Shout out to lisa for going the extra mile to the location and showing us what could have happen. You can tell they actually care about this case, well done inside edition.
@chowfun1976
It’s highly irresponsible of the kayak company owners to give them the choice to take a life jacket. It should be obligatory.
@KITS2JZ
Nah the last person who was with her knows exactly what happened. Very suspicious she didn't come straight forward as soon as possible if she was innocent. Not wait 2 weeks
@hayleymariemills
The lady who was with her (a lawyer from CA) waited over 4 weeks to come forward & say she drowned after the Guatemalaian government put out a plea looking for her for a statement. Her excuse? She was traumatized by the Internet & the threats she got over those 4 weeks! While I don't condone threats, none of it would've EVER CAME HER WAY had she just came forward & told the family & law enforcement what she saw that day! People were angry BECAUSE she hid for 4 weeks. You'd hope that, as a lawyer, she would've cooperated sooner.
@pohanahawaii
🤔 It might've been an accident but neither story from the lawyer/last person to see Nancy nor kayak rental owner makes sense. 1) Why would Nancy suddenly, voluntarily take a swim in choppy, unknown water far away from the group, leaving her kayak for someone else to watch? 2) Why would the last person to see Nancy, a lawyer, left Guatemala immediately then hired another lawyer to speak for her instead of being forthcoming or accessible to more questions? 3) What kind of kayak rental company doesn't offer life jackets??? I really don't buy her story that everyone in the yoga group was offered one but refused.

I couldn't wrap my head around the fact that all of the sudden Nancy just decided to hop off the kayak in the middle of the unknown lake and went for a swim. This is a bit too much for a person who just wanted to enjoy a 'peaceful' retreat IMHO.

Some people act differently around their friends. Maybe they were given the option but because her friends declined, she did too.

This reminds of a few years back when few of my friends and I went to Maine. I was on a similar kayak (first time trying my hands at it) and I got too excited rowing it away from the shore. The water was beautiful and the clouds and the houses all looked so surreal. When I reached nearer to the land on the other side, I realized it was full of rocks and I was going to lose my balance and topple over. I quickly turned around and started rowing back. To my surprise I realized I had to move against the wind and the tide this time and it took a lot of energy to row. I kept rowing and it seemed like the kayak was hardly moving. It was the weirdest 10-15 minutes. I couldn’t feel my arms after sometime and my heart was pounding in my chest. I was having a mini panic attack. I kept on rowing like crazy and after some time caught 2 of my friends at a distance in a double kayak. I was so relieved to find them (though I didn’t reveal my panic lol). I wonder what would have happened if I couldn’t get back. It would have been dark soon. With no phone on me too! What a stupid thing to have done now that I look back.

They should make it a rule that you cannot go out without life jackets to avoid accidents like this happening again
@hoodpriestessphilosophy
As an adult, unfortunately, it really was Nancy's job to make sure she had a life jacket, if she wanted one. Her sister does not know anything FOR A FACT. That's a bold assumption, honestly. People surprise us all the time. Maybe she just made a bad decision. It happens. In any case, I hope they can return her body to the family.
@NatureSouldierSC
Swimming in that water?. Really?. I don't believe this at all she appears to be a smart woman. No life vest or why would she risk her kayak. Just off.
@bridgieoh9326
Why isn't IE looking deeper into the yoga instructor and the trip organizers? The group ended the trip early, left the area asap after she went missing. Her room and belongings were gone through by someone on the trip. The instructor and others on the trip didn't want to talk when they returned to the US. Instructor went right back to doing classes when home. Something is very fishy.
@steventan6381
My guess is she accidentally knocked Nancy off her kayak and failed to rescue her.
@rafaelpeguero7586
Wow Inside Edition really went to Guatemala to that lake a few hours from the airport. I know it’s far since I’ve been. Cuddos to Inside Edition and Lisa Guerrero for going through this to find answers for this poor woman
@bricked2343
Wouldn’t the other eight people be able to say whether they were offered life jackets or not?
@Super_B1
You all need an update. They left out the fact that the girl who last saw her disappear, fled the country right away and didn't tell anyone about what she saw until 5 weeks later back in the US, through her attorney.
@yukie_tn
My guess is, the companion's kayak ran into Nancy's and tipped it over and caused her to fall into the water, where she then drowned.
@bean0315
I just don’t believe she jumped into this choppy water and swam
@Lp-ze1tg
Would you leave someone in danger just because he/she haven't taken your advice seriously?
