Temu has some pretty questionable ethics that prevent me from using them, to be honest. They've been called out on using forced labour to produce goods, and there have been concerns around data collection that they do.

All of these Chinese marketplaces concern me with this. When you buy from a retailer there is a due diligence process and a massive fine if they were to buy from a source that uses forcedlabour or sold unsafe goods. with these direct to consumer options you have no idea who made the product and if its safe. We have all seen the horror stories of electric scooters setting on fire and "food safe" silicone objects not being food safe.

Temu, Shein, Ali express & the like::: Employees were alleged to work 18 hours a day in violation of Chinese labour laws, and are severely underpaid, with those at one factory earning a base salary of 4,000 yuan a month or £476. Workers make a minimum of 500 garments a day at the factory. They are all Linked to forced labour & extremely low wages, working over the legal limit.

Do you realize £476 a month is a fortune over there! Many would love to earn that! Nothing forced about it. They want the pay. And many here in the UK can't afford food, let alone clothing! It's not going to be good quality, but it serves a purpose. FYI I work in the UK and serve around 600 customers per day, through my till. Scanning/packing items by hand. Todays workers have machinery that helps do most of the work. But it's still no picnic. I wouldn't choose to do this, but needs must! I'm sure my pay is worse, I can't even afford temu!

Agree. Nearly all non-perishable items in my grocery store are inferior Chinese tat. I don't agree with it. But we have no choice where it comes from. I'm more irate that China supports Putin. Nobody forces anyone to work. And their pay is considered a lot in China. Just not to us. In the UK we apparently accept our own being fleeced daily and given unliveable wages. It's a bit hypocritical to demand higher wages for others, when doing that to our own.

Yeah and sadly that is the best case scenario with products like that with little to no quality control. Anything that sends electricity through you can be dangerous but I would be afraid to use a wish/temu/ali express product on my neck or spine. Where is your nerve pain located if it's ok to ask? Since you got a £200 credit it would be good to try out more electrical items. I have ordered over 20 times from Temu. 1 - every one turns up on time 2 - all items have been good enough for the prices I paid 3 - Only two items were damaged and got refund with in minutes for it. 4 - so far all my items in an order have come all together. I am not joking I got a knock on the door and it was my temu order arriving the only down for me is that they come in plastic packaging so can get knocked and squashed

I got charged 40p just to use a toilet in the UK today! It wasn't even a luxury toilet. Just regular public toilets, not even in good condition. I can't help but think I'm being milked to fund the local MPs Christmas booze up.

I understand and agree with everyone’s comments about Temu but I do think it’s a little unfair to cast too much judgement on two very obviously kind individuals. This is someone’s livelihood here and whilst I’d like to think I wouldn’t accept a brand deal from them if I were in this position, I can’t truly say as such because I am not. Hopefully Mike doesn’t team up with them again but don’t be horrible, don’t cast too much judgement (especially with the state of things in the UK at the moment) and just remember they’re two normal people at the other side of whatever screen you’re watching this on.
