Today, the family and I went out to Livingston, Tx State Park K-3028 for a quick POTA Activation and a beautiful sunset.
Unfortunately, I didn't get the antenna up as high as I wanted. The height really needed to be a bit higher for better swr on 40 meters. I had some challenges trying to work and video at the same time.
Near the end, I started having issues with the radio shutting down. These are new batteries but I really haven't used them much. I'm not sure if it was the batteries or the radio just overheating. I was o lying running 35 watts, and the voltage was still at 13 Volts.
I ended up with about 20 FT8, FT4 contacts. The flies or Nats were horrible, and we were ate up.
We got to see a beautiful sunset over the lake.
