Heenan’s ability on the mic was incredible, as was his ability to completely inhabit his character. That photo was devastating and I refuse to remember him like that, as we all should.

I see Virgil once a year at flea markets selling memorabilia and autographed pics. One time I was wearing a walking boot recovering from a broken foot and as I passed his booth he stopped me and we had a chat about a time he had to have ankle surgery and Vince wouldn’t pay for it and it cost over $100;000 dollars. I didn’t buy anything from him that day or any other day we crossed paths but it was nice of Virgil to share a story from his past for free lol.

Says nobody heard of Chris Adams, he was a star in WCCW in the 80’s. He was the first man to use the super kick as a finish, and named it that.

You know a lot of the WCCW stars from Texas went on to become a bigger names in WCW and WWE? Chris Adams, Scott Hall, The Harlem Heat, Stunning Steve "blondie" Austin, The Dingo Warrior aka Ultimate Warrior, Ric Flair, Ted Debiasi (when the Crockett regional gang team up to fight Vince), MickFoley, Terry Taylor, The Undertaker and others. Meng's uncles wrestled for WCW.

I'm from Georgia and I love both wrestling and college football and I didn't realize Tony Schivone was the commentator until I got the network and heard him react and connected the dots. Tbf I hadn't watched WCW in close to 15 years when I rewatched it but yeah I was really stoked to figure that one out.

You forgot to mention Virgil's appearances on AEW as "Soul Train Jones" for Chris Jericho's brilliant vignettes. Edit: Unless the Olive Garden thing was a reference to his promo in AEW. In that case, well played. Well played indeed. Additional edit: Or maybe that Game Vault thing, which was a reference to the AEW promo. That would be Inception-level referencing.
