh was one such Elohim. See Psalm 82 Exodus 15:11 says “11“Who is like you, O LORD, among the Elohim? Who is like you, majestic in holiness, awesome in glorious deeds, doing wonders? Isaiah seems to be emphatically making the same point: the LORD is such a great Elohim that besides him there is no Elohim, not that there is literally no other Elohim. If it did say there are no other Elohim then it would be contradicting a significant part of the Hebrew Bible. This is not a Hebrew versus Greek thought issue.

@frankly.speaking Yet Scripture proves that the Elohym (אלוהים) in Genesis is plural in meaning. 1 Corinthians 8:6 "for us there is one Elohim, the Father, from whom all came and for whom we live, and one Master יהושע Messiah, through whom all came and through whom we live." Proverbs 8:22 “יהוה possessed me, The beginning of His way, As the first of His works of old." 23 “I was set up ages ago, at the first, Before the earth ever was." 24“When there were no depths I was brought forth, When there were no springs heavy with water." 25 “Before mountains were sunk, Before the hills, I was brought forth," 26“Before He had made the earth and the fields, Or the first dust of the world." 27“When He prepared the heavens, I was there, When He decreed a vault on the face of the deep," 28“When He set the clouds above, When He made the fountains of the deep strong," 29“When He gave to the sea its limit, So that the waters would not transgress His command, When He decreed the foundations of the earth," 30“Then I was beside Him, a master workman, And I was His delight, day by day Rejoicing before Him all the time," John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim." 2 "He was in the beginning with Elohim." 3 "All came to be through Him, and without Him not even one came to be that came to be." The Father 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, created all things through His Son 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏; Hebrews 1:2 "has in these last days spoken to us by the Son, whom He has appointed heir of all, through whom also He made the ages," Ephesians 3:9 "and to make all see how this secret is administered, which for ages past has been hidden in Elohim who created all through 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏 Messiah," The Hebrew word Bara (ברא) in Genesis 1:1 is a singular word because the Father 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 created, and He created all things through His Son 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏. My brother, I hear your argument on the plurality issue but it don’t change the fact that it’s the word Moses used to identify who God title is, further more there must some distinction between the God of Israel and the other pagan Gods since it is used interchangeably of the two. Basically Elohim is part of the title of “the IAM”, of exd 3:14-15. Elohim Yahweh is the tittle of the “ I AM”. My understanding is it mean “Everlasting God” which is a title. Which now brings the distinction. “ I AM” has many titles it’s also stated in the Torah that the children of israel knew the “ I AM” by “God Almighty”.

- Shalom and thanks for your comment. Mosheh used the word Elohim. My point is that we shouldn't substitute Elohim for what is being called a translation but is rather a substitution "God." God is literally and idol that should never be worshipped. God means fortune ( www.blueletterbible.org/lexicon/h1171/nasb20/wlc/0-1/ ) - Furthermore, where in the TANAK did it ever mention that Elohim was a title? Nowhere. Based on the pictographic Hebrew, we get a clear picture of the meaning of the Hebrew word. Elohim means "The Strongest Revealed Authority." The one we bow our will to, the one we bow down to. And YHWH is the one we bow down to and worship, YHWH, He is our Elohim.

@@talmideiyhwh I am not disputing your derived meaning of the title Elohim in fact I find it interesting, the reasons I call Elohim a title is because Elohim tells moses is name is " Haya asher Haya " and " Haya" shall be his name for ever. Elohim Yaweh as I said describes the nature of God, Everlasting Supreme Authority if I am to borrow your meaning. Note as I said anyone or anything can be a Elohim since the same word is used for either pagan or the God of Israel, what separate the the title is " Yhwh" which occurs 3 times more than Elohim in the scriptures. the conjunction title sets apart "Haya" from any other. now whether the word God is perfect translation of Elohim is up for debate I am not a linguists but if in English translation God is equivalent to Elohim then I have no problem using it since my first language is English and not hebrew

Shalom and thanks for your follow up comment. As you noted, the Hebrew word Elohim אלוהים can be used for whatever or whomever folks consider as a supreme authority, so we do see the same word used for pagan elohim as well as the Elohim of Avraham, Yitschak, and Yaacov, YHWH יהוה. You mentioned the reason you continue at present to use the word "God" instead of Elohim is because English is your first language and not Hebrew. Nonetheless, I encourage you instead to use as much Hebrew as you know. The word "God" is not a translation of Elohim and is not equivalent to the Hebrew word Elohim. God is literally an idol. ( www.blueletterbible.org/lexicon/h1171/nasb20/wlc/0-1/ )The translators use a trick, where they transliterate the Hebrew word גד which is pronounced "god" as "gad." Furthermore, it's interesting that translators chose to transliterate the Hebrew word that means adversary -- שטן "satan" so that you basically end up saying the Hebrew for satan, when the underlying Hebrew is שטן, but when the underlying Hebrew text is אלוהים, they don't transliterate, Elohim, they instead substitute with a totally different word, an idol--god. "Now concerning everything which I have said to you, be careful; and do not mention the name of other elohim, nor let [them] be heard from your mouth." (Sh'moth "Exodus" 23:13 NASB20) In conclusion, since you are familiar with Elohim as the transliteration of the Hebrew אלוהים, I encourage you to use the transliteration whenever the underlying Hebrew text is actually Elohim instead of using the substitute.

