This man is my hero. A few years ago I visited London and booked a visit to the Tower of London online. Unfortunately I was suffering from anxiety at the time and as I entered the tower I suffered a major panic attack. I headed towards the first yeoman warden I saw which happened to be this man. I was in tears at this point and he was so kind. He sat me down in the off limit to the public area and let me sit down to calm my anxiety, all the while chatting to me. I was unable to start my visit, and he called a taxi to take me back to my friends flat where I was staying. He then arranged for me to have another, (complimentary) ticket for another visit. He didn’t need to do that. It was so kind. When I eventually visited a few days later I caught him doing a tour and joined in, and he recognised me ! Thank you Sir.
I DO hope this story is true (most sincere apologies for even doubting it is so!) Let us ALL not forget, these 'entertainers' have probably seen and done things that would freak most of us out!
@@georgebuller1914 George, you're absolutely right. The yeoman warden in the video helped me at a very difficult time. He was so kind. Whilst I was getting over my panic attack we talked and I asked him if he had seen service in Northern Ireland, and he told me that he had been there during 'The Troubles' in Belfast. They have to do 22 years service and reach a high non-commissioned rank before even being considered for a position as a yeoman warder, so I think that in itself is amazing.
He was amazing. I re-visited the Tower last October and had a tour with another yeoman warder who was equally hilarious. They all have their own style but the stories they tell are so funny.
