You're absolutely right about Thailand! Whenever I arrive in Thailand, I feel a tremendous weight come off my shoulders. After a week, I become a better version of myself that I like more than the person I was from Southern California. I become a more patient, kinder, and less suspicious person because I don't feel that I need to put up a wall to protect myself from road rage or from a "Karen" who will have an issue with me for whatever reason or have to worry about my property being stolen. I am happy to say that I will be back in Thailand this October! Eventually, I will retire there in a few years.
"a better version of myself" I feel exactly the same way when I'm in South East Asia. All the shit you don't have to worry about is what life is all about.
when I am in Laos, I never listen to the news, Dont talk about politics and just enjoy the nice people and food. My blood pressure drops and I lose a few pounds from the healthy food. We are retiring to Laos. Cant wait to get there from Washington State.@@LarsAndersen-ig9yt
He does have the right mindset. Best video producer on You Tube. He doesnt interject politics or negative commentary, which is very refreshing in todays world.
Also, it never stops to amaze me, how fast Bangkok have evolved in the recent years. A lot of cool condos have appeared, it is becoming more modern, even IKEA have been opened there.
Been to Bangkok, PattYa and Chang Mai; all are great: I liked Pattaya better due to beach. Agree all is low cost compared to the West.I could live there : low cost, very safe ; thai culture / people are nice. Appreciate your videos and keep them coming😊
I do enjoy walking the beach at Pattaya but I don’t go in the water But if I take the ferry to Koh Larn then I will Also the islands off of Phuket I will swim there I want to go there later this year
I was wondering if you were going to get a massage. Looks incredibly relaxing. Glad you're back where you feel the most comfortable. How about a video on what you're packing with you/minimalism? Great content. Enjoy your Time!
Great video. Very good detail on costs , traffic, and general layout of Bangkok. Love the food . We sometimes pass through Bangkok on our way to Laos. Love the friendly people.
While we were in BKK, we usually stayed around Pratunam Area which then we can walk through skyways from Platinum Fashion Mall to these amazing malls like BigC Supermarket, Gaysorn, Central World, Siam Paragon, Siam Center, Siam Discovery, and to MBK Mall. Each mall has their unique food courts but check out the food courts at Central World. Also, we took MRT, buses, and walk a lot to every where. Sharing is caring!
I’m moving my family to Phrom Phong. Bangkok/Thailand is good for the mind and the heart. Costs are optional. You can pay big money (10k per month US) or 250k. It’s up to you and what you want. Same goes for cost of living. The place is good for the soul because is not as regulated as the west and so the culture is bottom up, not top down.
I hope you share a little bit about differences in weather and the seasons, rainy periods and whatnot. Seems like the Phillipines spends a little more time in the 80's vs 95-100? Chang Mai 108 yesterday. Yikes!!
@@RetireandGoas soon as you can afford it hire an editor/clipper. The majority of your $ from these types of vids will be short form clips from your vids on tiktok yt shorts etc . Money is in the short form
Very nice! You will enjoy walking and exploring Bangkok It’s safe, fun, low cost Have a suit or a sport coat made too! There are great tailors I should do a video on that I think Thoughts?
@@RetireandGo Having lived and worked almost all of my entire life in Hawaii.....suits were never my thing. But, that subject would make for a good video for the guys that are looking for a suit.
You are hooked for life I understand completely 6 years in Thailand 6 in Vietnam I love Thailand for the food, massage, walkable neighborhods, fabulous ground transportation and warm, kind people Give away $5 to $10 a day to these hard working service people A $1 or $2 tip is greatly appreciated.
Thinking about comming over thanks for info on messages that is what I need to come over for here i just paid $70 just for pedicure. I would love to see you start having live to ask you question also can you list what motel you stay in so we can look into trying it. Thaks
I have not noticed terrible pollution I will tell you during the day if you walk along the Main Streets you will have vehicle exhaust That’s true in every country though
There are a few reasons Abb is good for sure I like the 24 hour front desk , all utilities and WiFi , and the hotel reviews But yes abb has good prices for long term
This is a great question With just a quick google translate search you could get that on your phone and show it to them or even better… learn to say it That would be very cool!
I have a friend, who lives in Laos. Rents a two bedroom home for $125/month. Plays golf almost every day with a wife and two kids. The cost of living is about 1/10 what it is in America.
Yes, it really has worked fantastic I buy toiletries as I go Just a few items of clothing All through South America as well Just a little warmer clothes haha It’s a light minimalist travel set up that’s wonderful
I totally understand I get pad Thai made so cheap, fresh in Thailand that I sometimes can’t bring myself to pay for meals in the US when I go back for holidays haha I’m like … what ? Haha
I went to California pizza kitchen in Hawaii when I was back for Christmas It’s tasty, but one plate is a full days meals and Coke zeros for me in Thailand
