Speaking of Lumine's claim about "Dain standing by while the people he was supposed to protect turned into the Monsters of the Abyss"...I actually put emphasis on that because of a fascinating theory that Wei introduced to me so I'm gonna write on that soon enough. Probably.

With the erasure of Rukadevta and Scaramouche I'm curious about what other false things we're taking for granted in the lore. Like, we saw King Deshret was corrupted by forbidden knowledge. Is it possible that Khaenri'ah wasn't an atheistic nation, but rather that's how it was re-written after a potential Eighth seat fell to the abyss/forbidden knowledge and was wiped from Irminsul? The god having been attempted to be written out end up as the 'Sinner' and that be why Clothar felt the need to take the knee?
@mitab1
@mitab1 Год назад
That's actually an interest theory, it could also explain why he says that he's no god, because he's no longer one of the gods, and it also brings the question, why or how did 7 seats open in Celestia? Like did they add 7 more seats or did they got rid of some gods witch left their places empty in heaven

That'd be kinda... shit IMHO? I think them being atheists makes them very unique in the world of genshin, where gods do really exist, and it is pretty vital to their nation's story as well. (It's the reason i kinda hate the theory that Deshret is Irmin as well) So having that not be the truth is kinda... eh? Why take one of the only truly atheistic nation and have them actually *not* be atheists? I think Khaenri'ah having not believed in any gods makes them bowing down to the Sinner (and maybe even Irmin? It really seems to me they almost treated him like a god) far more interesting. They claim to hate gods yet here they are, bowing down to a thing they claim to be one.

Dain thinks the Abyss is an evil force that caused the downfall of Khaenriah, Lumine thinks that the GODS caused the downfall of Khaenriah, and that the Abyss is what will save them. At least thats what I've concluded from the quests so far. I still think that Caribert returned to human form at the end of the quest, had the curse lifted from him, and proceeded to have a human descendants that ended up in Kaeya. Seeing that the Abyss have lifted the curse from Caribert, Clothar decided that the Abyss has the power to challenge the will of the Gods, and created the Abyss Order.

The big elephant in the room (that NO ONE seems to talk about) is how exactly did Lumine become the "Princess"???? This is driving me crazy. That title is quite specific. We are still missing some vital data. Like maybe BOTH Lumine and Aether are from this world perhaps? They came back to Teyvat far in the future like Planet of the Apes or something.
@keroberusr.9687

I just presume the abyss sib woke up 500 years before we did. Playing Lumine, you find that the flower in your hair is a petrified extinct flower from Khaenri'ah and that Aether put it there, meaning your sibling was watching over you while you slept (?) So maybe as a descender, the title of Prince/Princess is honorary due to the deeds you may have done for the kingdom? Like Honorary Knight. 🤷🏻‍♀️ my 2 cents
@mehlol2
@mehlol2 Год назад
The things I understood from the Caribert quest was : Lumine and Dain went to Sumeru, near the chasm. There was some leylines disorder and while Lumine was asleep, Dain went to check and see if it's fixeable. When she woke up she met Clothar (hidden under the name Eide) and there I have a theory : - she became the princess after meeting him : the moment he said that he thought she would help them, and especially the talk about the Loom of Fate, became the catalyst for her change (noticed by Dain) and so she took some time to think, finishing exploring Teyvat and then came back to him to officially become the princess after seeing how everything is bad (she tells Aether to finish his journey and reach the same conclusion as her after all). It means tho that Clothar already knew that she was supposed to be the princess of his Abyss Order. - But then, there's also the fact that him saying it's normal she doesn't know him because she was too important in Khaenri'ah (compared to the Alberich, which is strange if you think about it cause they were technically very important nobles and then regents but that's also a question of timeline of when they became). Since they fell to Teyvat because they answered the calls of whatever it was then she was either considered a "savior" that would bring idk prosperity or avoid danger or stuff like that. And maybe that explains why he said that he thought she of all people would not deny them, and even help him free Khaenri'ahns of the curse, because she's their "savior". - It's unlikely she was already a princess though, cause she's the princess of the Abyss Order (not the Queen as pointed in the Caribert quest) so there was a succession from Clothar to her. In short : my theory is she became the princess after finishing exploring Teyvat, came back to Clothar, inherited the title (becoming the princess then) but he had already decided she would be the princess because he knew her from Khaenri'ah as she was important (maybe a "savior" because she fell to Teyvat after answering a summoning or something) Also sorry if it's kinda messy I tried my best to explain lol
@FrederickSkinner
@FrederickSkinner Год назад
 @Keroberus R. @@mehlol2 "I just presume the abyss sib woke up 500 years before we did." - From a previous Dain quest we know this to not be true. Sib woke us up 500 years ago. Then this "Summoning" happened. "- she became the princess after meeting him" -also incorrect: Chlothar clearly states she was the Princess BEFORE meeting him here. There is a history. I want to know what that was and why they called her Princess *quite some time **_before_** the cataclysm* In my mind in order to make that work this has to be the twins original world. The title requires heredity. You don't just "Honorary Princess" this because of deeds. This explanation if full of holes.

