Today we find out what actually happened to every NFL #1 draft pick from 2000-2009. Some of these draft picks turned out great for the respective teams that took them and others would turn into some of the biggest busts in NFL history.
Bro I never knew it was that bad. If you look up his leg TODAY it looks like he was a bad burn victim. Different textured and colored skin. His leg literally broke in half the worst way you could imagine
No man, that's just incorrect. NFL, as any other sport, has positional value, positional skill ceilling/floor relation, positional quality depth chart and time of play QBs, EDGEs and Ts impact the game a lot and you can put some wins on then RBs, LBs e S impact less for example And the difference between a "minimally good" QB and an elite QB (let's say, Patrick Mahomes x Baker Mayfield) is WAY higher than the difference between even an average RB and an elite RB (let's say CMC x Jerome Ford) Finding a WR (someone tall and fast with good hands) is way easier than finding an elite LT (someone extremally big, strong, heavy and agile) because the second body type combined with the second type of athleticism is rarer than the first. All of this impact on the draft. If your team wastes a #2 pick on an RB for example, you're investing a major pick on a player that will fall off after his 27 yo, that will have a production similar than someone just competent and you lost the opportunity of getting something better
6:16 Houston took David Carr hoping he would be able to turn this team around???? Bruh how could he even do that if it was their very first year of existence in the first place???? Wtffff
Excellent video. Wish that it covered Carson Palmer wanting off the Bengals & Hue Jackson trading for him at the Raiders. He was an excellent QB. But understand time is limited. Great job describing all those players so well.
To be fair, Eli hasnt been off of the field completely. He's been the "coach" for the NFC in the Pro Bowl the last couple years. That shows that even retired, football will always be engrained within him. Football is almost a drug to him. Addicting for life, and to be fair, in this instance, that's not a bad thing whatsoever.
“Vick breaks his leg in preseason game” Why tf is any self respecting franchise playing their starting QB in preseason games??? Absolute madness! But excellent video!
Alex Smith had 7 different Offensive Coordinators his first 7 NFL Seasons. Guy was dealt a horrible hand until Harbaugh, and then got screwed over by that coach as well. The 49ers should have never let Colin Kaepernick take over the Starting QB job once Smith was healthy. That set the 49ers franchise back 10 years by itself.
This was an awesome video but I have one critique: you said David Carr had gone to the Texans to turn them around yet he went there in literally their first season of existence lol
Eli should def be in the Hall of Fame. Ppl forget he’s top ten in passing yards, tds, and completions. He threw dimes when he needed to. And he got the job done twice against the GOAT
Regular season matters too. His stats are boosted due to never getting hurt. Hes footballs jamie moyer. Hes got great cumulative stats but thats because he played forever. He was never a top 5 qb at any point his career
People forget that Houston picked Tony Bosieli(prob got last name wrong) to anchor the LT spot in the expansion draft. He literally retired without playing a game due to medical issues. It probably wouldn't have made a huge difference but definitely wouldn't have hurt.
I really think you should have added information about how Michael Vick has worked to better himself and learn from his mistakes since he exited prison. He has been involved in a lot of activism and animals rights programs while owning up to and apologizing for what he did.
@@FantasyPhenoms I was born in 04, so that's why I wasn't sure. Is that why the Seahawks changed from the AFC West to the NFC West, did that happen at the same time or a little later?
@@ParadiseCity1329 Same time. I will give you a quick recap of realignment in the NFL since 1970 1970 the AFL and NFL Merged and gave us these conferences and division. NFC West - 49ers, Falcons, Rams, Saints NFC East - Cowboys, Cardinals, Redskins, Giants, Eagles NFC Central - Packers, Vikings, Lions, Bears AFC East - Colts, Dolphins, Bills, Jets, Patriots AFC Central - Oilers (now Titans), Steelers, Browns, Bengals AFC West - Raiders, Broncos, Chargers, Chiefs In 1976 the Bucs and Seahawks joined the NFL, in 1976 the Bucs were in the AFC West and the Seahawks in the NFC West. In 1977 the Bucs were moved to the NFC Central and the Seahawks to the AFC West In 1995 the Panthers and Jaguars joined the NFL, the Jags in the AFC Central and the Panthers in the NFC West In 1996 the Cleveland Browns moved to Baltimore and became the Ravens and stayed in the AFC Central In 1999 The Cleveland Browns were reborn into the NFL and joined the AFC Central In 2002 The Houston Texans joined and the NFL realigned into the Divisions we have today.
