Boba repainted his armour green with red accents, including golden shoulder pads, signifzing his dutiful execution of his jobs and honoring his father, by executing jobs of vengeance, later choosing the black jumpsuit to signify that his jobs are for justice as well.

I think if you consider Sabine's armor, it could be considered a mix of Orange and Violet which, according to the Mandalorian wiki symbolize Lust for Life and Luck, respectively. I think it kinda fits if you consider how she is sometimes in Rebels.

You left out quite a few colors, maybe a part two? Out of those not mentioned my favorites are tan for loyalty, cyan for love, and purple for luck.

Neo crusaders: Blue for generic neo crusaders, Red for rally masters, and Gold for Field Marshalls. Cassus Fett was one of the first to wear gold.

Headcanon: Armor colors do not have universal meaning but meaning IS assigned to them by those wearing them. They're not indicators, they're livery.

I hope they make moreLegends content into cannon.

Pretty interesting explanations, but really not the way I thought it would go. Still looking at legends content, what about the ranking part of the color? It can be noticed in KOTOR, and especially in KOTOR 2 in the Mandalorian camp on Dxun; Blue is the generic one, very common, silver is for veterans on the front line, gold is field marshall, red is for rally masters (captains). At least that's true for Neo-Crusaders according to Wookieepedia ^^

White Madno Armor: A N U S T A R T

I've been planning my eventual mando armor suit in my head, and I'm thinking of going with a nice gunmetal color highlighted with orange around the T-visor and other accents. If only I had the money to make it

i started making a mandalorian character about a month ago and made her armor color gray and blue. i made her backstory where her mother died during a raid when she was young and her father then turned into an alcoholic, and now the color gray for her armor makes a lot of sense. at the time i didnt know, but i'm glad i know now and might even make some adjustments to her and her armor. thank you :]

Can it really be said Jango was murdered? He was was engaged with Windu as a willing combatant. Or does what faction you back essentially decide how his death gets viewed?

Really recommend reading the republic commando novels (the source material mentioned for skirata and vau). They are my favorite. And they will turn you into a mando simp if you’re not one already.

the segment about the guy who was basically like a father to the clone troopers was heartwarming

My OC Viira Fei has her own complicated backstory where she starts off as an emotionally unstable jedi youngling, gets taken off the battlefield due to said instability, ands finds her niche in the medical division of the jedi where she essentially becomes a jedi healer who later overcomes her depression and anxiety, and becomes skilled in combat as well. She later falls in love with a mandalorian who is also a force-user, and basically leaves the order to run off with him and joins the mandalorians herself. She wears a cloak as her (gray) jedi self, and once she joined the mandalorians, her armor would be white as well, not only symbolizing her continued role as a healer, but also a new start.

For those commenting on Sabine's rainbow armor, one theory could be that it was due to rebellion against tradition. She was saying she rejected all the meanings to them, displaying her meaning alone. She was in rejection of being Mandalorian itself.

Yay, I was one of the early ones!

Only recently found this video working on my own suit of armor. My primary colors are dark green, black on the right shoulder pad, white , gray, and red on my left shoulder. I'm including elements that honor my real world history in that I've incorporated a modified version of the tartan the Irish elements of my family would have worn on my right thigh armor, and will be merging my final army assignment patch with the German side of my family crest on the right shoulder pad. Almost forgot, my undersuit is a repurposed army uniform that has been retired.

We need more of this in dept cultural mandalorian info!

i think there was something in Karen Traviss' Republic commando books where they talked about the colors too? I think I remember the Skirata's Null ARCs just painted their armors in similar colors to their ARC trooper armor.

Tbh, I think in 'Disney Canon' the paint on the armour is more clan/allegiance based, eg i think the colour of House Vizsla (and by extension the royal house of Mandalore) is blue and silver/grey, Clan Wren is yellow and silver/grey, Clan Kryze blue and white and Clan Saxon is red and black (more likely red and silver with the black coming from Maul) ect. The Clan that 'Found' Din Djarin were wearing blue armour, but he wears no colour, perhaps he will in the future, who knows? The 'Super-commandos' wear the white armour of the Stormtrooper corps, however we do see their leader, Gar Saxon, wear red accents on his armour, and Tristan, part of Clan Wren wear yellow. The Protectors are seen too wear blue and white or blue and silver, perhaps simply wearing the colours of the last legitimate rulers of Mandalore, Clan Kryze, or the Royal colours. It is also worth noting that Sabine Wren, who is effectively exiled from Mandalore, atleast when we first meet her, always has some yellow on her armour, despite repainting it many times.