Abyss twin Lumine decided for Aether to EXPERIENCE the truth rather than just telling him out right. Giving Aether the chance to live and understand the context piece by piece. I think Dain is considered an "enemy" coz he doesn't want Lumine to side/get corrupted by the abyss. Since the abyss is hellbent on revenge. May it be wrong and hurt other innocents along the way. A key similarity between the Fatui Harbingers/tsaritsa and the abyss is that they both hate celestia. Can't wait for all the truth to unfold.
@shantanushrivastava9981
@shantanushrivastava9981 Год назад
With regards to monster-ification of Khaenrriahns, what I believe is that celestia punished everyone with the curse of immortality. However pure blooded Khaenrriahns didn't turn into monsters because of their lineage and non pure blooded became monsters. However sometime down the line, when Lumine(abyss sibling) started a war against the gods,these pure blooded Khaenrriahns lent their full support and embraced the power of the abyss, hence they turned into lectors and Heralds, who had high intelligence because of their blood and status, and never turned ugly like hilichurls. We see that in Caribert quest when Clothar deems a herald(or lector?I forgot lol) as the perfect being. I'm sure after founding the Abyss Order, he himself turned into a lector or herald and gave the command to Lumine. And when pure blooded Khaenrriahns didn't willingly turned into lectors and Heralds, they were forced by the Abyss Order to adopt the power of the abyss, and they became serpent knights. If you notice these knights and Heralds/lectors drop the same loot,but the knights are often found in dark places only, just like those hilichurls who think they're close to their sweet death. And although Knights can speak, they just ramble incoherently and are unable to hold a conversation or say something useful. Before abyss order was founded, hilichurls(and their evolutions like mitachurls) roamed in wilderness. But Heralds and lectors rallied everyone and started using them as pawns to do their dirty work without coming out of the shadows. Also I like to believe that Heralds and lectors have power to bestow some sort of intelligence and consciousness to the hilichurls who have served them loyally for a long time, turning them into abyss mages and samachurls. Hence the hierarchy would look something like this: hilichurls

Dainsleif is very contradictive from in game context to what he says in the Chapter Sortyline Preview: "We will defy this world with a power from beyond." also "Defeat me, command me to step aside, show me that you are worthier than I to rescue her." Shows that he isn't what he says he is. I got a going theory that Gold wanted to clone or recreate the travelers as they are the first human that were created by the primordial one. But in Golds attempt she messed up and transmuted the people (&/or a god) of Khaenri'ah into hillichurls or vise versa to make the clone. Ei says this: " I'm fearful because of what I witnessed five hundred years ago - her demise and that thing. But, if... If it were you, everyone would be safe. You would've saved the world. Just like I cherish the memories of everything in Inazuma, if you remember me, I'll live forever." AND THAT THING, So she is fearful of what she saw. It's unlike to be the Heavenly Principles because Nahida was going to awaken them. Also why would Ei be fearful of someone/thing that is suppose to be on her side.

