What does the Antisemitism Awareness Act mean for American democracy? 

As pro-Palestine protests continue on college campuses across the United States, the Antisemitism Awareness Act which was recently passed by the U.S. House of Representatives has further added fuel to protesters' anger. The bill is yet to be taken up by the U.S. Senate. But opinions have already been quite divided. Supporters of the legislation say it will help combat antisemitism on college campuses, but opponents say it is overreaching and threatens to chill free speech. What was behind the birth of the bill? Is it in accordance with the spirit of the American Constitution? And will free speech be significantly restricted if the bill goes into effect?