They should make a full length feature movie of the Mandalorian wars.

The character of sabine is great . She speaks the connection of art and revolution .

I believe in the new canon that the modern Mandalorians, as the Wrens and Kryze's are as opposed to Death Watch or the others, have clan specific colors. Blue and gray for Clan Kryze, Yellows and grays for Wrens... it seems to be something along those lines in Rebels.

Coincidentally, I was working towards joining the Mandalorian Mercs based on the Legacy era Mandalorians Mercs with a non-canon Legacy Era armor set. My concept had it in Green and Orange. I really should get around to finish that project, if for no other reason than to enjoy fuccin around the property as a Mando.

the neo crusaders had colours to designate rank among them, I cant exactly remember which ranks are assigned to what colour, but it's cool to hear this explanation, it only makes sense that after the fall of the neo crusaders that the colours would be reassigned

I think that's the meaning for the current mandalorians. during the neo-crusader era, blue, red, gold and silber/grey became the standard colours of the mandalorian armies rank identification. blue for the common warrior, red for rally masters who trained and lead small groups of mandalorians, gold for field marshals the highest command second only to the Mandalore and silver for the vangauard, the veterans who lead from the front. But since Mandalore no longer has a standing army, the meaning of colours are used represent the state of mind for individuals or groups and clans.

A great example of black armor is Hondo Karr. His armor was not Black at first, but after being betrayed he changed it to Black and Gold.

Designing my armor for a custom mandalorian black series figure. Gray undersuit, black as the main armor color, green accents, and bone decorations (a reptile beast skull shoulder pad, a pair of goat-like horns), and a black left shoulder cape with white writing.

The way I see it, Legends is still canon unless directly conflicted So unless we see a direct retcon about these colours, they’re still canon in my eyes

The Mandalorian armor set I am assembling is going to be primarily white with Orange and black/carbon fiber accents with a gold/amber visor. He's also going to be the captain of a merchant ship with a crew of his own made up of various species and a pretty unique droid. He is also going to be a Mandalorian version of War Machine.

The horns are referring to the group that sides with Maul as the real king. I love that the Armorer in the Mandolorian has them ❤️❤️

Well obviously the legends material leaves a lot out and or Filino has a new or modified color code, considering the Brown Din wore in chapter 1, or Sabines colorful paint jobs.

I'd definitely go for black here, preferably a matte non-reflective black - justice you can't see coming.

I have a character I've been designing for some time now, with several thousand years of history behind him, a fictional mandalorian clan, and his ancestors. Concept is that through a variety of circumstances he's raised in a culture with close ties to The Mandalorians and the Sith, as well as distant ties to the Jedi and Republic. He combines Mandalorian traditions with Sith training and technology, strong in the dark side. Parts of his armor and gear will be passed down, but a lot of it will be cobbled together from his own long Hunts. a leather grip on his blaster made from some kind of reptile, the shroud of his lightsaber made from a shattered terentatek tooth, its' crystal a Krayt Dragon Pearl, one forearm replaced with a droid's arm, maybe some vonduun crab armor on the other arm, a tattered "battle skirt" worn with his armor, a Sith Mask designed after his Clan's Mando Helmet, Black, Green, and Gold to represent his boldness and dedication to his cause, but also to flaunt his success as a hunter, a soldier, and a master of The Force.

After watching the last episode of the Mandalorian, season 3 episode 4, I started to question, why is Din the only Mandalorian that has no colours? I know that later in the season we will see other Mandalorian's with different coloured armour, but I wonder if this will be explained why there are different colours?

Deathwatch in jango fett: open seasons with Tor Visla and Star Wars Galaxies Deathwatch wore Red and black btw which predate the faloni rewrites for blue.

I figured it was the color theory approach as armor isn't like a lightsaber, it's way easier to find paint than say bleeding a Crystal, kyber or otherwise.