A part of me sort of thinks that Lumine is also suffering from erosion. This is a crackhead theory, but say Lumine is not only regarded as Khaenri'ah's princess by Khaenri'ahns themselves, but also by the heavenly principles. If her story/existence is registered in Irminsul right around that time, and the gods base their attacks (with the curses of immortality and wilderness) on those who are Khaenri'ah (having moved there/being born there) according to Irminsul, then I feel like it is fair to assume that Lumine suffered the same fate as the pureblooded Khaenri'ahns since she was deemed their royalty. Of course, this can be easily disproven in many ways, especially by thinking that the heavenly principles should know who is and isn't part of Teyvat outside of Irminsul and it isn't a database that should be referenced, but then again -- why not? If it was a snap decision that they made and it was "easier" to simply pull up the information of all that should be affected by their decision from Irminsul, then really -- why not? All the people who left Mondstadt, Liyue, Snezhnaya, Natlan, Sumeru, Inazuma, and Fontaine to abandon their archons and their belief in them had this turn of events registered in Irminsul and the Khaenri'ahns, at that point, were still part of the ley lines (and able to return to them). So, in this crackhead theory, it makes sense for Lumine to remember things differently and to even have inconsistencies in the form of gaps in her memory of events that are in turn filled by the belief she later develops; after meeting Chlothar Alberich and his son Caribert. I would even go as far as to saying that her near-constant presence in the Abyss probably accelerated her erosion, but she isn't "feeling" it like Chlothar and Dainsleif are. Anyway, that's all I have and it's just a crackhead theory!

What bothers me is the fact that the twins were divinely summoned. So who summoned them and where were they summoned to?! Obviously they (one or the other) ended up in Khaenri’ah, because they lived with the Jester while he was a Royal Madge. Wouldn’t that have been before the 500 year marker when Khaenri’ah fell? Remember Scaramouche tells Lumine he does not know when the traveler came or left Khaenri’ah. Maybe they did leave with Dainsleif before they went to the Abyss (after the fall of Khaenri’ah?) As I understood it the cataclysm was 2000 years earlier during the Archon war. Why would the traveler leave with Dainsleif? If the twins were the prince/princess of Khaenri’ah something must have happened to start this journey with him. (Something more than just finding their brother/sister). As I remember it, Dainslief, The Jester and Clothar are all pure bred Khaenri’ahns. Though Dainslief was protecting (?) the traveler he was also given the title of Boughkeeper with access to Irminsul. Wouldn’t he be able to erase the time the traveler came or left Khaenri’ah? Around this time the Jester also becomes head of the Fatui. If the Jester is a Madge perhaps he was able to protect he and Dainslief from becoming hillichurls. It seems so very odd that whenever Dainsleif is with the traveler they fallout, go unconscious, or see visions. Then of course he interrogates them about what they see, and he takes off to report back to (The Jester?) Some sort of manipulation? I only mention this because the traveler also becomes the prince/princess of the Abyss? I do not see Dainslief as a good guy. I see him as sneaky and underhanded. I see the character of Clothar as a bitter, sadly misguided individual who couldn’t control what happened to his loved ones.
@charisleath

I wonder if Lumine blames Dainslief because its convenient. She blames him for watching their people turn to monsters. But what else could one man do? We know from lore already that the Khaenr'ian royal family didn't listen to warnings they were given by their advisors. Dainslief was just one guard. I find it unlikely that he could have convinced them to stop tampering with dangerous things or stopped whatever the exact cause of the curse was as just one royal guard. And the curse was inflicted by Celestia itself. Again, what could one man realistically do against something higher than even the Archons? So I wonder if Lumine felt powerless over what happened to their people and just blamed him because he was there and it was convenient to blame him.

