Matt Rinella has launched a site called “hunt quietly” where he outlines what he feels are ethical responsibilities of hunters, that his brother Steve violates with Meateater and its content.
@ThomasCWiley which is absolutely crazy because Steve is so ethical it's crazy. The dude passed on catching fish with tribespeople because he felt the way they did it was like cheating. They used some crazy plant from the jungle that makes the fish paralyzed.
That is exactly why Matt is upset with him. It’s to many hunters and too few places to hunt. He is agianst land leases and farming for wildlife. He wants to see quality experiences for average hunters. Not just guys with deep pockets.
Steve Rinella is everything right with the outdoors. He is a great steward of the land. He is a conservationist. He is a teacher and instructor. He shares his experiences without prejudice. I love Steve and his content.
The problem is he talks about areas Hes in and it brings all these idiots who should not be out hunting into these areas in absolutely destroys it for everyone!!! we’ve hunted this one unit in Colorado for 20 years and some guy came in. And made a RU-vid video about the unit and it went from 300 people a year to 2000 people a season hunting in there!!!!!! And all these people were from out of state! And ruined heritage and tradition in this area for all the natives!
Yes Steve is but the rest of his crew that he has recently employed to fill his gap while he’s slowly backing away from meat eater are some of the most reckless rednecks .. I watched a hog hunting video where they spooked a mom off the babies went out of their way to stalk and kill the mom and then went back and laughed and poked at the babies and just left them to die .. didn’t dispatch the babies and had no remorse for the fact that they just caused those babies to either starve to death slowly or get eaten alive with no protection because they just went way out of the way to kill the mom .. I understand it’s an invasive species but that is the epitome of what meat eater is becoming now every time Steve is stepping away and if you can’t tell Steve really hasn’t been making much new content .. they’re contracting all their work out lately soon enough Steve won’t even be on this Chanel give it 2 years max
I have to say that Meateater is only hunting show that I do watch anymore. Went for years without watching any. At least Steve isn't a trophy hunter or a self promoter. He doesn't hunt animals with names that he's given them. He shows what real hunting is about including when he doesn't kill anything.
Thats why I enjoy meat eater because they have those moments. i was soo invested in a episode when he was going to moose hunt in Alaska and he didn’t get anything but ended up learning about his guide and the stories he told were just as cool
Dude Steve is like the most ethical and non flashy/trophy hungry guy in the hunting industry by far. He works his ass off on his hunts, doesn’t give locations away, respects his employees, etc. if anything I’d say he’s taught hunters that it’s not all about the horns it’s about the meat and the experience. He also utilizes the hell out of every animal he kills.
I don't even hunt or really care that much about it and have been listening to Meateater since ep 1. I don't think I am an anomaly and appreciate what Meateater is all about.
Hunted since a kid - meat for the family was my teaching - cousins hunt for horns but can’t process what they get or don’t get - go a whole season and nothing in the freezer
People like Steve rinella are needed to show what hunting does for wildlife his films show that animals shot are not wasted and definitely helps keep the anti views in check
Well you should watch Josh bowmar when he's hunting in Africa he talks a lot about the conservation and how their preserving the wildlife and nothing goes to waste and all those people they feed with all that meat from his harvest that's pretty cool but I love Steve he's a legend
Matt seems to hold the belief that by glamorizing hunting that you will bring in more hunters which he doesn't support but Steve supports. Matt is like that old school guy who doesn't like any new hunter because they don't hunt his way. Steve has done more for the hunting community than Matt ever has
Matt is that local public land hunter that everyone hates bc he thinks he owns all the land and if he finds you in his favorite spot he automatically becomes a Karen. Does that sound right? 😂
I agree. I've watched some of his interviews and he does have a distain for "new hunters" or people hunting areas that he likes to hunt even tho its public land@@bi7235
Only way hunting makes it long term is Steve's way. 2A people have abandoned hunting as an ally and now almost all openly admit 2A has nothing to do with hunting.
I dont have any dog in this fight, but literally steve- his books, his meateater series, etc- has actually motivated me to start hunting, become a part of land access initiatives, and emboldened my 2a stance.
As a fellow staunch 2a supporter, i always get a bit upset with how Republicans (the ones in congress, not your normal eveyday Republican) are so quick to be more or less anti public lands, i believe steve himself said it best "Democrats want to take my guns, Republicans want to take my land"
You do have a dog in this fight, actually. Matt is angry at Steve *because he inspired you to start hunting.* That's what this is all about; he wants to be the only one out in the woods, and the more hunters Steve inspires the "worse" hunting gets in Matt's opinion.
