Thank you for your comments on the real impacts of trauma. What happened on Jan. 6th was traumatic for so many people- especially those in the Capitol that day.

What an amazing, brave, speaking truth to power young woman you are. I have a bit of that fierceness myself and it always makes me so proud when I see it in action. As a Black woman, I too have watched through the Trump nightmare presidency, the emboldening of white supremacists and white nationalists, as well as the "surprise" of White American citizens who "didn't understand until now," or who, "just thought that racism was exaggerated." I've listened to shocked and saddened people say, "This isn't who we are as Americans!" My immediate response back is, "It is EXACTLY who America is and has always been for a lot of us!" Watching that insurrection happen in real time was devastating. The one thing I took solace in was seeing that there were no Congressmen and women in the halls and chambers as they were being overrun. I MISTAKENLY believed you had all been successfully taken to somewhere safe within the Capitol, impervious to being found or harmed by the crazed mob. Hearing your accounting to Rachel Maddow of just how unsafe you all were, and how close you all came to being harmed or murdered, it pierced my soul! And not being able to feel safe in a safe room because some of your Republican counterparts would've likely given away your location... I. Cannot. EVEN!! It is terrifying. There will never be election cycles where one party rules (unless we are taken over by force). So what this means is, whether it's the presidency, House, or Senate, Republicans will be in control again at some point. With their full-on embrace of white supremacy, it will be devastating when they are in power at any point in the future. The hope and light that I do see is, people have begun to understand the power of their vote. I am SO encouraged by the Herculean efforts of people like Stacy Abrams and others inspiring and actively working to get people registered to vote. I want to cry in sheer happiness when I see people defiantly standing in line for hours to demand their vote be heard, cast, and counted. I look forward to the day that WE THE PEOPLE, with our multi-racial, multi-ethnic, multicultural selves become the combined majority and our votes finally overwhelm to the point that anyone who dares run for office will know the moment they play to a white supremacist, white nationalist crowd, it's the absolute nail in their political coffins. Stay strong, and don't stop doing you!!!

It's refreshing to hear a politician who actually cares about the human condition regardless of "politics". It's become abundantly clear that we need more people like this in charge of things.

Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, I hope you’re getting all the mental health support you need. I strongly encourage weekly psychoanalytic therapy sessions (or more). When a person finds a particular therapist that has a good dynamic with themselves, it’s the best strategy for healing and greatly improves quality of life. I hope every person in the world is able to have free access to this type of healing as soon as possible.

I was watching the Senate debate live through RU-vid through the view of Fox business when they broke in...I saw guns pointed at a window heard gunshots saw the gas, everyone was ducking, hiding and crawling. I didn't know if the young lady reporter would make it out safely. .From her point if view I saw no cops around helping didn't know where we were going! I was so traumatised I still feel it.