It got me thinking about how Visions and Gnoses are the respective forms of what hold humans and the Archon’s Power. So maybe the restoration of our power will be the so called “Loom of Fate” and it’s more of a psychical object like visions and Gnoses. Perhaps it’s the Abyssal version of a Vision/Gnosis? Edit: After more thought perhaps our swords from the beginning of the game are our version of Visions/Gnoses? As Aster pointed out Lumine’s sword seems to be restored after her gaining her power back.

Both due to king Deshret's wisdom, and due to jinn being less dangerous than dead gods fuming with anger. While treasure hoarders are using alchemy to produce elemental potions, which they throw as weapons. The big question is, how are Hilichurls wielding the elements? Do they remember elemental technology of Kaenri'ah? Or maybe that of the Light Realm in the age of dragons?

For one, Dain speaks of them as if they're literally not a part of his clan/family, and secondly I doubt they'd make... what? 90% of the Khaenri'ahn characters we know of, Alberichs? And the thing about Dottore and the heart... I don't think the first eye would look much different from any others, and since Dottore is OBSESSED with Ruin Guards it's very likely he simply based it off of it.

After reading this, the first thing that came to my mind was Solo Levelling. To be specific, Sung Jin Woo using the the cup of reincarnation. Dain said to defeat him for the loom of fate, so maybe we can reweave fate by using it with the help of Istaroth of course. And this makes more sense because Dottore will burn the Irminsul, so maybe we go back in time of our arrival in Teyvat and reweave everything.

Unless Dain is a shapeshifter, we've seen Pierro and they look nothing alike beyond having Khaenri'ahn eyes and wearing a half mask. So they almost certainly aren't the same person. Plus Dain's express disdain for following a god/archon seems to make him unlikely to choose to be a harbinger and serve the Cryo Archon. Might be interesting if they were related but there's been no evidence from the few things we've been told about them that any sort of relationship is even hinted to exist besides, again, them both being from Khaenri'ah.

a key aspect of GI and even HI, is the internal unreliable narrator the monsterfication: may not be tied to celestia but maybe the abyss we know from first hand story arcs that the presence of the abyss drives people mad if the people were corrupted by the abyss, then when they die and return to the leylines they would bring that corruption with them, destroying the irmunsul and causing the surface teyvat (human realm) to collapse. So celestia's "curse" could be relative, and is simply about saving humanity by protecting the world they live in even at the cost of a nation. a curse that keeps people out of irminsul which means they have to wither away into nothingness over centuries if not millennia being denied any lasting death. perhaps by using a secondary/lesser 'irminsul' type structure

Which came first? The people or their Archons? If you believe the Archons were created from the collective Will of the people, then their manipulation by Celestia is slavery by proxy. If you believe the Archons came before the people then it is a simple matter of rebelling against one's prison guards in a quest for freedom. A parent/child relationship is somewhat similar. To be emancipated from the rule of the God's and thrive to greater and greater heights only to be crushed from fear of spreading your ideology well that could be a subject worth investigating. Regarding Dainsleif and Lumine the disparity could be that Lumine was an outsider with memories of traversing the star's while Dainsleif was a natural born human of this world. As such I see another conflict of world views stemming from such a difference of origin. Perhaps returning to the star's was one point of view while the other was making it a better world for those who wish to remain. No society ever had a single minded purpose, often it is a growth through polarity. As such this is also something to consider when theory crafting. Examples: Treasure Hoarders, Nobushi and Eremites are all humans yet they exist in polarity to the laws of civilization. Before labeling them as criminals saying they simply apply the Might makes Right rule of the wild one should ask then how is that any different then the behavior of the Archons? Typically it's a matter of personal investment. As in when you having nothing to lose its easy to justify taking from those who oppose your own survival. When you have everything to lose one tends to live in fear of the smallest amount of Erosion of Power. Beyond that is there any real difference?

The origins of gods are never made clear. At least some of them, like Venti, seem to be descended from the Primordial One - PO created four shades, and Venti is "one thread of a thousand winds", where "thousand winds" is usually assumed to be Istaroth, one of the shades. Venti deliberately avoids the question of whether a Vision-holder who ascends becomes a god.

