Its so interesting looking at what his career would have been if things worked out differently. If atlantic wasnt dumb as shit. There are also some tracks that were given to other artists instead that became hits. Airplanes was originally intented for him, look how big that got n it was given to b.o.b. The greatest rapper of all time, T&Y and Drogas wave was highly overlooked and they where his greatest albums without a doubt. First 2 albums were legendary but the way he has grown and improved especially in his bars shows in his new projects. Very unfortunate for Lupe to release his first 2 albums at a time where he was getting overlooked because of the gangster image that was present from other rappers and now since we are in the age of mumble rap, most likely a conscience rapper with overwhelming bars will get overlooked. I don't think lupe will ever get the recognition he deserves.

I remember when he first came out when I was younger. I thought that kick push song was so fuckin corny. I was working one day and this girl I worked with was telling me how she's a Lupe fan and she saw him at Kanye glow in the dark tour. At the time I said "youre a Lupe fan? He's MAD corny and who names their album food and liquor? He just seemed so corny to me. Anyway, she convinced me to listen to his album Food and Liquor. He single handedly rearranged my top 5 rapper list off the first listen

Soooo lol But in all seriousness I love about 80% of the songs on it and strongly like about 12% of the other songs. They may be one or two song that I'm just luke warm about. That type of % only exists with maybe less than a dozen albums in the history of hip hop for me. When you factor in that Lupe is not rapping about bullshit to me I think he may get the tie breaker over albums like "It was written" "The black album" "Ready to die" "400 degrees" etc.

I have respect for Lupe & his talent. He was someone I just kind of stumbled across & would actually listen to his albums from start to end several times. Its annoying seeing the ones spitting consciously such as him being constantly overlooked or put on the back burner. Thanks for making a video on him because I was late to the Lupe party & never knew what happened to him in terms of his music career. I wonder how things would have went for him if he took Jay Z up on his offer. The fact his fans cared enough to go out & protest the record company is pretty dope though.