Same. Stop the gatekeeping and the drama around it. If you dont want the art to die out and you want others to experience putting meat on the table for their family without supporting an evil meat corporation, dont get pissy when people go out and take part in it.
And Matt is ok with that. He's standing up for his belief. Which to a point I agree. Everyone sees the glamour of hunting through social media and heads out to public land and it gets crowded and dangerous. Also the publicity of hunting is getting even more backlash from antihunters. It's a no win situation.
@@timhenrichshunting shows inspire and get kids hyped to want to do it. It gets the tv and video game generation off the couch and practicing their shooting and harvesting an animal and creating a memory. I use hunting tv shows for all sorts of reasons. New rifle ideas, new bullets thats on the market for a rifle i may want to get or already have, commercials for future purchases like camo or a blind or something new. There will always be cry babies out to shut you down and antihunters dont need a tv show to act ignorant. They lie left and right anyway so tv shows actually help show ethics in hunting to combat the lies made up by the antihunter and antitrapper sissies.
@@timhenrichs you could just as easily argue that demystifying hunting and hunters drives more understanding and less fear mongering towards it. We also have statistics that show the population of hunters isn’t growing nearly as fast as most here have claimed or been lead to believe. In 1960 there were 14 million hunters, now there are 15 million, but the total population has grown by nearly 90 million. That alone should make you question why Matt feels the need to virtue signal about “quiet hunting”, social media may put it on display more but the percentage of the population actively participating has never been lower, and that trend isn’t reversing.
It seems like trying to ruin your brothers company (ie livelihood) that he’s worked decades to build because you wish there were fewer hunters does in fact upset, stress and estrange families. Matt Rinella if you’re wondering “Am I the asshole?” The answer is yes, yes you are.
For Everyone confused from the short clip. Matt, has taken a stance against his brother Steve for the past couple years now; but has vocalized more than ever recently. Pertaining to how what he does as a content creator and business man behind the scenes, is only hurting the hunting, fishing, trapping scene; and it will soon be too crowded. He often reconciles on the fact that even years ago on public land, you will almost always see another spec of orange out there.
That just doesn't make sense because we are losing hunters at far greater numbers then ever before. The issue is people are losing hunting land federal government and state governments have sold millions of acres of public land in the past 10 years. Also the big outfitters are leasing federal BLM land and getting the hunting rights forcing people to pay thousands to hunt what should be open to the public.
There’s not enough hunters as it is and our numbers are declining. Why wouldn’t you want someone to come into the sport and learn how to hunt??? Just cause your public land hunt might be a little crowded???? Selfish and narcissistic
@@lildeaf777the problem is that you can’t even get tags anymore in the west. It used to be that you’d get to hunt something once or twice a year and now It takes three years for me to get one tag. It has nothing to do with crowded public land and moreso the fact that you can’t even hunt much anymore.
@@chadklaren9537yea i agree as we are losing land everyday. Its not helping, i also heard a rumor that alot of tree huggers are buying up tags amd putting in for quotas with no intenetion of hunting only to keep others from hunting but like i said its just hearsay. I used to be able to draw a quota hunt atleast 1 yearly and the last few years its been hard.
Matt is looking at the US. Steve is a global ambassador to hunting and conservation in countries where hunter numbers are drastically declining. Anyone here who hates on Steve for making money in doing so is a hard socialist There are public lands that have a high hunter density and some that basically have zero. Let’s promote and respect hunting those lands. Let’s promote respecting the over hunter public lands. He’s not wrong, but his message is on the extremism side of the line with a pinch of brotherly jealousy
Matt was on an episode of the meateater podcast like 2 years ago. He acted pretty childish the whole time. Refuses to admit when he is wrong even about little things. I understand some of his points but he doesn’t give any credit to all the good Steve and the guys so for conservation.
@@billmitchell2080he doesn’t commercialize anything. He just shares his own experiences hunting mainly public lands and shares it regardless of whether he got something or not. And he doesn’t promote sponsors or anything in his show
@@bpolly69 is this a joke? they take expensive products, put a meatearer sticker on it and sell it for triple. i think they were just selling a cutting board/knife combo for 500 dollars. im a steve rinella fan but dont get it twisted.