I suspect that it is because the sibling wants to revive Khaenri'ah where as Dain doesn't. He may love and miss his homeland but I'm pretty sure that whole thing in the chasm was him getting some closure. Also the twin is being manipulated by the Abyss.

Am I the only one who think that after the Khaenri'ans got cursed, the pureblooded got their immortality and the rest got the wilderness curses (would explain why we have records of the transformations in the 1st ruin golem of the desert, most probably from the pureblooded in the machine) and that it was only 1 curse (and here is the question of what are the Khaen'rians ? Why is it that their blood can resist or protect them from getting turns into monsters and only get the immortality part. And where did they come from ?? Most probably the 1st unified civilisation, but wouldn't that mean that the current humans are a different race and not descenders of the survivors ??? -Or perhaps their blood got too diluted overtime???- Maybe the second who came creating a new race and wanting to eradicate the primordial one legacy??) I think also that Chlotar found a way to break the curse or else the abyss sibling wouldn't have been so adamant in their plans. They know they can succeed and can restore the nation. So they recruited Khaenri'ans to their cause, pureblooded and monsters. And imbued the power of the abyss as a mean for them to regain their "mind" because I think that abyss mages look too much like Hilichurls, the same ears and masks etc and we know that they can speak... so just like the abyss power gave Caribert a clarity of mind I think the same must have been for the others hilichurls... (and ofc the pureblooded became lectors and heralds ...) The only theory I can think of is that the abyss nullify the curse or subdue it (again what is the origin of the curse ? It has similarities with Eleazar, but the latter came from forbidden knowledge = maybe knowledge from the abyss or concerning the abyss or the truth of this world... Something corrupting the leylines... But again! We shouldn't forget that Dottore injected Collei with Archon residue and that it could have been the cause of her Eleazar stabilising... So maybe the curse has an abyss nature that needs the body to transform as a whole (by infusing power into it so they become abyssal creatures) to be able to contain it and live with it and maybe then regains their consciousness... and perhaps that's why they feel peace near it?? That's just a theory and I am not good at them so ehehe thank you if you read this long comment 😅

For me, at the end of the journey between Lumine (if she fascinates me as a villain) and Dain, Lumine ended up being registered believing that this is how she recovered her powers but without knowing that she could modify her memories that way, that's why she believes that Khaenria is her homeland when she never was, that's why she thinks she's the princess of a fallen kingdom. All this added to the trip and the beliefs said by Dainslief that they do not believe in the archons made the trip end like this, that is why Dain wants to save her. This would be contrary to what we live as the traveler, where we really know all that Dain never wanted to see or understand, we met the archons who are not those divine gods who can do everything, but more normal beings with their own personal and existential problems , where it requires a helping hand to get ahead, being totally contradictory to everything the order tells us about how they are. even the curse of the hilichurs is something that comes from the abyss that is something that has been suggested for a long time but many are still like Dainslief believing that it was celestia but they made a mistake trying to control the abyss and paid the price with that curse, Now he does not accept that he made that mistake and they go the easy way, blaming others for their own misfortune, for their own mistakes, given his shown arrogance, Dain still does not believe that his nation would have been capable of doing such acts. He still believes in them despite seeing evidence to the contrary.

I honestly think that the serpent in the gnostic hymn is the Sinner. When it comes to eyes its usually related to Khaenriah and the serpent has two different color eyes, and either its followers unchained it from the wall then carried the crystal somewhere else or it can teleport, plus if it can see the Traveler despite the fact that their viewing memories from the past that probably means time means nothing to it. So maybe it can also effect Irminsul, making it look like the abyss sibling is a part of Teyvat and tricking them into thinking that Khaenriah is their home. Perhaps it even altered a few memories of Dain so they would eventually turn against him then join the Abyss Order.

