Such a shame he had it all with a big future could have been one of the games greats. Another player destroyed by alcohol and wrong decisions, well done mate 👍
During his time Jimmy was definitely one of the best centers in the game. I remember watching the 2018 SoO series and him and LM just dominating in the Centers against GI, Chambers and Gagai.
I genuinely believe he didn’t have much idea what was going on on the field, didn’t have a plan ahead of catching and running which also made him illusive and unpredictable.
a great player - troubled off field , sad how one affects the other and ruins a career . . . and the clubs don't do enough to educate young players to help avoid the pitfalls and more will go the same way . . .
At least he made it to the NRL and he was exceptionally good when he wanted to be and he knew how to find the tryline and unfortunately i have noticed in newspapers lately he's been in abit of trouble well he's most probably in some ways affected by his childhood the apple NEVER falls far from the tree 🌲 unfortunately and I hope that Mr James Roberts ends up getting his Life in some type of ordering balance 💯 percent 👍
He is best friends with my mate he always told us he never wanted to play the game he never liked playing he wanted to be a normal guy with a normal life he’s a really nice guy
A true enigma of rugby league. Felt like one of those players who only needed half-chance to explode the game. I still think about his solo try against the Roosters in 2018.
The same issue with people blessed with all the talent and skill in the world but just fucking dumb and abuse it. Jon jones another great example of unbelievable talent tainted by stupid consistent mistakes
I vividly remember watching a game and seeing James Roberts tackle someone and proceed to intentionally dig into his coit with all 4 fingers hard as he could and I’m shocked it was never brought up or seen my many people. That’s how I remember him.
What just like some of his family members who really weren't there for him when he was younger I believe that's apart of why he's having problems NOW he does need some type of professional help but not behind bars it's too easy to just chuck them away like that and just forget about them you've got to have a heart
@@StevenGuegens I grew up with only a mother after being abused, beaten and raped by my pedo father, then abused by my uncle til I left home, I had to also fend for myself, I grew up, pulled up my pants, got an education and didnt blame the world for it, I am now a father, lawyer, and happy and never ever been in trouble with the law, remember, what you focus on expands....
Everyone is subjected to the rules & laws, you cant get your shit together, you no longer can stay. Unfair to players who do their best to live within the rules.
When a player goes from club to club you know that he won’t last in the game, as good as he could have been the demon drink got him like it does all people but he was good at Souths
This sport goes out of its way to apologise for and try to protect players who have had many indiscretions. Even if they include assault or violence against women.
Another highly talented player moved from club to club, instead of having experienced welfare managers that could understand his issues and get him the help he needed.
A missus that did everything she could to help him but unfortunately he doesn’t want help? Don’t blame the missus when you know nothing of their personal lives!!