I understand where Matt comes from. People are not known to be good arbiters of the land. That being said, it was programs like meat eater and guys like Hanes that introduced me to this world that was foreign to me, and who better to introduce? It has become a passion of mine, something that has allowed me to connect with nature, inspire me to learn about these animals, the history of our country, states, hunting etc. It had inspired me to bring in my brother, and friends to this sport. It has brought clean and ethically harvested food home for my family. It has inspired me to begin to truly care for this land and engage with and support conservative organizations. It has completed me as a person and given me a purpose other than being a cog in the machine. I hope Matt and Steve can put their differences aside. It's a shame they're estranged
Imagine if you and your brothers played football everyday growing up..... and then one of your brothers goes pro and becomes super famous. Would you be upset? I sure as hell wouldn't
@@qcrew2938plenty of people are. Could even say the majority. Envy is human nature and that’s what you see here. Matt is a snob that doesn’t like people hunting public lands
Matt embodies so much of the toxic behavior in hunting that driving people away. Obviously not all of it, there is the whole social media aspect that he rejects, but he certainly does enough to hurt the culture.
I started hunting well before Meat Eater appeared. I watched a lot of hunting shows over the years. Watching Meat Eater was different. The stories were captivating, and relatable. The cooking at the end of the shows made a difference too. That’s the true celebration of a successful hunt.
Canada owns over 12 million acres of property, mostly forest, in the United States. 40 million acres of forest and farms are owned by foreign countries and investors. How's that sit in your craw? While numbers of hunters are down, so is the available property for hunting AND with the ability to support huntable numbers of game species. We all know that the quality of the environment is very low on the list of most humans, including so many hunters except when they are hunting. Conservative and Conservation are rarely in the same room together. We have had no Teddy Roosevelts in office since hisself. Montana had a huge Court judgement recently. Curious how that will turn out.
(From what I’ve seen in the comments, Matt wants to keep hunting out of the spotlight… and we all know Steve wants it front and centre in the spotlight.) A hunter who’s grown up around hunting is most likely going to side with Matt. Because of a fair few good reasons. 1. Public land gets more hunted and therefore makes it a little harder for the public land guy. 2. Putting hunting in the mainstream causes a lot of city folk exposure. City folk just aren’t USUALLY raised the same or have the same lessons young. 3. You get the backlash of anti-hunters. (This is a MAJOR one). There’s a REAL problem with the way Matt thinks tho, if you don’t have alot of passionate hunters… hunting will get to a point where they can ban parts of it to appease the city lunatics and no-one is there to push back.
A female hunter I learned to hunt reading Steve's book. I didn't even know how famous he was. I am grateful as a Native who was never taught to hunt. Game is part of my health and heritage as well as enjoying the land. It's nice to see his brother I wish them the best as brothers. ❤
@@cope4288here is another hard fact. One of the current political sides for the most part hates even the idea of hunting and in some states are attacking hunters/anglers ability to practice their sport. Educating and creating new hunters, even theough social media, is the only way you can fight this.
@@brett9382 that’s bullshit and everyone knows it. Hunting and fishing are back burner political issues as is land access unless you live in the west. The problem with recruitment is it creates more stress on the environment as a consequence of frequency, volume and intensity. Go defend that. Yellowstone is a great example. Outdoor rec marketing has turned that place into a shit hole because of the disrespect it receives from the frequency, volume and intensity due to newly recruited “outdoor recreationalists”.
@@cope4288 thats the national park service in general causing the issues like you say in Yellowstone. It has nothing to do with recruitment. I like the idea of national parks, but despise them. All they do is attract people and ruin them. If you think Yellowstone is bad go to Zion in Utah in June or July. Since covid Zion has seen more visitors than yellowstone. And its alot smaller. But like I said its all national parks.
@@helipilot4045 it’s a result of recruitment. The park service isn’t responsible for the increase in users. Marketing and recruitment by the outdoor rev industry are responsible.
Matt is a huge dbag. Steve has inspired so many people to do amazing things and so have alot of other "hunting personalities". People want to document their hunts and some end up making a killing on that because they do a great job. There are plenty of opportunities out there for outdoorsman. Much more than most other countries. Hunter recruitment is the only way to keep our rights to hunt.
