Love the series- I had a question about cooling off Periods- I've never worked at a company that required them. It was more about convincing the hiring leaders to take another look at candidates after a year or so. However, what happens if the candidate interviews well and you could see hiring them but not into the role they interviewed for: maybe it filled and they were the runner-up or they weren't quite ready for that level but another level would be better- etc. Were you able to keep a "bench" of talent warm and ready to go or did you have to start these searches all over?
Oh yeah if it was a clear yes or maybe for the company overall and/or other roles or teams, immediately open to other roles. Google is the only company I've personally worked for that had a more strong stance on this.
