The man with glasses is Josep Maria Bartomeu. The members of Barça made him a motion of censure for his infamous management. The partners went to the polls and it was voted that he could not continue leading Barça. There were elections and Joan Laporta won and now he is trying to get the club out of a difficult situation.
As a United fan, losing Ronaldo in 2009 was tough.. but its not the same as Barcelona losing Messi. Messi is in the fabric of Barcelona. I also don't understand how badly they treated Leo near the end of his career in Barca.
@@dyeace They literally kicked Messi out saying that his wage was to high to be paid… even Messi himself only asked for 25% of the original amount. And then Barca signed Lewandowski for 45M, which is 4x Messi’s wage 😂

That would be economically the end of barca and a few seasons later barca could not compete because other clubs are going to sign these players as barca can't keep them. @@FDOR dude being a barca fan it really hurted seeing Messi leave in this video...and bartomeu was a bonafide fraud...destroyed our beloved club 😭😭 now hope Xavi and co. can lift the club to great heights again
Summarized: The Neymar sale money was handled disastrously. It was used to buy Dembele, a pretty good player but who didn’t show up to training on time and was prone to injuries, and Coutinho, a player forced into the wrong role. With signing after signing and with ludicrous wages to boot, Barca now have more debt than some countries do. So much so that they couldn’t even extend Messi’s contract in 2021 and he had to leave.
@@fos4324 If Barça had not spent huge amounts of money on dubious transfers, the management of La Liga would not have taken such measures. In fact, La Liga saved the club from bankruptcy.
I was a Barca fan before Messi, then became a Messi fan in his time at Barca... When Messi left, my heart left with him. I don't think I'll ever be a real fan for a club anymore cause I miss the old Barca too much, but I'll always be a fan of Messi.
I am a Madrid fan through bad times and good times But to turn your back away from Barça is being a fake fan… Messi is a legend but he’s not above Barça…
Well, as Barca fan, I started loving them from the old days, when Ronaldinho was playing. When he left it was sad, when xavi left it was hurt too, but in the end of 2017 and the start of 2017/18 season, I cried that Neymar left, but when Messi??? That was real heartbreaking. Wish 2012 Barca was still playing😕
Perez ? I think he is one of the masterminds behind the play game that destroys Barcelona Perez is just play fake friendship He is more dangerous than uefa president Just watch
Yes since 2013, when Bartomeu took over. Fc Barcelona has slowly went to downfall. Is Bartomeu actually so stupid, that buys expensive players for so big price who do not even fit the team properlly, like buying Griezmann, while keeping Suarez would have been better, when Suarez fits the team better and Bartomeu so stupid, that sold Suarez for small price back to Atheltico Madrid, while Suarez is better, than Griezmann and then buy Coutinho to not use him properlly to just send him out then. He so stupid to buy only players for expensive prices who do not fit the team, while ruinning La Masia where he could get great players for cheap price. Bartomeu is like watching 7 year old kid manage big football club by just buying expensive players to waste your all money who do not even fit the team properlly.
Possible florentino paid bartomeu to destroy Barca and do everything wrong. Just remember Juventus elimination, Buffon red card on last minute the same of Marcos Alonso goal of Chelsea. Florentino paid for UCL because Xavi humillated on el clasico. Football is politics, Barca is Catalonian.
The spending on Dembele, Greizmann and Coutinho was absolutely bananas...to be honest now Barca is only left with bananas. It will take a massive effort to rebuild Barca.
@@yaboiamko2196 Messi carried at Barça it’s true, but paying THAT much a player just because “he is the best player in history”, it’s absolutely crazy management from Bartomeu. 400millions for 3 players is crazy too. There were better ways to spend that amount of money. And if you pay so much the players it’s obvious that can’t work
The big thing was when PSG lured Neymar away from the club for a record fee that's worth the sale really, all I heard was about how within Barcelona there was great concern about "their image", "looking weak", particularly the last one. The idea that a flush club could just come in and take their stars. Neymar wanted to go because he didn't want to play second fiddle, it was a move made out of his ego. To get such a princely sum for someone who had that attitude was A GOOD THING. But it was responded to by stuff like "image awareness", etc. Stupid stuff like that. The way they reacted was like they were saying Neymar was bigger than the club and they desperately wanted to replace him with marquee signings they desperately hoped would turn out to be more successful, first Dembele, then Coutinho. They were very good players, the kinds of players who could fit in well at a club like Barcelona, but not great. They were bought to be great, that word again, desperately. The most tragic thing that happened through all this was Barcelona forgetting their identity. The club that sold monsters like Romario and Ronaldo and carried on to even better times, particularly the early 2010's, completely panicking because they sold what could arguably be reasoned as their third best forward? Messi was obviously top, but between Suarez and Neymar, they're both pretty excellent. You could argue Suarez slightly edges it, they bring some different things so it's hard to compare but if you were to say either was better the other wouldn't be far behind. Suddenly Barca were insecure about "their image", when they had sold players who were more important to the cause many times before and success still came after. This is when Barca, horrifically, started being less like Barcelona and more like Real Madrid-lite. A team obsessed with global image, obsessed with having big players for big money, suddenly thinking that losing their stars were the end. The Barca way has always been signing a livewire, and then guys like Seydou Keita who don't get the plaudits but certainly earn their place. Barca were never afraid of attracting players, missing out on players, or losing players. It's the nature of the game, these things happen. Bartomeu instilled a viewpoint of marketing philosophy over matter. Barcelona were never about that, they were just about beautiful football. In the Bartomeu era no way would they have given the go ahead for a livewire like Samuel Eto'o who performed well for mid table Mallorca. Not "high profile enough". Barca used to make players high profile, they didn't get on their knees and beg for them.

