A really well presented video, totally enjoyed it, a great insight seeing the atmosphere and love the Steam Inc crew put into seeing their collection run on the mainline.
Nice presentation of this outstanding organisation. I live in the Netherlands but visited NZ twice yet, and I was impressed by the amount of railway preservation going on, and also by the welcoming atmosphere in most of the groups. There was no place where we couldn't get access to see the collection, even when there were just some volunteers working on a non running day, and on one occasion we even were invited on the footplate for a trip when a loco was under test. At Steam Inc at Paekakariki we could walk and look around in their workshops and sidings, and very surprisingly I met someone also from the Netherlands who I knew, he was volunteer at the same preserved railway in the Netherlands as I was! That was a very big coincidence to meet him at the other end of the world, if it was a lottery ticket I would have had the jackpot.
What a wonderful story Tom, hope to see you in NZ on one of our Steam Inc excursions. Well worth the trip from the other side of the world. Thanks for sharing.
@@nzrfan608 Yup if or when they get running that is. I might even just go down to the Pilmmerton Depot to see if any of the lads want to talk camera. But I'll be covering GVR, Waka Pass, Silver Stream and Dunedin Railways too at some point. But every one will be includes it just takes time is all. As I do this in my free time away from work and whānau with no financial assistance from anyone to travel, film and present these episodes. I do it to introduce people to the best hobby in the world being a railfan 😊
