And with daboll he became a 1 read QB either do your first progression or run. His injury and the NFL figured that out. He was never really average at best he was early 20s in the nfl

@@Knucklesbbx Well because defenses caught onto what the giants were doing in 2022. The cowboys exposed that in week 1 of last yr. Contain jones to the pocket and make him beat you with his arm and he gets exposed. Even in 2022 he was really only great against horrible defenses like the vikings and the colts. He struggled against good teams like the seahawks.

None of these 3 are going after Kayvon because they are baseball guys not football. There's plenty of heat on him outside of this. Despite that, QB is the biggest issue. Kayvon could have had 6 sacks they still lose, DJ has a good game they are either in it or win it
There was no scenario where we were getting Williams or Daniels. They aggressively tried to trade up for Maye and it did not work out, so they sat there and took the best player available in Nabers. If we reached and took JJ or Nix, we would be just as bad as we are now with no #1 WR for the future QB. Schoen has missed on a lot of picks, but Nabers was a slam dunk of a pick. Him & the OL were the only bright spots on sunday.
It would be disgraceful if the Giants fire Daboll but keep Schoen. The latter is much more responsible for the position the franchise is in right now with the contract he gave to him and overall poor draft picks.
I agree Joe Schoen has had some bad drafts. Daboll has them unprepared to play. These two look lost. They have no idea how to turn this around. Thats why i would fire both. They dont have answers again for the 2nd year in a row

Whew Giants look bad. Beaten badly in absolutely every single phase. Vikings looked very good with a defense that could be amazing. BFlo is a defensive genius and they brought in a ton of talent on that side of the ball.
Daboll wanted to be here in yr one bc he thought after 22, he'd get his qb that didn't happen. You see his body language since last season he just seems disinterested and doesn't seem engaged in the team.

As much as I enjoy watching NYC sports media types suffer, I will point out that you might have the answer in camp already in the form of Drew Lock. As a Seahawks fan, he looked quite excellent last preseason and has the tools to play NFL QB. So all this angst and suffering about needing to draft a QB may well be for nothing. I don’t make too much of how the Giants play in the second half only because most teams try to start running the clock out once they up couple scores, and also play more conservative on defense. It just seems like to me the Vikings let off the gas a little bit.

Peter makes a great point if Jones can't move the ball against the commanders a bad team then he's not the guy. you don't need more evidence then that the kid has potential but he has to show it. Daboll said the game plan was on him but if it's on you then the team should have played better. like your game plan coming into the game was not good and you should have adjusted do something. not during the game preparation is important no matter if you say my team was prepared no because the tape shows different.

Giants need to free agent big power run offense. Draft them. This sort of talent is available. Stop trying to clone a 49er or K.C. chiefs clone offense. There isnt enough talent in the league to build this sort of clone team. Big power run. Bruiser style. Barely throw the ball. Old school Tony Dungy style. Old school Russel Wilson style can win games. Practice is low contact, pre season is low contact, big bruiser backs power run Iso formation can I think these days bash defenses into the ground 3rd and 4th quarters.
There is a lot of what ifs and maybes in this situation. D. Jones is NOT the QB that this regime drafted. A previous regime drafted Jones. Mara brought Daboll here in hopes he could fix Jones. Obviously, at this point, he looks unfixable. So, it depends on who was banging the table to sign and keep Jones. If it was Daboll....well....he tied himself to Jones, so there would be reason there to fire him. If it was Schoen, well, I think then there is reason there to fire him. If Mara was the guy banging the table to keep Jones and Barkley. Then he forced Daboll and Schoen to attach themselves for 2 more years to Jones. This also would have forced Schoen into giving Jones that contract. Then you cant put that on them. I think he would give Daboll and Schoen at least 2 more years after drafting THEIR guy, maybe 3. I dont think he would fire either if he was the one banging the table to keep Jones and Barkley. I tihnk he likes them and I dont think he wants to be quick to fire guys anymore.

Cousins has lost the top zip from his passes. Darnold did a great job today, and should only get better over the next three to four games (not suggesting the Vikings win those games). At best Vikings would have matched their output against the Giants.
At this point if you don’t think jones is the issue then you should stop watching sports. It’s over for jones and they will bench him sooner or later for Locke or devito. Jones's situation is just like Zach Wilson's situation both guys had coaching changes they couldn't developed properly. sure Jones i think has more potential then Wilson but right now coming off injury he doesn't look good.
None of this is on Daboll Lmfaooo defense was ready to play but got demoralized when they gave the offense the ball on the 20 and the offense can only score 3. Offense is demoralized to start with because Jones is there QB. But yeah fire Daboll because the giants still suck
