Yeah, Route 66 may be dead, but it still is fun to travel on I 40 and see all the old dilapidated stuff.

Most of America is going in the same direction as route 66.

Very nice to see the old tourist traps…. I just drove from Las Vegas through flagstaff to Albuquerque and now headed home to Kansas…. Missed the petrified forest as it was very cold rainy/snowy last night through there….

Hiya, I went to CA. in 1983 and took 66 where you could and set tent in an old a banded town out in the middle of know where it was something that I will never forget had a good time and enjoyed it , but these days if its not on the dumb phone getting hits knowone cares Now me and my brothers are going out on a road trip on our Harleys this summer and taking back roads to the grand canyon so we will be taking our time and enjoying the time together. only going to do about 300 miles a day and plan on stopping a lot to take pics of things, now I go more than they do they still work I retired and just take off when I want but now days you have to be more careful of your surroundings with everything going on , be safe and enjoy

I agree sir. Its a real shame. My friend is a 'pinstriper' we talk about this all the time. People in general are not the same. They can call me wierd or paranoid but just in simple transactions people feel you should throw in hundred of dollars of free stuff in when they are already getting a great deal. Its this ideology of FREE SHIT. I blame that on the government mostly. My friend had a guy want a 'estimate' for about a 12 inch high by 6 wide artwork on his deck lid. My buddy said to me "well its the off season i need to pay my rent and heat bills so I told him how about 75 bucks" The guy gets there and adds the hood, around handles and wants a saying written out on decklid. So when he tells them he needs 50 more bucks they go off on him saying he quoted 75 . Yes he did but for one piece! Sorry Pete I went off topic a bit. But i have 3 or 4 people in my circle ill help out but other than that I stay by myself. People are too greedy nowadays. What can you do for them! Have a great week Sir

i bought a 69 850 spider just like that for my gf,was next door. did all the body work and has that little 4cyl purring like a kittin.she was to scared to learn the stick,sold it. i bet the gas mileage had to of been 40 mpg or better?
