My school put on the musical Newsies this year! Newsies is about the paper newsboys of New York in 1899. When the price of papers increased, they went on strike in defiance of the king makers of New York. In the musical, Jack Kelly leads the union and they aim to defeat Pulitzer with the help of one Kathrine Plumber. Together they sing incredible songs, make stirring speeches, create beautiful bonds, fall in love, and make history.
I was on set construction and stage crew this year so I took you along with me for the building of the set and then closer to the shows performance, I captured some of our rehearsals and what it's like backstage during a show. it all started out smoothly and seemed to be that way until the Corona Virus threw us all threw a loop and took us on an emotional roller coaster.
I am so glad I joined this year because I made incredible friends and met soooooo many new people that I'm so glad to have in my life. 270 hours of work was well spent because we all did incredible! I am going to miss all the seniors next year and I can't wait to see what next year has in store. Stay tuned for more musical moments to come!! :)