I got into hunting due to Steve rinella and I'm grateful for it. I'm a better person, I've had some and hoping for more opportunities to spend time out in the woods with my son. And I've contributed hundreds of dollars directly to game commisions not to mention all the gear I've bought supporting all types of businesses. Matt's view is inherently selfish. Sorry.
haha. Nope. I'm a mish mash pleb. Shot my doe this year in a leaf suite over my work clothes. Whatever is affordable and cut out for the job gets bought. @@Dream-season
Steve is an absolute legend in the hunting community. He has brought more anti-hunting folks into the “pro hunting” category than anyone else. Not to mention the countless he has inspired to take to the woods. He is exactly what we need when this lifestyle could seriously be at risk within 20 years.
I watch ME all the time. I hunted with my dad as a kid now as an adult in 2 weeks I’m going in my first guided hunt. It will be the first time I’ve been hunting in 30 years.
Doing a little reading it seems Matt blames social media influencers for blowing up hunting spots, overcrowding and much more. There is a meat eater podcast covering this the article said.
There is a lot of truth to it, ive seen it not even from these top hunting influencers. But also feom all the forums and whatnot, ive seen stupid people blatantly telling people their best spots and yada yada.
I’m very new to even being interested in hunting and Steven and his show have done nothing but make me more excited to learn to hunt and make it a hobby of mine
Thing is with meat eater, there is no 20 min of commercials spamming sponsors for shit that does nothing but makes millions. We watch most eater because it litteraly is a hunting show. Numerous episodes Steve eats tag jerky. He stays connected to what hunting is to him and in turn it has brought back ALOT of people that wouldn't keep pushing. Hunting is about the experience not what an animal scores. The younger hunters have been completely ruined by social media and main steam "hunting" programs. Simple because the mainstreamers are owned by their sponsors so they have to do high fenced to get kills. Fuck it, comment is long enough. Let hunters hunt.
It's a difficult subject. On one hand you want more hunters and anglers to keep our sport, hobbie, passion and lively hoods alive and to keep it going for future generations because we all know there is certain entities trying to take it all away from us. But On the hand there is nothing more frustrating then fighting the orange army on opening day, less odds on drawing the tags you want, seeing social media hunters and anglers blowing up spots, less opportunities in general, i feel like being a hunter made you kind of unique and people were interested in you because of it but now everyone and their mother is a bow hunter lol Ideally you want more hunters just not in your spot...
@@HUNTRPOD i agree. Here in the PNW timber companies have made access a pay to play thing or just down right don't allow access at all. Would definitely help if the state opened up more gates but we also have dirt bag people that dump trash, recklessly shoot, driving off trail, etc etc. So i understand them not wanting people back there too.
Idk anyone who wants more hunters, at least not anyone here in Pennsylvania. There is already so many hunters out there, most of which are half retarded when it comes to hunting and operating a gun. You can't hunt public land in PA and not see anyone. My dad and grandfather used to tell me how when they were younger they would see a half-dozen to a dozen deer everytime they went into the woods...now you're lucky if you see any deer (on public land).
I got into hunting because of Steven Rinella. I understand the problem. I life in north east Germany where we dont have to many people but a good amount of wild game. Even here we see that hunting, fishing has become more popular. People wanna get that stone age feeling back which we lost throug the digital age. But I will never forget one specific thing that Steven Rinella said. Dont be to pickY with what you have in the beginning. If my only change here were to catch perch and I would be allready grateful. It doesnt have to be alwys the biggest stag.
Not being snarky at all. Genuine question. What did Steve do that took a dump on his brother? I remember a couple years ago when meateater went out on a big limb and published one of Matt's article stating his case against Hunter recruitment. That seems like a pretty big limb to go out on for the biggest outdoor Media company currently going. On The Christmas podcast from a couple years ago that sparked all this controversy, it seemed to me that Matt pretty much had an agenda and went on there to embarrass Steve. I'm not on anyones side on this deal. Just curious.
Matt’s whole stance is ridiculous, hunter numbers are declining because not as many kids are outdoors. The whole social media thing is ridiculous too, like if someone I know or any i follow on social media gets an animal good for them, I’ll toss them a like. It’s no different than the old photos our grandparents took of their bucks from way back in the day. Only difference is these people post it so family and friends can see it in real time. Everytime someone takes a pic of a harvest I always think hey we can look back at this photo and see that this season was a success
Steve desensitized the non-hunting community, and allowed them a new perspective, which in turn helps to make ethical hunting more acceptable and understandable. The hunting community needs this, because for most of us it is a passion, but not too long ago it was a nessecity. It is in our DNA, but society came up with a false narrative and made the majority of us believe that hunting is not a human trait - but it is.
