Your talks on multiple belonging, and multiple stories to tell really make me feel seen and heard even though we have never met

You make us travel to the world of imagination Your intellectual revolutions are near to perfect but it seems little in society to adopt Well like your interpretations for changing my life

I think our real roots are in the heart. These are our deep upside-down Baobab roots… And we take them with us everywhere we go

I've always felt rootless. My family are Russian emigrants who came to Finland during the revolution in 1917 so that they would not have been killed. There has always been hatred for Russians in Finland, and I got my share of it in childhood. I myself was born in Finland but I had a Russian name. I found it so distressing that I changed my name. I wanted to change my identity and wipe off the history that has caused so much sorrow. This rootlessness has also been familylessness. In history before me, the traumas have been so great that I have been left without the warmth of the family. The same thing has continued throughout my life. I've been wondering about that evil Karma? I have had to build my own love and my own family in place of the lack of connection I experienced. Now in my fifties, my interest has awakened about my background. I found out that there is a book my aunt wrote. It is called ’Shifting Sands’. That book has never been published. Perhaps the reason was fear or lack of funds. It is an interesting reading and tells a lot about the history of my family. It also tells about hiding during the revolution in Tsar Russia and how they got to safety in Finland and continues until my aunt lives in England. It is also a love story and about the strength of women. Now I hope that the book could somehow be published.

Sevgiler..