The Ivrith word אלהים Elohim has a plural form but in ancient Ivrith, this plural ending was also used to express the superlative, the supreme. This concept is explained in The Interpreter's Dictionary of the Bible, (Abingdon Press, Copyright 1962, volume 2, pg. 413). In the article on “GOD” it states that Elohim “is used in a singular sense, even when as a concession to the plural form of the word, the accompanying verb is in the plural (e.g. , Gen. 1:26; 20:13; 35:7 Exod. 22:9 - H 22:8). This use is often called the “plural of majesty” or pluralis amplitudinis.” This means the eem ending was used to convey the superlative. Consequently, the full meaning of אלהים Elohim is the strongest revealed authority or the strongest beheld authority.

@ox609, indeed it is a matter of election, a matter of choice. But it is also a matter or fact that יהוה YHWH is the creator of the heavens and the earth and all that exists and is therefore the only true Elohim. As the prophet Yishayahu said, ""I am יהוה YHWH, and there is no one else; there is no Elohim except Me. I will arm you, though you have not known Me, So that [people] may know from the rising to the setting of the sun that there is no one besides Me. I am יהוה YHWH, and there is no one else, the One forming light and creating darkness, Causing well-being and creating disaster; I am יהוה YHWH who does all these things." (Yishayahu "Isaiah" 45:5-7 NASB20) I hope this makes it clear. Some people choose to worship the sun. The sun is indeed a power in the universe that provides energy and light. יהוה YHWH created the sun. For me, the sun is not in any way Elohim. I don't worship the sun. יהוה YHWH is my only Elohim. But for others who choose to worship the sun, many of whom don't even know about יהוה YHWH, the sun is what they submit to as their supreme authority, their Elohim.

The Elohim is the council of the gods with El as the highest as simple as that
@talmideiyhwh
@talmideiyhwh 9 месяцев назад
Shalom and thanks for your comment. Actually, the verse doesn't say that Elohim = a council. Instead of inserting the idolatrous substitution "god", we should transliterate the Hebrew אלהים with Elohim and אל with El. If we do that Tehillim 82:1 would read, "Elohim stands in the congregation of El; he judges among the elohim." Now, what was meant by Asaph, the writer of this song (mizmor)? Did Asaph think of YHWH as more than one being? Did Asaph think that the word Elohim referred to some council of spirit beings? The foundation of the covenant YHWH made with Yisrael is found in the book of Sh'moth "Exodus" and called the sefer habrith--the book of the covenant (Sh'moth 24:7). That book starts with the 10 d'varim, the 10 matters, often referred to as the 10 commandments. Those commandment start with a very clear statement: "Then Elohim spoke all these words, saying, 'I am YHWH your Elohim, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.'" (Sh'moth 20:1-2) Notice, Elohim says, "I am ..." not "We are ..." The Elohim of Avraham, Yitzchak and Yaacov is not a group, but one being whose name is YHWH. This understanding is consistent all through the Torah, the Prophets and the Writings. YHWH proclaims through the prophet Yishayahu, "I am YHWH, and there is no one else; there is no Elohim except Me..." (Yishayahu 45:5) Clearly, Asaph wasn't confused about YHWH being the Elohim of Yisrael. The reason confusion exists for many today is because we are removed from the historical and cultural context of how the word Elohim was used. Instead, he used the word elohim to refer to humans who were in a position of authority and who should have used that position correctly. These foundational words provide the light by which we may understand the other books that were later written, including the Tehillim (Psalms).

The Torah and for that matter the TANAK is consistent that YHWH created all things and is indeed El Elyon (the most High) as in this verse: "But Abram said to the king of Sodom, 'I have sworn to YHWH El Elyon (Most High), Possessor of heaven and earth,'" (Breshith "Genesis" 14:22) Elohim is not plural when used in reference to YHWH. In the 10 D'varim (matters) YHWH says, "I am YHWH your Elohim ..." (Sh'moth 20:2)

That’s simply not in TANAK. On this channel we aim to follow Torah. As all Yisrael shouted when fire came down from heaven and consumed the offering made by the prophet Eliyahu on Mt Carmel, “YHWH He is The Elohim” (1 Melachim “Kings” 18:39)

The beginning of the bible Genesis is the fairytale story of the golem! Elohim means many deities. When you use the etymology of the word. Which means the origin of the word. When trace El back to its origin it is connected to phallus. Another word shemesh means Sun. Which is worshipped by the jews. The bible is a multilayered occultic book full of secret hidden overlapping knowledge. Yah just means year. Hence all the reaping and sowing. Cuneiform also existed before hebrew.