He feels betrayed, ya because you betrayed him lol you want him to quit his whole lively hood because you suddenly don’t agree with everything he does, Matt was on meat eater at least twice, but know because his opinion has shifted Steve’s suddenly a bad hunter and a crappy person. It’s sad 🤦♂️ if you listened to the meat eater podcast that Steve allowed him to be on the guy honestly just sounds angry and jealous which is to bad cause on the meat eater episodes he appeared on I thought he was pretty cool.
Steve Rinella is my hero. My dad died when I was 8 and he loved the outdoors and hunting And fishing all of his life. I mean, this man used to go camping for 2 months at a time In Alaska, before I was born. I have pictures and videos to show it but he was in bad health when I was a small child so I didn't get to go with him very many times. If it hadn't been for Steve, I still may know nothing about all the things that my father love to do because he wasn't around to teach me.
Randy Newberg posted a deer hunt in the exact camp where I hunted with my kids for decades. The hunting pressure in that general hunt sky rocketed. The deer quality declined greatly. The pressure was tremendous, and the animals are always freaked out. The otc archery hunt was worse and non residents pressure was up by quadruple. Guides flooded the unit and now the hunt is unrecognizable. A general hunt. An easy basic hunt just ruined. Those influencers are hot garbage.
A guy complaining about hunting social media influencers, while complaining about it on a social media influencer podcast! - FYI Love Steve and his crew!
Matt is jealous of Steve and is tearing his own brother down. Matt doesn’t like new hunters and is being a gate keeper to hunting. The more people that hunt the better it is for hunting. Steve and Randy are great ambassadors for hunting.
LMAO how is more hunters in the woods better for anyone? these guys sale you this nonsense because they want more hunters for more business so they can be successful in monetize hunting. Steve is a millionaire by now from it.... Phelps comes out with a new call and it fly's off the shelves. It not about hunting my friend. Truth be told these guys have damaged hunting. It's becoming only for the elites thanks to all these new hunters. Open your eyes, opportunity is being lost because we have too many hunters jumping in. Everything is going to become draw sooner than later. Places like Idaho don't need more hunters, hunting is in the states constitution. they defeated the anti's decades ago.
That Christmas podcast episode that Matt was on was great! Finally someone spoke a little truth to Steve and so publicly at that. Most of Matt's points are well founded especially over the long term. But just "get up earlier" or "go deeper" eventually won't cut it.
There is a huge disconnect now in the hunting world, people don't realize hunters still support their families by putting meat on the table, not just trophy hunters
Steve Rinella is a breath of fresh air. He promo hunting in the most positive way possible and doesn't toot his own horn like most of them. ( Team Fitzgerald). I wish him all the best.
What is the CONTEXT, for this short? I take it, this is Matt? Steve-Meat-eater's brother? Worse than Click Bait, this was! DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA WHY? WHAT? Absolutely ZERO attempt to explain the WHAT.......... Popcorn is Popped and Buttered...! Sibling Rivalry, posted for the masses..."Woe is me! My Bro is more popular!" If you gonna air dirty laundry....at least give us the Clothes Line or Clothespin?
So, the fact that I never knew Steve had a brother at all says volumes about the positive impact and kindness that comes from Steve in all his interactions with everyone on his show. Nothing against Matt but what positive impact has he produced for hunters and non hunters?
I mean. I know Steve. I have meat eater episodes saved I sleep to and use for background noise. I didn't even know he had a brother. From what I've seen and read of Steve he is everything I want to be as a hunter. I mean he's and clays moose hunt had me in tears.
As a former professional cameraman and producer for many outdoor shows, I can say that it’s all about the money. I have witnessed good intentions turn to product placement overnight. Lies, back stabbing and immoral behaviors is why I got out of it. I refused to be a part of that scene anymore. They thank Jesus as they are lying, breaking game laws and cheating on their wives. Sad.
It seems to me that the issue is over crowding. There was a steady decline of hunters and with that an increase in game. Now that those numbers have risen due to the popularity of hunting personalities people are upset that there won’t be as many tags, land and opportunities as there once were. But on the same note we need hunters to hunt. Land management is crucial for the survival of the species we know, love and want to harvest. I think another thing that has ruined it for a lot of people is greedy landowners and old fudds that cut off access or buy up land and make it private. We should be advocating for more public land and better hunter to hunter interactions above all.
How would one not feel betrayed? I support Matt and his opinions. Simply put, Matt would not have a voice if not for Steve. No one would care about his thoughts at all. For him to use his position to discredit his younger brother is trash. Family should take priority over your precious Elk hole.
