Keily's story haunts me. In my opinion she was betrayed by people who claimed to be her friends. I feel sorry for Ryan because he gavr a lot of himself when trying to find Keily. He used a poor choice of words to get people to talk, but in the end his generosity and drive led to her being found. He needs to be forgiven, not sued. He has become the poster boy for lawsuits. Keily needs to be remembered. I don't think justice prevailed. I feel like there is much to be revealed..IMO. Thank you Harsh for remembering her. 😢
Yea, she needs to be remembered by us because her mother and friends are happy she is dead because it is how she is spreading her love around or some BS and I am sure they have moved way on by now.
Thank you for covering this. There are major coverups in this case! How did they not find her vehicle right by the shore? How did she have no water in her lungs if she drowned? How did the police allow a teen to be in charge of the investigations? So many things don’t add up!!
This is the case that brought me into the True Crime niche. Then shortly after she went missing, my grandson began working at the campground across from where the party was supposed to be. This case is Very SUS! And sadly, I fear Kiely will never get the Justice she deserves. But I still haven't given up, I still hope & pray that day will come on a daily basis. And my grandson, now permanent at his job keeps his eyes & ears open for Anyone to give even a Whisper of her name in hopes it will lead somewhere. RIP KIELY YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN...💯❤️🙏👀

Omg this case makes me so damn angry. I cant even believe how things have been allowed to go. Not one person held responsible for what happened to a bright future ahead of 16 yr old girl. She shouldnt have been there in the 1st place she shouldnt have been allowed to drink and party wo anyone watching out for her. If she were my daughter theres no way in hell I would have just been like oh they were kids alls just fine I love the friend that left her there alone etc. Just unreal. Noone even knows if it were even kiely that sent that last msg to mom. The whole story the science etc just do not make any sense. I'd be making heads roll if she were my child. Kielys case is one like no other. This case devastated a lot of people, including myself. I would be so grateful for my child being found. I believe Ryan made up for what he said. He does have a heart of gold for young people. Many people believe this case is solved. IMO, this case should only begin. Too many unanswered questions with friends, autopsy, and LE.

As a native Californian who lives nearby, this case stinks bad! The kids were protected because they have affluent parents. They know what really happened.
Ryan is very raw and says it as he sees it. Given the lack of any evidence of the party, I understood why he said what he did and thought the whole thing made up and question if they made up Kiely too. He did really get stuck in to some folk on RU-vid but I doubt Kiely’s family are suing him over that, I found Kiely’s mother, the teenagers and the local community’s behavior odd to say the least. There are still a lot of unanswered questions around Kiely’s death for me. She deserved better and Ryan doesn’t deserve this.
What role did her mother play and who nixed releasing the CHP report? Some of us thought S was the ring leader, jealous of K's talent, but when I think back to that meeting, where K's mum puts her arm around S and whispers something in her ear, I wonder...
This is NOT acceptable, in so many ways. Sammy was not her best friend, and so on and so on. Huge party...I don't believe it! All I can say is thank God for AWP, Doug, Nick and Josh, for finding her. It made me feel quite sad watching this. It was the case that brought me into the True Crime community and I still feel frustrated that nobody was held accountable. I'll never forget seeing her car being pulled out of the water and the tears it brought. Looking back it's even MORE infuriating that LE did not look hard enough and actually it's disgusting how AWP were treated. They brought up a lot more than Kiely and her car when they found her and that was the problem imo. Unsettled the waters. It was really very obvious that she'd be in the water near where her last ping was!! - and the rescue crews were told to just look for her phone and not to go further than so many metres. How can that not be sus? Bless her soul, she seemed such a sweetheart.

Kiely's case is very suspicious from the so called "friends" who claims she was falling down drunk,yet the autopsy revealed no alcohol in her system and no water in her lungs,the ex-boyfriend and young lady's behavior when they were getting help for car trouble(both alternating going to the back of the car when being questioned, which is where Kiely's body was found), the medical examiner who wore several hats in that town quickly ruling the death an accident, the ex-boyfriend going on social media and asking for all leads to come to him first instead of the sheriff, which the sheriff didn't tell him to do, the inconsistent accounts by students at the party that didn't add up,the fact that her laptop and cell phone wasn't far from where her car was found and LE acted like they didn't want to accept them let alone search them for clues,the way her family didn't seem interested in what really happened to her or who was responsible,the fact that her car/body was found ,not by LE but by AWP in an area that supposedly had been searched,etc. This case is very wierd,to say the least. Someone is being covered for and thats really sad since a young girl lost her life. But money and influence can cause justice to not be served. How sad..
The fact that no alcohol was found in her system and no water in the lungs make me believe that she was dead already and they placed the car with her body inside so that the water would take care of the evidence. Who ever killed her must have had huge influence and money to make this go the way that it did.
Did they ever prove that the guy who went to check the car out ( and it was supposedly Kiely’s car) and realized it was not in the right gear was why the car wouldn’t start, and his company fired him from his job. The company supposedly turned the video into the police and it mysteriously disappeared. This incident happened a day after the party when Kiely supposedly drove her vehicle into the reservoir. He was adamant on the date that this happened. Did his company and LE just act like this never happened?

Another case, like Sean's, where I don't accept the the conclusion. I can't shake the feeling of a cover-up. As you say, it split the room. It makes me wonder though, if some of those, that quickly switched from non-believers to accepting the conclusion were just needing that closure. Idk... It just doesn't make sense, if you go back to the beginning and consider how LE let Sammy control so much. A young girl, non family member, no law enforcement experience, etc?? Her mom's wishy-washy behavior. The changing stories. The lack of photos or videos from a supposed HUGE party full of people with cell phones? Her car being found in 20 minutes after LE searched for days?? COME ON!! How can people just up and decide, ok, case closed! I can't...
This was a fishy case. The window was down... It's like someone drove the car into the water and swam out. She was found in the boot... Which also seems fishy. The place where AWP found her the police had searched and didn't want AWP to search that area.... Fishy.....

