So, I’m at the part where you’re hiding and I’m in tears. When you say, you thought it was over, in my head I’m like, “I feel like people would taunt her and call her over dramatic if she said, ‘I thought I was going to die,’ but that’s the truth!” I think we as Americans are so far removed from violence...it doesn’t register to people in the way that it should. This was an act of domestic terrorism. This was a terrorist attack! It should shake us all to our very core that this occurred. My estranged “mother” was in DC. She is jobless, living in south Texas and has been unemployed for 10+ years but somehow managed to make it do DC for this insurrection. She was planning on going for at least a month beforehand. The FBI went to visit her (according to people who see her Facebook account) but I guess she was never in the capitol so nothing ever came of it. Regardless, the fact that I’m related to someone who supported this makes me ill. I am so glad you’re okay. My heart goes out to the families of the officers who lost their lives that day. I wish more people realized how serious this is and I hope to god the people who don’t and are somehow in charge are voted the hell out or forced to step down. This is unacceptable. This is important for me to say, and I think important for people to hear. I'm a vet. I don't agree with all of your politics. And that's ok, because that is how America functions. But the fact that you had to endure this kind of attack is shameful, and also infuriating. These people attacked their own government. And not for any justifiable reason. The people who threaten you are terrorists and un-American. People who threaten the lives of ANY public official are such. And it is my opinion they should be prosecuted and imprisoned without hesitation. We are dealing with the remnants of the single most subversive President (now ex-President) in American history. Attacking person after person on Twitter, and he knew what would happen whenever he mentioned ANYONES name. It wasn't a dog whistle. It was a BULLHORN. And that bullhorn was aimed directly at you as often as he could do it. I could go on and on about this but back to the subject at hand. I thought it important to tell you that many of us who wore a uniform did it because we love America and we believe in democracy. The fact that I don't agree with all of your politics doesn't mean I think you are a bad person. I think you are doing what you think is the right and best thing to do for America. Clearly a pile of lies. The Office buildings for the house and senate members are called the Longworth House and Cannon House. They are a block away on Independence, First and New Jersey streets SE. They are typically accessed via tramway tunnels beneath the ground. My understanding is the "rioters" entered only the Capital building itself. (correct me if I am wrong). The likelihood of AOC's office being threatened or even her floor being occupied by these people during the time frame of the riots is VERY VERY VERY small. I've been in these buildings. They are large, multi floored, expansive and a fairly reasonable distance from the capital. A fast 2-3 minute walk just to get to the front doors, which are passcode / key carded for entry. It's not easy to gain entry into these buildings. This poor child needs to get a grip on reality and HARDEN THE FUCK UP.

I happened to be watching CNN when this unfolded live. I expected it, of course. Like you, I saw the signs (no, not like you, experiencing personal threats . . . just me casually reading the daily news). If I, a white-haired old retired white lady in Atlanta knew this was coming . . . WHERE OH WHERE WERE THE POLICE?!?!?!?!! That's what I kept asking myself as I watched in horror as rioters came up the steps, climbed the walls, broke the windows and entered the building! WHERE! ARE! THE! POLICE!? And if I knew this was coming, why didn't they? Dear girl, thank you for taking care of yourself by sharing this, AND thank you for giving the rest of us an example to follow. If more of my generation had been this forthright, we'd be a lot further along today. Not many of us could have braved this intense heat, and I don't, of course, mean just on Jan. 6th. She's not lying about anything. 49:35 is when she says that it was actually a capitol police officer who came into her office. She stated clearly that she was in the Cannon Office Building, not the main Capitol, and she stated clearly that no rioters broke into where she was.

Maybe that cop was scared too & thats how he handles stress. There's no way to know for sure but my opinion is if he wanted to hurt you, he could've just left you in your office without warning you. The reason I think he might have just been scared or stressed is due to how I react when im scared or stressed. I won't go into details but years ago I had an incident with cops in which apparently I came off as defiant and confrontational. I didn't know this until after the fact when my sister told me. I wasn't trying to act that way at all, I was just scared and stressed & I guess my walls just come up and go into defense mode naturally.
