Technically it's the CN people that participate the boycott of Kiryu. They goes so far to even make tge goverment involve with the situation through report which also the reason why Cover Corp had to jump the ship from CN market. The talents can play those games but not as hololive persona.
Because China thinks the world doesn't know about their bullshit. They think we don't know about their slave camps, etc. So whenever "something" makes China look bad their media automatically tries to defuse/stop it. They brainwashed their people and controlled them that's why they implemented the Social Credit system. It's the similar to the Credit Score but Social Credit is much more brutal, basically in credit score you can raise it back up by paying properly in social credit once you're low you're homeless for life coz noone will hire you lmao!

For Dorys from what I heard she basically tried to gaslight her genmates. Yogiri was very unfortunate, she doesnt had any mistake, and do her things online like usual, and get bad luck... twice. i was really love her singing back then. man..
The fact that she is Taiwanese, make me believe she suffered the most out of them even before the drama, sad she just couldn't succeed, life has really dealt her so many bad hands.

First, by keeping CN running but firing the offending members, AKA keeping Yogiri and Spade Echo, would be seen as singling out those who collaborated with the antis to sabotage the company they worked for. This would have to make public the evidence of the misdeeds they committed, but those misdeeds were seen as the right things to do: this would backfire badly. Furthermore, the avatars of all the CN members became tainted by the affair that Cover Corp had to abandon them, and gave them to their respective talents. Imagine if Yogiri and Spade Echo joined JP or EN, that would stir up the hornets nest again.
@@Seele2015au All the members except two were asked if they wanted to move to another Hololive Branch, even if they had to pay for them to move (irl), according to Civia after the fact. I was surprised none took up the offer, they just seemed to think it was a bad idea due to the harassment still have been ongoing.
Back when I still play Azur Lane (one of the CN dev games), after the Hololive collab I was expecting something more especially with the likes of new Holo members such as the Holomyth and Gen 5. Then the Taiwan incident happened lol.
Sucks that Azur Lane and Hololive never got to collab again after this, cuz that collab was my introduction to Hololive and it was easily one of the highlights of my two years of playing Azur Lane. Like there was a lot of talk of the two doing a second collab and it will never come to be cuz of this whole mess
I remember that one big hololive clipper channel that was actually supporting those Chinese hater. They proudly made a statement about stopping all the clip activity bcs hololive didn't terminate coco's contract. They also said, hololive won't be this big without them (clipper from china/bilibili). That whole Taiwan drama was wild.

The one out of the few I looked into I liked was Artia Because I liked her model and she was playing OW (which at the time I absolutely in love with). Then literally the next day all of CH graduated. I knew she was often cited as being a bad one but I didn’t know how bad. Thanks for getting all of this info for me

I came into Vtubers in Summer of 2021 and super into it with the release of HoloCouncil. So when I learned all about this I was blown away by the whole of it. I also like Rosalyn's design but was sorely disappointed that she was a terrible person.
Spade echo, yogiri and ciiva were the ones I did had hope their gonna do well. It just sucks hearing yogiri got screw over twice. But very glad Altria got what she F-ing deserved.
I already knew the story of the legendary Kiryu Coco and its tragic destiny but knew very little about the Chinese branch of Hololive. Thanks to this video, I was able to learn a little more about them. Thank you for this research work, so it was really interesting. It is sad to see that innocent people like Yogiri and Spade Echo have had to pay the price because of others. But glad to see that Spade Echo is doing well. I hope Yogiri will be able to bounce back too. Reading the comments, she is a very talented person who deserves to succeed.
I have been watching the development of VTB in bilibili and I can only say that the situation is not very good. bilibili as a video platform is very irresponsible, hololive cn members even if free from the impact of the incident, will be restricted by the platform development.
If you weren't there I recommend to investigate more, there's a lot of noise and hate rather than actual proof and Coco's story is more vast than just this

I'm really glad that spade Echo was able to get back on her feet and find her own success. Out of the CN members, she was the one I watched alot when I got the time. NGL, I feel bad about Yogiri, getting screwed not once but twice in the vtuber world. I wish her luck in the future.
I discovered Vtubers when i found Fubuki at the end of 2018 and then Miko. I only watched Hololive JP for a long while until EN came along but I dislike drama so I never watched the CN branch when all this was happening. I knew what was going on so I did my best to support Coco And Haachama. Interesting to get a little info on what happened to the members I knew nothing about.
Civia even became the first CN member to make a YT channel. From what I saw of her, I thought she was nice. I also checked out Artia's Twitch channel and thought she was cool. I even saw their last stream discussing why they were leaving, their thoughts and that they were told they were allowed to keep their models. But then Artia started posting those tweets and I lost interest immediately. Yeah, good riddance.
Bullies *ALWAYS* position themselves in a way to mitigate backlash when going after their target. As a moderator, she had the ability to censor & ban anyone trying to blow the whistle on her antics. Course her mod and her accomplices powers were limited and inevitably backfire.

