First thing first, Your videos are incredible for me. Thank You Sincerely. Secondly, I need a simple understanding when it comes to Gap-Down-Backer. I coach youth, and some of my players are not at the D-Line technique understanding yet. So, If a defender is head up on a O-line player, during a down block assignment, is the oline player blocking the head up defender, or is he leaving that defender for a gap/backer defender? Also, i understand that the in-depth answer is that it depends on the play call. Thank you for what you do Coach!!

how do you deal with a defender that is head up on a player that is supposed to down block? does he have the head up defender or is that responsibility for the next down blocker?

We would not block that defender as the player outside of us would take him.

Would you ever have the TE bang to backer, meaning clip the end to help wing before going to backer?

Coach how do you handle a blitz. Let’s say that play side inside backer comes down over the front side guard that’s going to pull. Does the center take him or would the center be down blocking on a 1 tech backside?

We would have the center block back - and the play side guard take the blitzer