According to the game's official story, Lumine is the one who wakes up from the disaster in Khaenriah and goes with Dainsleft ? I don't know what they went through, but a man - and a woman go together, bathe and live side by side during the journey? Is this really normal? I wonder. Up until recent events, Zurvan Pari said that "a long time ago" she went on a mission with Lumine and Dainsleft to the oasis, and after that the two of them left. It seems that this was only after the Khaenriah disaster for a while, and the two of them stayed together for almost 500 years until Lumine became the leader of the Abyss??? I don't know when Lumine moved away from Dainsleft, but the game's early story chapters say that "recently the Abyss Order has a new leader". Damn it, considering that the MC is Aether, one element of his harem is being threatened by another male character. A man - and a woman traveling together, not sure how long, but in fact it is NOT SAFE right? F**kyou Damnsleif.

My take is that the curse of immortality was CREATED by the sinner while it was influencing king irmun and the conversion of the non pure khaenrians was just an act of cruelty or a way to power another effect. (or a side effect of the immortality "curse") I'm thinking the abyss twin is is currently influenced (corrupted in a way) by the sinner which severely affects her focus, what she believes to be true and not (basically deceived like the gnostic hymn says) Her memories are mostly intact but with parts replaced to make her see a different reality. It's also more that possible khaenriah was just the victim of the machinations of the sinner and the gods really didnt care either way about them till the sinners actions at cataclysm time. (ie when the curse was inacted)

I believe both Dainslief and the Jester manipulated and tried to control her mind, prior to fall of Khaenri’ah. Scaramouche says the Jester told him she lived with the Jester when he was a royal Madge. This would have been prior to the 500 years ago marker and the fall of Khaenri’ah. 30 days? 100 years? 600 years? They have been traveling like they are on an interstate. They occasionally get off on an exit, but find this is the wrong exit and have to turn around and get back on the interstate to move forward again. Catch 22 or dejavue. The twins are experiencing their journey over and over again, until they get it right. Dianslief and the Jester (both pure Khaenri’ahn, used spells and potions on Lumine to make her believe she was the abyss princess when she really was not. I believe what ever they did to control her did not work. Due to being a outlander, a descender her power is so great she comes back to herself and realizes what Daianslief (the Boughkeeper with access to Irminsul) has done to her. He also allowed the people of Khaenri’ah who were other backgrounds and races to become hillichurls. So there were many reasons she would not want to see Dainslief ever again. He is a traitor and liar. Despite his feelings for her, he still participated with the Jester to control Lumine for his selfish ends. As Clothar says, you have the Abyss and you have it all. So perhaps he and the Jester (who somewhere along the line was setting up the Fatui and giving his fealty to the Tsaritsa.), determined they could not acquire the Abyss, but Lumine with her powers could bring it home for them. The only problem was she didn’t and became a loose canon or unwilling asset. Everytime Dainslief pops up into Lumine’s life she passes out, goes unconscious or falls into a dream state. Then he interrogates her and runs off to…the Jester with his information.

to be frank with you, the more I think of this the more I realize how pissed I would be with lumine if I was in aether's shoes. they arrived in that world together but she decided to go for a walk basically and leave him in slumber (assuming she could wake him up which I don't see why she couldn't have) then she gets involved in this world's affairs forcing him, in turn, to do the same to get to her, I don't think it matters so much why she is doing what she is doing, she practically abandoned him and had a whole life while her brother was in a deep sleep for who knows how long only to wake him up and lead him to what became 500 years of a nightmare filled sleep, I would be genuinely pisssed in his place, her actions where very selfish, he just wants his sister back but honestly I wonder if she cares that much at all, aehter is very loyal to lumine but she seems to have no loyalty for him instead pledging loyalty to a country that is not even her own realistically speaking. This is all assuming she is in total control of herself of course. I also find dainsleif to be very manipulative tbh, he purposefully withholds information that I think the traveler is more than entitled to, all things considered, and is bound to involve aether in shit he probably wouldn't want to get involved in otherwise. Edit: When the war broke out and everything went to shite she woke her brother up so they could flee, so why didn't she do it sooner? Clearly, she could have. 🤷‍♂
