What you are speaking about sounds exactly like what is called Lordship Salvation. Many people on social media are pushing this doctrine. It's as if your salvation is based on your performance. Most of them say you need to repent, which they interpret as stopping all sin completely before Christ will save you. That places the cart before the horse. Christ saves you and then He works in you to help you forsake sin. He doesn't need our help in redeeming us. To say otherwise is saying that Calvary was not enough for us.
This teaching is nothing short of brilliant. So anointed. It’s life changing revelation, thanks Mark for helping all of us who have been led into a blind alley of performance evaluation over every aspect of our lives. I can’t thank you enough. John 6:29 Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent. He said work not works. Our work is to believe in the One He has sent. Jesus Himself.
I struggle with this teaching. On one hand God says it is about relationship. On another hand He says we will be judged by our works. That is not speaking about love to me. That is emphasis on performance culture.
Around 5:40 minutes in he talks about this... But basically our works are a result of Jesus working through us. We are not trying to live out good works on our own. Hopefully that helps.