It felt weird not seeing Messi at Barcelona, but the club had really bad contracts and couldn't afford to have Messi. Some good came out of it, Messi is winning championship and Barcelona got Lewandowski.
it's honestly weird after barcelona sold neymar, barca known for use their La Masia and created lot of world class talent from there yet none of the talent from there breakthrough to 1st team during that period until recently, and instead trying to copy real madrid transfer style by overspending transfer on star player
Real have never overspent. Theur spending has always apt for the market value at that time. Hazard, Ronaldo, Bale were all the best players at their positions before their move to Madrid. But Dembele, Coutinho. Griezmann price was alright but you guys never used him to his best.
The la masia thing is overrated. Only Iniesta xavi and messi became world class..the others could easy be replaces. There's atleast a list of 50 la masia players they tried to push but all failed and don't even hear of..only pedro is lingering here and there.

"What we learn from history is that no one learns from history". Barca instead of learning from their mistake of signing Dembele and Coutinho, they have extended the contract of Dembele once again
Dembele accept the fair deal, thanks to sissoko quality of negotiation hahaha. barca should be greatfull that no clubs interested buying dembele because of sissoko weird demands. And no, barca need 2 rotation players in each winger position. Left by ansu and Ferran, while right by Dembele and Raphinha(was by Adama). it works because they need to manage player's fatique. They still need to look at their wingback, no good depth in that area.

I never thought that Barcelona's financial situation would be this serious... This is why Messi gave up on returning to Barcelona and moved to the United States...
I remember hearing and reading everywhere hard critisism about Hernesto Valverde,...You know, the coach that won 2 championships and went twice to the semi finals, Without having Xavis and Iniestas, without any major transfers and of course without Neymar, who was sold last moment, bringing an injured unknown player as a replacement. A diehard fan of Barcelona from childhood only for Messi playing in the team...but eventually when did I love the club itself, o didn't understand...really sad to witness such conditions of Barcelona now
The cause of all this is Bartomeu, Bartomeu is like a demon who managed to disguise himself as president of Barca to destroy Barca itself by making unreasonable transfers such as the purchase of Coutinho-Griezmann-Dembele for a total of 400 million euros and the results all flop
The problems started way back. By 2012 and Def 2013 the Tika taka style was done....but they were drunk on it. They then went on splurging spree to make the team win which worked out for a season or 2 with neymar and suarez. By 2017 the warning signs was there against psg and the juve. The likes of busquets pique etc was being exposed after the tiki taka and departures of xavi and Iniesta. Instead of going into a season or 2 of rebuilding they forked out new contracts to these guys with ridiculous salaries who were already showing they losing competitiveness. They focused only on attacking players and went overboard in doing so instead of building a team with defenders and midfielders. Hence they became a team to bash since 2017 until now.
Yes Their fall actually started from last season of guradiola. It was in 2012 messi scored most goals in his career but it was not the best year of barca. With the arrival of neymar barca had a temporary comeback in 2015,but it didn't last long. Their best period 2008-2011