It has all been fishy from the beginning.....she was a guinea pig and I believe was set-up by those claiming to be "BFF's" and yes I believe her family knows exactly what happened and covered it up too!! Sad sick world we live in. Rest in Peace Kiely - you will never be forgotten!

Ryan was real and truly called out the BS. Remember your calls and messages exchanged with Truckee and Placer county? None of it made sense. He said what we were all thinking. His effort to get answers is admirable.

The family is desperate for $. 3 years of empty lodge occupancy and this past winter having 20' high snow levels have left them destitute. But why sue Ryan over this?

The mother had much to lose and was stuck with a good for nothing husband and young boy child. Granddad apparantly wanted the property to go to Keily. So go figure. I've never thought this case was conducted or concluded right. Swammy Sammy got to control the investigation, and then made SM posts making fun of Keily. LE couldn't find her, even though they supposedly dove right on top of her car. No evidence that a party actually took place that night. Then the tow truck guy "happens to see AWP roll into town" and gives them misinformation. Thank God for Doug, Nick, and Josh. Esp Doug, who said the lake isnt cleared until he said it was cleared, and went looking where he was told not to look. Then we were all told there was honor in silence. Something's fishy and stinks in Truckee, as much, if not worse than it does in Idaho. I hope Ryan Upchurch can help get to the truth.
I hope Kiely is resting in peace. I don’t believe she will ever get Justice at this point. It’s a shame how badly the whole case was handled and no one was held responsible.

This is such a tragedy and I will never believe it was an accident, there was so much more to it. I think a lot of people in that town managed to dodge a bullet, they never wanted her to be found at all in my opinion.
This case doesn’t make sense. I know most of true crime is against Ryan Upchurch but I think he made a lot of good points. Also he gave AWP like $200,000 when they found her. Now no one will ever get the truth especially if everyone who asks questions gets sued. Kinda scary if you can’t question anything.
The ONLY thing that Ryan said that p*ssed me off is when he said about Kiely not existing. My issue with that was that I felt that Ryan was potentially the only person who could get her justice but that wouldn’t happen if he didn’t even trust she was real

From my understanding the case of Kylie Rodney is still open it had never been closed and I don't believe that she drove herself into that reservoir!! I I have a feeling that this family is going to regret coming after Ryan with some bogus as defamation case. what I think that the problem is is that Ryan didn't give money to the family he gave the money to the people who found Kylie as promised. I would love to know where the defamation is that Ryan supposedly has done.... If anything his voice, influence, and his interest in this case is why Kylie was found! Is that what the family is mad about? because I know that the reservoir that she was found in had been "searched and was cleared" I remember they were told not to search there because it had already been searched. But as Doug said "if it hasn't been searched by us it hasn't been searched" ( awesome to see men go to their Accord and rules world a conscious and don't go off the next man cause we all can make a mistake) So what's the real reason that people are upset? It was so strange to see Sammy take charge and " interview " the kids, with no parents or police around. And the police allowed this? Not really clear who collected this info...and the tow truck driver was a huge curve ball, never resolved either!
It was about as conclusive as the Idaho 4. Once again there is a girl connected to LE, right in the middle of a mystery case. In my opinion Sammy was involved up to her eyeballs. I saw a video that came out late in the aftermath, that showed her car go into the water. It looked to me like the car stopped at the waters edge, someone got out, and then the car proceeded forward into the water. Maybe that was just me, but after watching it numerous times it seemed the same thing happened everytime. Yep, the car definitely stopped for a moment before it went in the reservoir. If the footage is real then it also shows that other cars were right near her and would definitely have noticed a car going in the water.

Ronnie said he was home wife. Then Xannamayx gets hella defensive and then he's camping with her and Hazmat. He got a better look than from. Across the reservoir. And shady Tony Dodge.
Someone who was connected to AWP contacted Ryan and told him that he didn't feel safe. That this case was connected to people in high places. Ryan thought he was paranoid at first until he heard what he had to say. This was around a year and a half ago. I wonder if that person is OK today?
I've followed this case from the beginning, living just one state away. The thought just occurred to me, her car was roughly 50-55 feet from the shore in 10-14 feet of water. How fast would her car have had to be traveling to go that distance? I'm shocked that the family is so vindictive against the team that found her that they actively searched for dirt to smear and ruin their lives & business. Makes no sense!
Something very similar happened where I live a young man disappeared after a party hosted by a man of age and when he was found even though it made no sense it was ruled a subside or accidental death and no charges came for the person who provided the alcohol. I believe it was because the host of the party had a wealthy family and they paid someone off.

I love upchurch. If my daughter went missing and someone put 200 grand up for a reward to find her he could say whatever he wanted online. I wouldnt give a shit. It was a completely weird case. That was his opinion. Kielys family need to give their heads a wobble. Id be more pissed off that her friends reckoned she was off her face and left her there as a minor. This needs further investigation and the investigation should not be done by the same authorities that were involved in her case. I believe that’s the only way to get justice for Kiely.

Obviously saying that, I've seen tons of varying info on this case. I am firmly of the belief that this was NOT AN ACCIDENT. Too many missteps, LE incompetence (not handled as a crime scene from the start)... on and on and on. Horrible and tragic. We now await the CHP report, as you probably know. Fortunately when it comes out, we ought to be able to get it in hand and I love and entrust CICITV to help walk us through it. However, we don't know what it's gonna reveal and we of the "not an accident" side, sadly have strong reason to believe the report will wash it's hands and close the case as an accident.