The cardinals traded Carson palmer for Dre kirkpatrick and Giovanni bernard and still finished better than the raiders the following two years after the trade
Remember when the Raiders Head Coach Hue Jackson called the Carson Palmer trade, “The Greatest Trade in NFL History”? How Hue Jackson got another HeadCoaching gig, and other employment in the NFL, is one of the most confusing things ever.
Nah , Eli is a bum , kidding , he sucked during the seasons, but wouldn't impress until only in the PO s &usually his ESPN highlights consisted of him throwing interceptions at the worst moment during the game , his winning PCT was the opposite of his brother
David Carr absolutely woulda been a damn good QB had he been drafted into a better situation! Peyton Manning & Tom Brady woulda ended up same way as Carr in same situation
Michael Vick is still my favorite quarterback of all time was the by far the most fun qb to watch play especially in Philly Still have a Vicks college jersey framed on my wall
Yeah unfortunately eli won a few super bowls but in all rivers was the better qb besides the super bowl wins with great defense rivers just played for my chargers that decided to fire Marty schottenheimer after a 14and 2 season thanks aj Smith
Phillip Rivers wasn’t used correctly under Marty Schottenheimer. The Chargers had LT, and LT and their Defense got them that 14-2 record. Then in the Playoffs, they imploded due to MartyBall. Since that season, Marty has never coached in the NFL.
Absolutely not a chance should Eli be in the hall of Fame. Just winning 2 SB doesn't mean automatic HoF. I personally can't stand him for how he acted during the draft the disrespect he showed the chargers is unforgivable. No draft player should ever have the right to choose to not play for a team. You either play for them or you don't play at all just do your rookie contract then go Giants after. He is NOT HoF material
@@FantasyPhenoms he was a created player with his stats all at 99 in college and his offense w taylor made for him. They barely lost the national championship to Florida State by one last minute score. He was a demigod amongst mortals.
Jalen carter was involved in the deaths of 2 human beings, someone's actual children and had no issues other than dropping from potential #1 pick, Vick is involved in dog fighting and he's sent to jail for multiple years and is seen as the devil...let me jump ahead and say I know the intent was different but it's the outcome I care more about, I'm one of those weirdos that value human lives more than other animals
Eli is a very average QB with some good seasons sprinkled in. Big Ben and Philip Rivers have been better through their careers. He will still get in because of his super bowls but if he gets in then Rivers should too. Big Ben is a lock
Big Ben yes. The HOF counts both the regular season and the postseason and also the story of the NFL. But Philip Rivers and Eli regular season numbers were about the same when they were both playing. So it comes down to the postseason, where Eli was far better. Lastly I think you can tell the story of the NFL without Rivers but not without Eli.
@@justanother1797 fair point. I slightly disagree with your take about telling the story of the NFL without Rivers. Their stories will always be intertwined because of what happened draft night but I understand that his postseason success will hinder his chances to the HOF. Outside of some clutch moments against the NE defense I just think Eli was largely average. Peyton was clearly the better of the of two and it isn’t even close imo.
@@FantasyPhenoms no problem lol just figured I would point it out. I was confused when I heard it I had to double check when they came to the league. Great video either way. Earned a sub.
IMO Eli Manning should not be in the Hall of Fame, only reason people think he should be is because they think wins are a QB stat. He was just a average QB for most of his career
He beat Brady twice in the Super Bowl. Yes their defense balled out but he led two game winning drives. He probably still isn’t a HOF QB but I’d take him over Rivers in a heartbeat.
Eli deserves to be in the hall of fame, the patriots were supposed to go 19-0. When they met the giants in the Super Bowl the giants were 9-7 and barely snuck in to the playoffs the patriots were 16-0 and lost to the giants. I believe Eli deserves the hall of fame. He beat the GOAT twice.
You guys act like he killed someone.. Tyreek hill literally beats his kids and his wife but no one says shit bout that… yall ready to hate Vick over some shit his homeboys organized…
Just like how they mistreat and kill dogs in the Iditarod! Are u disgusted by that as well? Or how we as a society gleefully kill a myriad of animals to satisfy our collective lust for food and attire! Gimme a break! I adore Mike vick!
@@FantasyPhenoms it came out a long time ago. He got sued for it. He ordered his anti-herpes medication under a different name. I wish I could remember the name because it was funny 😁 af.
3:56 it’s too bad Michael Vick would rather steal dogs from random homes to help train his dogs to kill (that’s a fact) then become the best QB of all time. If you lived around MV and your dog went missing most likely he stole it and used that innocent creature as a training tool for his killers
