If you have more time, drive or take the train all the way to Montreal/ Quebec. The train, if you opt for it, can be boarded at Union Station in Toronto and would take you barely 2.5 hrs to reach. Quebec feels like a diff country...very European. Check out the walled city of old Quebec and visit the miraculous church at Ste Anne de Beupre where you will see many crutches of people who miraculously walked again hanging on the church pillars. On the way there or back if you are driving, swing by Ottawa, the country’s capital and its a very small, walkable city.
Toronto has many pockets. Go to Chinatown for authentic Chinese. Koreantown for authentic Korean, Gerrard Street next to Chinatown for Indian food, Little Italy and Greektown. If you go north towards Markham, it would feel you are somewhere in Asia or HongKong..even the signs will be in Chinese. Of course, if you miss home, Bathurst St. is Filipino town....where all great pinoy food and supermarkets can be found.