Shalom and thanks for your comment. 1) This channel aims to speak to those who are seeking a covenant relationship with YHWH and accept Torah as a revelation from YHWH -- spoken by the mouth of YHWH and written by Mosheh (על פי יהוה ביד מושה) 2) You are of course free to hold your own opinions. But in the video, I clearly showed the etymology of the Ivrith "Hebrew" word אל El. The etymology is clear in the pictographic Ivrith letters. The א Aleph is the picture of the head of a bull and represents strength. The ל lamed is the picture of a shepherd's staff and represents authority. Together they mean the strong authority. The etymology of El is not connected with a phallus, and for those who worship YHWH and call YHWH their Elohim, they are acknowledging YHWH as their strongest revealed authority which is the meaning of the word Elohim. 3) Ivrith was the language YHWH revealed Himself in and used when speaking to Mosheh, Adam, Avraham, etc.... It is therefore understood to be lashon hakodesh -- the Holy language. It was also the first language spoken by humans.

@@talmideiyhwh , Yes most definitely El is connected to the phallus. Just like the torah has hidden information on its pages. The torah clever talks about right and left of the brain on its pages. It is you whom are lacking in true knowledge.

In the Brit Chadashah it mentions El as Yeshua in Kefa 1. It means Chief Shepherd of Israel (Yeshayahu 40:9-11;Yochanan 10; Hisgalus 19). Bs means stupid or untrue talk or writing; nonsense. Hebrew is true & is the authoritative language of the Tanakh.

Let's first of all dispense with the foul language and focus on the topic at hand. Your comment shows that you missed the main point of my video which is to show that El should never be equated with god which is actually a specific ancient idol worshipped in the land of Canaan. The point of my video is to show the true meaning of the words El and Elohim and to encourage viewers not to translate or substitute these words when reading the TANAK but to rather use the transliterations. Once a person understands El as the strong authority, it's not surprising that different people held different ideas, beliefs, or belief in different beings as their El "Strong authority." The El of Avraham, Yitzchak and Yaacov was YHWH, YHWH was never the El of the Canaanites.

Shalom and thanks for your comment. I agree that Hebrew is true and is the authoritative language of the TANAK. It is called, Lashon HaKodesh (the Holy Language) because it is the only language in which YHWH revealed himself to Yisrael and the language in which the covenant was spoken by YHWH himself and revealed. That being said, I encourage you to watch the series on the difference between the Hebrew Mashiach and the Christian Messiah as it will make clear why those following the Torah worship YHWH as their Elohim and YHWH only. ru-vid.com/group/PL5-KXjji64_uxUd5fa1B-A5CKsd5-XePV&si=pvuhLNl8R31230JE

Elohim is plural to show love is the strongest revealed authority. Love is one, yet it encompasses more than one because love cannot be singular, there is nothing to love. Idols are dangerous because they are singular by nature, and therefore cannot be of love. The Cross is the greatest revelation of the strongest revealed authority as described in 1 Cor 13.

Shalom @patrickdennis4046 and thanks for your comment. One of the key points of my video was the explanation that the Hebrew word אלהים Elohim has a plural form, but isn't plural and means "The Strongest Revealed Authority." Our goal on this channel is to help viewers see the meaning intended by the original Hebrew as inspired by יהוה and written by Mosheh. I hope you will continue watching our videos and I encourage you to watch part 1 of "The Difference Between the Hebrew Mashiach and the Christian Messiah." (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-we8Fyvn03hE.html)This video elaborates on the difference between what was revealed by יהוה himself as compared to what humans make up, especially as found in Greek thought.

I have jewish friends whom say yes it is plural. Genesis is just the jewish fairytale of the golem. Jews only believe in what they see not a imaginary god! This is a silly claim.

That some jews believe Elohim is plural doesn't make it so. Many Jews, myself included, know and teach the true meaning of the Ivrith "Hebrew" term. Whenever the Torah refers to YHWH as the Elohim of Yisrael, it means that YHWH is the strongest revealed authority, the one being worshiped and bowed down to by Yisrael.

Thanks for your comment. Somehow, I think you got the wrong message. יהוה YHWH is the one and only true Elohim. As Yishayahu said, "'You are My witnesses,' declares יהוה YHWH, 'And My servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe Me And understand that I am He. Before Me there was no [Elohim] formed, and there will be none after Me.'" (Yishayahu "Isaiah" 43:10 NASB20) Again he declares, "I am יהוה YHWH, and there is no one else; there is no Elohim except Me. I will arm you, though you have not known Me, so that [people] may know from the rising to the setting of the sun that there is no one besides Me. I am יהוה YHWH, and there is no one else," (Yishayahu 45:5-6 NASB20) For more on this, please watch the full series on the difference between the Hebrew Mashiach and the Christian Messiah ru-vid.com/group/PL5-KXjji64_uxUd5fa1B-A5CKsd5-XePV
