What Happened to BESTie ‖ The Girl Group Made Out of Former EXID Members 

Honestly I had no idea they had former EXID members. They deserved better. Excuse Me will always be my favorite song by them. It’s so cool how one of the Fifty Fifty members looks up to them when the group wasn’t that popular and most people nowadays wouldn’t have a clue about them. I heard a rumor that many of their title tracks were potential SISTAR tracks but were rejected by starship, which kind of explains the similar "summery" vibes many of their songs share, but whether its true or not BESTie is truly THAT group of girls- to this day I'm shocked that they dont blow up despite their level of talent, VISUALS, and amazing songs 😞 Also their choreography is so freakin' catchy, it makes watching the live performances a must. There are even many korean communities that wonder why BESTie didn't reach a higher level of popularity. I feel like "Love Options" is usually the song that many people bring up in conversations about BESTie, but "Excuse Me", to this day, gives me chills every time I listen to it. It's truly a classic summer song that NEVER gets old 😞✊ any of their songs tbh lol

Also, is needed to comment that U Ji was, at that time, and still is, for me, one of the greatest female vocalist in Kpop. That girl can sing!

BESTie was such a hardworking group. I remember when they 3 (4?) comebacks in one year. They tried so hard. It’s sad they never got wider recognition.

Brave Brothers absolute genius was the trifecta of Bestie “Love Options”, Stellar “Crying” and Dal Shabet “Someone Like You”. Too bad they were so underrated at the time because these songs are still bangers today

in Excuse Me, two of the male actors (the ones who played as a couple) are Inseong and Seoham! YNB had a male group too, they are called KNK (YES, those super tall boys) and Inseong is still part of it. it's kinda interesting to see how KNK were able to sign with a new company as a FULL group after YNB closed its doors AND release their biggest hit under the new agency but BESTie disbanded...

I used to listen to Excuse Me on repeat back when it came out but I had no idea they had EXID members, that would explain the vocal talent! Always appreciate this channel shining light on groups who deserved it when they were around

Bestie and Nine Muses were my favorite non mainstream groups. I often compare them to Sistar especially when Brave Sound started producing there songs. They had the potential.

They could've been so big, they got that star quality and potential. But imo due to Dahye unfortunate accident i think the company was struggling to sustain itself while waiting for her recovery since bestie was their only income. By the time Dahye recovered they lost most of the fundings for their comeback, the public already forgot about them, and their hype kinda died down, so thats why their disbandment is inevitable.

Please do Exid's career from their debut to their 10th years anniversary last year. Exid such an underrated girl group from their era, 3rd Generation. Exid deserve much more recognition for their music and talents. Exid also struggling a lot throughout their career before Hani's fancam of up & down went viral. Thanks for always making a great kpop content❤!

I cannot express how bad the hate they got was…. one classic case of the public connecting the dots they had and that was like not 5% of the facts. For everybody, domestic and international KPop fans, all it looked like was that EXID had a plagiarism scandal, they jumped ship and took their individual fanbases to another company - to make things worst when was made public that lots of the songs were rejected SISTAR tracks they became a joke as the “handout group” or “leftovers group” like the hate was INTENSE and totally unjustified. Excuse Me is on my summer playlist to this day, they deserved so much better.

Honestly, Bestie was the first group that introduced me to kpop and I thought they were a very talented group with amazing songs, I'm always grateful to know them. I remember back in 2018 hearing Pitapat and Love options and falling hard for them. Always surprise me how they weren't very popular with amazing talent and songs, but ironically they are the first kpop group that I ever heard.

Actually, the way it's told UJI, HYEYEON, and HAERYUNG didn't leave due to personal/acting/school (yes, it was just pretended to) in fact. The company broke the contract with shinsadong tiger, due the plagiarism accusations. However the contract for EXID was splitted with their producer and with the company, those three members were signed with Tiger and the remaining members were with the company. Consequently, the members were just thrown away and they needed to somehow hunt other opportunities. This is why the members split half and half, and half of the members "suddenly" signed into the same company.

omg thank you for this. I love them since high school! Love Options is my fave! Uji is my bias that time but love them all equally. They had a good discography but sadly they were soooooo underrated. So glad that they were still a lot of people acknowledge their music and talents. Hope they're doing well and praying for their success.

I actually was an OG fan of EXID, even from the debut teasers (I was big on all the new groups in 2012, having started listening to K-Pop in 2009), and I was definitely hooked on them. And I’ll admit, I was completely upset when the three members left and upset after seeing them change companies. I think they might be telling some of the truth, that they wanted to do other things, but with how EXID also left AB Entertainment a little after, I think it was a company thing. But ironically, when they added Solji and Haelin, I actually got a unique connect to the group. Haelin and I share the same birthday, August 23, 1993 (which means we just turned 30th last month. And I think they picked out great idols who really caught the original spirit of the group (and fixed the dreaded 6 member lineup every group thinks they need nowadays, despite its ruins dances). I hope we’ll for all 9 of these girls.

They were pretty much doomed from the start. I remember most of the comments under their videos were bashing them because of their history with Exid, people being excited that they were not very popular, while Exid blew up. Also their concept did not help, since they were pretty much being compared to groups like Sistar, Girls day and AOA, and there were a lot of comments about them copying other groups. Their songs are very catchy and I always enjoyed their comebacks, but I was always surprised that they even were active for so long.

This video is amazing and very informative. I met bestie at the end of 2021 with 'excuse me' and it was a song and mv that I loved so much (it has a lot of 2015 kpop vibe) but I was really sad when I found out that this was their last song before the disband. 😢 And it's a shame that such a talented group with so much potential ended so abruptly

I miss BESTie so much 😭 thank you for this video! I found them through Love options and have been a fan ever since. I always thought of EXID split because half of the members were signed to the label and the other half was signed with the producer (heard this story in another video ages ago). I always dreamed of an EXID and BESTie collab stage 🥺 I wonder if their career would have taken a different turn if the label had promoted two of the girls as a subunit during Dahyes ankle injury 😟

I enjoyed their songs and had hoped they would make it and stay together. But they never seemed to have much cohesion and seemed fractured as a group. Maybe too much energy going in different directions. Sounded great together, but members were too individually independent, rather than interdependent.
