Thank you so much. Your description of the symptoms are exactly what I have been experiencing for some months. Earlier this year I went to my Doctor who arranged a visit to the local hospital for an endoscopy. They looked for and found exactly what they expected to find in a 78 year old man, a partial hiatus hernia, which did not solve the problem at all. I now feel confident enough to make a return visit to the Doctors.
I have it. The first op I had, the gastroenterologist made a mistake and punctured through to my lung. I nearly died. I got surgical emphysema and ended up in ICU. I was haemmorhaging in theatre so the doctor aborted the operation. Now I am afraid to have the surgery again. The problem is that at night if I don't sleep sitting up, the food comes up and I choke.
