This exact thing happened to me with the Guardians. Missed the playoffs by two games. Ended up trading for Corbin Burns after he made an extension and got a good International pitcher, made a few minor trades and won the World Series in 2025! With Austin Hedges as the catcher I think our pitching carried us pretty hard. Here's to hoping you get some lucky trades next year!
So excited for this years series, love listening to your thought process. Orioles save is boring this year (irl dynasty inbound letsgooo) and Red Sox are in such a weird spot, lots of ways to approach it.
Nice! Love your vids (short for videos). Not going back to check all your “vids” but a Reds sim would be cool. Under thought about historic franchise who is young rn. YEAH
LEMME TALK TO YA: Here's a Reds video I did for OOTP 23: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YZDRjqxDRok.html They are definitely in a fun spot, but trading Luis Castillo is major points against me wanting to do a sim with them :)
Waited a year on Casas in my sim in '25 and extended him after a mid year for 6/52m, 18.1 combined WAR, 131 wRC+/135 OPS+ in the 5 years that followed. Decent value!
Feel like Boston (and other teams like the Mariners) are using the old Jerry Reinsdorf model of just making the playoffs to keep the fans engaged without having to spend what it takes to win a championship.
Thank you for the video!! very useful. Is there any video that could help with contract extension/ salary arbitration? Played OOTP before but still feel unsure on these
I did some videos on these wayyyy back and tbh I'm not sure how helpful they are. Can you throw a few specific questions about these @ me? I can try to do a video of those questions if that would help.
If you like fun guys, sign Makoto Kamiya (I forget what year). He averaged, per 162 games, 58 HR and 129 RBI for me while also hitting .195 and striking out 301(!!) times. One season he hit 42 HR and 100 RBI with an 83 WRC+. lol He won a gold glove that year and had a negative WAR.
What the heck is Oakland doing with a 61-40 record and leading the AL West?!?!? . . . can't wait to see how this story ends . . . wow that was some strange stuff. I think Fangraphs gave Oakland a 2% chance to make the playoffs and you found it! The Astros with 75 wins is almost as unlikely as the Dodgers with 84 (did OOTP suspend Ohtani for gambling or something? 🤣) I can only assume both teams had a horrible rash of injuries.
Ran a few sims of the latest patch, ohtani had one save where he hit 54 homers and pitched 2 innings giving up 3 homers? so gonna investigate more into what happened there lol.
Unless something has changed with range at 3b under the hood, you can get away with a low range dude if his arm is good. But I've seen a lot weird with zone ratings so far this season, beyond just this.
@@PeachesYes Volpe? not on my game, he's 65 range 60 error and double plays is 60. i did explain it wrong though, i played him at 3b, 2b and SS over the season and his total zone rating is -28 in all positions so he's like averaging -9 in each position.
Can I just point out that you signed Rafaela to an 8 year, $49 million dollar deal, and in real life, he signed an 8-year $50 million deal.... I can't believe you were so wildly off in your prediction!!!
