True crime. Real justice. "48 Hours" investigates the most intriguing crime and justice cases that touch on all areas of the human experience including greed and passion. "48 Hours," which premiered in 1988, has developed a rich history of original reporting and impact journalism that has helped exonerate wrongly convicted people, caused cold cases to be reopened and solved, and along the way changed lives.

I thought about going then got outside and something told me no. So, i told them i was good and she started pulling my arm begging me making a huge scene. Im glad i changed my mind. As someone who partied a lot in my younger years, here is my two cents. Some ppl get very violent and aggressive when intoxicated. After a few drinks, the slightest thing will set them off. Its like Jerkyl and Hyde thing. The victim just ran into one of those guys. And the perps sh itty friends helped him cover it up. I have seen some of those types (men and womem) in my day and it can be a jaring experience. One minute you are having a good time, another minute they are picking a fight with the bartender, the bouncer or anyone. Thats why i dont hang out socially with ppl i dont know. And i avoid anyone who gets aggressive when drinking and try to exclude them from my social circles. Such ppl once drinking are a ticking time bombs. If it wasnt this poor guy, that dude would have eventually killed someone else intoxicated.

I don't know how these boys only got 20-something years for committing such a brutal and senseless crime. Where is the death penalty for such actions. As a parent, I'd have a hard time not going after those kids during the trial. What a horror to live through...heartbreaking.

I don't think New York has the death penalty. No exceptions are made for the death penalty in a state. They either have it, or they don't.

The sad part they get to have a life after 20 years ! Their victims never get a chance to come out of death and be with their family ! Death deliberately done must always have the death penalty and it must be carried out before 5 years is up or immediately with absolute proof DNA AND MULTIPLE WITNESSES !

Never ever go and hang out with people you don`t know or you barely know. Especially where there is alchohol consumption or drugs. You can easily become a target if anything happens or goes wrong. My heart goes out to his family and friends. He didn`t deserve to get his life taken away in that manner. You have my deepest condolences. May he rest in eternal peace. 😞😓

I think people give this message to guys much less than they give it to girls.

@@MTSN-hp9th 💯 A show like this could address the dangers to young men in partying with people you don't know in an unfamiliar location. Maybe this whole show does that, but not very overtly.

Why is no one just simply advising against doing drugs and drinking alcohol? Any place or persons connected to these things can never bring forth any good. How many more millions of people need to die before this concept gets in people's heads?

Can only admire the determination of Joey's friends and dad, without them tracking down everyone police might have never found out what happened and who was involved.

Police would do the same - but later. The friends bring time advantage. Too many witnesses around.

I'm not sure what happens in the afterlife, but if there is a chance that human connections on earth extend beyond death I can't imagine two people more likely to eventually be together again than Joey and his dad.

really horrible to happen to such a young man that has his entire life ahead of him. He was stunning looking too... But seeing the father's pain is horrific to watch.