How was it a loss? They were in the China market and even then they had a pitiful amount of subs and live viewers. HL was nothing until the EN branch came and opened them up to the rest of the world. The CN branch was a malignant cancer that should have been cut sooner.
only thing in the video i want to comment on is how you on the start mentioned coco's graduation right after the taiwan incident as if it happened right after. coco graduated many months after the stuff in 2020 and she herself said that the main reason for her graduating was that she felt like she could not do everything she wanted to do in hololive. i am not saying the harrassment from the chinese was not a factor but it does not seem to be the main factor, even the chinese was surprised that she suddenly wanted to graduate.

Indeed, people forget that the gap between when the Taiwan incident occurred and when she graduated was almost 9 months. She wasn't harassed into graduation, unlike say Aloe.
While that's true, the harassment was a consistent thing for pretty well the entirety of that nine months. As far as the Pika situation, all you had to do was watch the streams of her friends. Didn't say it directly, didn't have to. She may have been thinking about retiring soon anyway but the harassment sure as hell sped up the timeline.
She did say she felt limited in what she wanted to do in hololive, but that could also contributed in cover having to restrict what hololive and coco what to say not say after the incident. Yagoo cried saying how he coundn't protect her. Also In coco new persona she had mention that she doesn't collab with former hololive because,she dosen't want them to get attack by chinese fans of hololive in what she said as coco. Wanting to graduate becuase of hololive was so restrict wasn't the only reason, Leaving becuase taiwan incident was certain with informaction that was given to the public was major tiping point for her leaving.

After HoloCN disbanded, I was pure cope. I hadn't watched much of them prior, but I enjoyed a lot of Artia's clips and was in her fan discord. Then Civia's graduation was one of the saddest I've seen. I didn't keep up with Civia's next live (or any of the other former HoloCN talents) because navigating bilibili is awful, but I watched Hecatia occasionally when she streamed in english on twitch. She never really talked about the past much on them, so it'd seemed like she'd just moved on. I didn't realize why she stopped streaming as Hecatia either. On one hand that's kinda sad, but also like karma. I really like Hecatia's model, though. Huge KAFU energy with the hair and ornaments, and her dress was really cute and paid homage to her past life which was cool

Azure lane and other gacha games not giving access, but imho HL is all the better for it. Look at how big HL is next to NijiiSanji. Niji now still is absolutely dependant on CN money. They would literally collapse without it. As such, they are restricted in who they can collab with (kson being the most prominent example) and have to pander to CN HL in their pivot to the west ha e done amazingly from it. But a good deal of their revenue is still from domestic advertising. They aren't beholden to western viewers for their money. And while many of their talents are making efforts to learn English, it is more a thing of these people from around the world are giving me their time to appreciate my content, so I should reply in kind by trying to understand and communicate with them as well.

I remember when they debutted I was so excited for a CN branch then everything imploded and everybody's chat started to get flooded by Anti's and bots. by the end of it, I was just glad they axed the branch after everything got settled and everybody figured out what was going on.

I seem to remember hololive posted two statements about the Taiwan thing. One disparaging the harrassment, and one supporting the one china policy. I never could figure out how much of any of this is true. I've seen it being facts and it being rumors. Meaning its probably somewhere in the middle. It was a crazy time
That one's actually true. It was the shxttiest thing that Cover tried to pull at the time. The "disparaging the harassment" was the English statement, and the "supporting One China Policy" was the Chinese statement. Do note however that Cover owned up to it, as they apologized and Yagoo took a pay cut.
Cover backpeddled real quick because the western audience went ballistic over it. The subreddit was flooded with stuff like yagoo bowing down to whinny the pooh, and outrage was unstoppable. Cover quickly learned at that moment that they had to make a choice, either you stick with the chinese and lose your entire western market (This was before HoloEN had debued btw), or completely leave china behind and stick with the Western audience as well as global possibilities for expansion (EN branch). They learned the hard way that you cannot have both, because china will not play ball like that, and the western audience is done with corporations bowing down to the chinese like a bunch of dogs. They faced a difficult decision, as they had made significant investments into a chinese market, and were still very new to the larger international market, however they made the right decision to cut out the tumor that is the CCP before it was too late and instead focus on the broader global horizon.

One thing that I tell most people to be aware, is that streamers/content creators show their best personas online, if they can't even do that properly (Artia for example) then in real life it just means they are even worse, so when Artia was backstabbing like that I wasn't even surprised, she was already saying some fked up stuff even before, Cynthia on the other hand was a huge disapointement

The COVER company still has their big Chinese investors, and the company recently went public. Worst case scenario could result in Chinese coming into the company and doing something with the money.

Not sure if i am anyone to be saying this because i am here watching the video but "I don't encourage it but i think its someting good" is such a shit thing to say, its like saying "Would be happy if someone did it but if it happens i have nothing to do with it" yes, it is a way of encouraging that kind of thing even if it was not the intention.