Actually being family shouldn't force you to be a "yes man" that's what friends are for. Family is supposed to tell you hard truths. I doubt Steve is actually mad about it and is just protecting his brand, more or less. Just because Steve's fame gave Matt a voice doesn't mean he needs to live his life voiceless. That's the point of the 1st amendment. Even the meekest among us and non-famous have a right to speak.

Steve shows at least as many failures as successes, and he also is very clear about when and how they screw up." MeatEater is awesome!
Everyone deserves the opportunity to hunt or fish. If being in a spot where u don't see any other hunter or fisherman is important to u pay up and join a lease or get a boat . Its definitely money driven... and if ur only doing it for the trophy ur being greedy and ur part of the problem. Just a country boys opinion..

Matt is 100% correct. Meateater has lost what made it so great. Ever since they sold out ,you see less and less of Steve. Now they are selling board games. Lost what made them relatable.
It's just a money maker now, which is fine provided you maintain quality as it pertains to content. Steve is the brand. @@somerandomgamer1260 No more ironic than the fact that Matt continues to hunt - if he believes that not everyone that would enjoy it should hunt because there's not enough room and find a different hobby... then he could just find a different hobby - obviously he is no less disingenuous than my statement is ironic. Also, FYI, # hunters has declined year over year for quite some time, so the premise most of his arguments are based on is verifiably false.
Every human being in the world has the right to hunt. Most do not. To take a stance verbally as it pertains to not glorifying hunting because there will be "too many who hunt" is insanely ridiculous.
Here’s the thing. It’s always on my mind. Monetizing the outdoors used to be selling game meat, hides, skulls etc… Now it’s Meateater, Hoyt, Simms, etc… The industry has filled the woods with social media trophy hunters with too much money. And it sucks for the regular folks who would sell their soul before the sold their most prized asset. Aside from family of course. Steve is a sellout and that’s a fact. I love his show and the people he works with. But the trade off is woods filled with folks who would be better off financially to buy grass fed meat but still hunt because they see it on tv and social media. It’s bugleshit.
I have one clear advice to all hunters in the US. Do whatever you can to buy your own hunting property because it will be close to impossible to hunt on public land in a not so distant future and you can be totally sure that your grandchildren will have zero access to public hunting some decades from now.
According to the research that I just saw hunting numbers have went up and recent years, but are still down from the all-time high, which was in like 1982. There are roughly 1,000,000 or so hunters less than they used to be. And the data shows that hunters are declining.
Oh ya I got something last September that I thought I was done! Couldn’t walk dizzy for 3-4 weeks. Then just gone! No clue what it was. I have had no shot. But damn whatever that was is nuts! That made the Covid I had feel like a walk in the park. But I kinda wondered if it stemmed from that Covid crap.
A "tough stance" aka being stubbornly opinionated about sharing information with people. If Matt had it his way he would be the only person allowed to hunt PUBLIC land.
I like the fact that Steve has opened allot of younger people’s eyes to the hunting world. When the older hunting generations die off. There won’t be enough people into it to keep it from getting banned. We gotta keep that flame lit.
Matt is allowed to be a hunting celebrity, but no one else can, because they take photos and try to encourage people to hunt. But if he encourages people not to hunt while hunting it okay. Potatoes ain’t tomatoes, even if you paint them red.
I feel like being a content creator and being a public figure in the eyes of a lot of people wouldn't only help increase the amount of people that would love to help build bigger and better hunting areas and population but is going to also bring more people that want to do the right kinds of hunting like leaving the little bucks to grow and being more selective in what they take
What's the issue or argument here? I don't get it. The dude brought up the fact that the two brothers don't talk anymore and then never elaborated as to why.
Meanwhile here in Australia, a few years ago, they changed the bag limit on sambar deer from one a day to unlimited, and you could live n die out in the bush without ever meeting anyone
Its a complex issue. On one hand we need awareness on hunting/conservation and a healthy population of hunters. On the other hand hunting is being glamorized to death and public land access is now over-run with hunters. Being from Louisiana it doesn't affect me much. Hunting has always been extremely competitive and crowded here. If you can't afford private land you can expect to deal with dozens if not hundreds of pickup trucks in public land parking lots.
Some of his complaints about commercializing hunting are legit, but the way he came out against hunting media was dumb. Alienating Steve was going to be the only result.
I travel to MT on a regular basis, all over the state really, St Regis to Sydney and quite literally everywhere in between.
