Ya everybody respects you and knows your a great rider man..top 1% in the world to be able to put on the gate at a national is just amazing. We love your content no matter were you finish...I think you should be able to ride a big bore 2 stroke in these nationals were u will be more evenly matched
Matt, just the fact that you’re giving it what you can, running from the back of your pickup truck, on a two stroke, pure old school! Pure heart kid!! I know I am 100% a fan and there is honestly NOTHING like watching you send it for a qualifying lap on that thing! Nothing! If someone asks me who I’m following in the Nationals, the answer is always first going to be Matty B.!
Thank you I really appreciate that! Having a blast and doing what I can, yesterday went pretty bad for a few different reasons but we live to fight another day. Thanks for watching and being a fan!
Yamaha should be paying him to race that bike! It’s nearly criminal that they aren’t! What he is doing on a basically stock 250 two stroke….qualifying every national against open class bikes, against factory prepared bikes, it’s beyond impressive!
You gotta know what your achieving out there is super impressive and you should be very proud of yourself. There’s maybe 35 guys in the nation that can keep in front of you on a dirtbike. And of those 1/3 of them are dang unicorns riding spare no expense factory bikes prepped by a team of professional preppers and I doubt too many of the rest are doing it every week in the manner you are. Don’t get discouraged. Lots of folks watching and cheering for you!
Thank you I appreciate the kind words! I’m happy with what I’ve been able to do I just know I haven’t been riding to my potential and that’s what I’m really looking for. Thanks for watching and cheering me on!!
Stuck throttle over a big jump is what caused me to break my navicular bone and need surgery. Pulling off is the right move with that one. Way to go qualifying straight in every time this year. I check your results before I watch the rest of the race. Awesome job. Love hearing it singing around the track. Loved Southwick throttle locked wide open and the clutch becomes the speed adjuster lol. Good luck this weekend.
Woo! Great start on both motos! Glad you found the throttle issue. On to the sands of Southwick! Let me hear your war cry! God speed, Matty! Be safe. Have fun. Go fast!
Killer riding !! Hey we had a weird issue once on our 125, and it was the cable getting caught in the "wheel" and the throttle assembly. Usually caused by too. much play or gap between the throttle wheel and housing is too big. Sounded like you let off and it just stuck at 1/3 or so throttle till it released the cable.... We fixed it by having almost zero play in the throttle so no slack can get caught when you release the throttle . Just a thought...... Great vids, kicking ass!!!
Thanks for the info and thanks for watching, I appreciate it! Found some grit in the slide so think that was causing our issue, have a whole new carb on now so she should be dialed!
Holeeee sheet you weren't kidding about the track being gnarly. Long time YZ250 racer here, thanks for doing these and good luck at Southwick ! Glad the throttle issue didn't toss you, pin it to win it no choice ! lol keep em coming
I know this is back seat driving but I wonder if you do any kind of data logging to see where you are in the power band at the end of long straight away's like on starts. It sometimes looks like the bike tops out and falls on it's face. There is that point where the other bikes pull away and it sounds like your revs are pretty high. Just wondering. It doesn't show as much in this start but in the moto 1 start you can see it better.
@@mattburkeen820 is it T-2 or C-12? If C-12 what Mix ratio and oil?........ either fuel will make it run rich and I assure you it is rich on the needle. But if you like it that way it is clearly fast enough with you on it.
Ive pinched my throttle cable between my cdi bracket and my fork tube (2000 CR250), damaged the cable and made it hang up at like 3/4 throttle at Glen Helen. I was like, okay maybe i can make this work, and i tried it for about 1/2 a lap. A fresh, mildly built 250 2t at 3/4 throttle ALL the time is a handful, had to stop before i went OTB. 😂
That sucks when that throttle hangs up, sure hope you git it figured out. That is way too much effort and punishment just to ride 2 laps and then pull off. Good luck at the wick brother!
Get with Matt Denecke at Lectron and see if he can’t hook you up with a new Billatron Pro Carb! I know he tried to at Glen Helen, but the bike owner got it instead!
You should just do an experimental entry (electric ) and rip the starts… 2stroke should be a 300 or even a 400 2stroke .. the 4504stroke make waaayyyyy more power than a 2stroke 250. And they are very smooth to boot.. so I really don’t get the AMA pro motocross… a joke to others that want a diverse option… would be cool to have many options out there but… this is all why I quit watching motocross years ago…the switch 1st from the dropping of 500’s 2-stroke and the other part. Of makinfmg a 2-trike a none competitive machine…. You should run a 300 big bore. And have ama suck it
Dude I have a 5hr old 2022 TC250 and yesterday I just launched a jumped into the face of the next jump for what I suspected is the exact same issue you had. I’m 99.9% sure I rolled off on the throttle but the bike stayed pinned. My front wheel exploded on landing and somehow I got away with just a hematoma on my hip but I should be in hospital with a list of injuries
@@mattburkeen820 did you happen to get any answers about yours or just switch the carb out and move on? I got back on my TC250 today and kept my finger over the clutch at all times and sure enough it tried to take off on me again 2nd lap of practice 😬😬 taking it back to Husqvarna tomorrow I have no idea what’s wrong with it but I’m not happy.
As Jett said after the 2nd moto talking to his mechanic, while they shove the camera in his face, and he said “yeah it was f-ing knarly”. Now I know why they don’t use cameras on the bikes they get so full of mud.
Matty, I didn’t mean anything about the roost. I just thought it was funny that the roost on your lens was being knocked off by roost. I apologize. No choice.
Love what you are doing! Try to analyse the riding. Try to beat the John Deeres at the weakest point more: braking! Brake just a little bit later and don't take their braking points! How many corners you brake? Let me know if it works, thanks! Check out the different lines Rocket use to fight against S. Everts, especially braking at 2:48 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yj5RdTb73bk.html Good luck!
No offense dude, But maybe you need to find a real mechanic. seems like your having a lot of bike issues for stuff that could be prevented.. just saying..
