I once got the flu and my period at the same time. Emotions galore. Just so happened to be binge watching Game of Thrones. Ended up taking a video of myself crying about the fact that I had never been friends with a dwarf.

I got my period at 12:00 AM December 31st. Aka the literal start of 2016. We all yelled Happy New Year and had a bunch of friends over. I suddenly got a cramp, ran to the washroom and screamed bloody murder. All I hear from my mom "Looks like my angel started her period" she came upstairs to talk to me and found out. Walked downstairs and yelled "I was right! She's a woman!" I was congratulated by 20 people. No joke. Apparently moms like to share this stuff.

I want to say thank you for expressing that a period isn’t something to be ashamed of ( cuz it really isn’t! ). A lot of girls who get it are super embarrassed by it but really it’s just something natural. Tho it might suck, you got every single one of us girls by your side! lots of love ❤️

I covered myself with my jacket and told my teacher if she could step out for a second. I told her it was my first period and she was like 'girl I got you, if you want I could tell the office and they will send you home'. so my sister picked me up. My first period story, so after gym, I went to the bathroom before class started so I went to the bathroom and before I flushed I spotted something red in the toliet bowl and I looked in my undies and it looked like my downstairs sharted strawberry jam all over me undies. My first reaction was like, "I have entered adulthood." So after that the bell rang and I washed my hand and ran to my math class. I need access to a pad so I thought of some sad thought and started to tear up after that I grabbed my stomach and pretended to have a stomach ache (luckily it was the flu season so the teacher wasn't surprised when this came up) she wrote and note down and I went into the bathroom did some jump jacks to make my temperature higher so she would think I have the flu, and ran to the nurse saying I had a stomach ache. She advised me to use the bathroom in her room and behold, behold some pads. I stayed in the bathroom for a while and i didn't really know how to put a pad on, I got the pad with the butterfly thingys on the side but I didn't know to wrap them around the side so like half of the pad was sticky and half of the pad were the butterfly thingys. So the edges were like not sticking which I felt. And thats when I felt my first cramp I finished washing my hands and all the sudden it felt like I was punched in the stomach I started jumping around in the bathroom to lessen the pain. My pad was sticking on and it felt terrible when I came back to math class I felt like my period was leaking and everyone can tell that I was on my period

for my first period i was just like “welp this isn’t so bad” i wasn’t freaked out abt it bc i knew a lot abt it. *1 month later* OWWW WHY DOES MY STOMACH HURT. oh wait i’m having cramps. I THOUGHT I WAS LUCKY.

first period story i was 13 so i was like the only one in class who didn’t have it it was summer two hours earlier i prayed so hard that it would just start already because i was sick of not having it two hours later got my period new exactly what it was first texted my cousin then went and told my mom i’ve known about it since i was two so i was fine it hurt and also lasted for 11 days!!!!

I'd known about periods ever since I saw my mom's when I was four or five years old, so I wasn't too surprised when I got mine, even though we hadn't learned any of that in school yet. It was early January, still winter break, so there was no embarrassing school story. I already knew how to wear a pad, and my mom didn't make a big production of it. The only somewhat embarrassing moment was when a chaperone for our upcoming 4-day school trip called to ask if there was anything they needed to know about me (e.g. allergies, medications), and my mom told her I'd gotten my period. I didn't understand why she'd tell her. I kinda just thought that since it was something every girl got, they'd know automatically. I didn't really realize at that point that nine was considered early for a period, and that most of my classmates hadn't gotten theirs yet. I was very confused when we started learning about periods at school in fifth grade. I'd already had mine for a year by then, and I was wondering what the point was of telling us after the fact. On a side note, I did actually get my period on said school trip, and that was another embarrassing story. I had my period and really had to pee. We were in a place where there were no bathrooms. I asked a chaperone, who decided to give me a diaper-like thing. I was like, "but I have my period," and they assured me it was all right. So the chaperones literally guided me to put on a diaper, and then place my pad on top of that. I ended up holding it in (despite having already put on the diaper), because I just couldn't fathom how peeing inside my pad was in any way okay. I still don't get why they had me do that. The more logical solution would have been to shield me while I squatted to pee.

When I was 13 I started my period in the last hour of the day and I was wearing white pants and was going to go sharpen my pencil and then thank goodness for my teacher standing behind me because if not I would of litteraly had an angsiety attack but then she told me to sit back down and handed me a tampon I was so happy that no one else saw and I the best teacher ever she even followed my to my locker to get new pants and let me call my mom to pick me up I will never forget that teacher I would have been crying my eyes out out of embarrassment if it were not for her
