In the early days of the Clone Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi and his men were deployed to Ryloth after the horrid separatist invasion of the planet, where they were tasked with freeing the local Twi’Lek population from the firm grip of the confederacy. Once there however, a pair of Clone Troopers named Waxer and Boil came across a young Twi’Lek girl called Numa, who had lost her parents in the invasion.
So, the story begins a short while before the invasion of Ryloth, and the Innocents of Ryloth Clone Wars episode, where Kenobi and his men land.
Before the arrival of the separatists, Ryloth is a very peaceful land. Twi’lek children of every colour are able to play in the streets without a care in the world. The markets of Ryloth are booming and people are able to live very happy lives…
On one warm Ryloth morning, Numa begins to play and run around the streets of the main market area of Nubat. Numa is having the time of her life with her red Twi’lek friend, but she begins to run pretty far away from her mother, who warns her to stay within her vision, and not travel too far away.
As Numa moves just a little bit too far away from her mother, he shouts out to her to tell her that her Green friend, Lubo has found a small Gutkurr chick. A Really, really tiny one. And you’ll definitely remember these ferocious creatures from the Clone Wars episode where Obi-Wan Kenobi is forced to tame them using the rare force Ability known as animal bond. So far in Canon, we’ve seen Anakin use the ability at the first battle of Geonosis, to tame a ravenous reek in the arena, Obi-Wan of course on Ryloth and later Ezra Bridger, who tamed the Fyrnock creatures at Fort Anaxes in Star Wars: Rebels. Ezra actually channelled the darkside when he initially used this ability, leaving him tired and drained, although later he was able to master the ability and channel the light side when using it, just like Obi-Wan did.
Following this, Numa’s mother calls out to her daughter, warning her not to touch the creature… but she is quickly cut off by her friend Tronda, who writhes in pain and senses that a storm is coming.
Numa’s mother responds to her friend by saying “The skies are clear , Tronda”, wondering how a storm could possibly be coming in these beautiful conditions. Tronda however is still firmly confident that she is correct, pushing back on Numa’s mother, saying “So say your eyes. My bones say different”. I don’t know about you guys, but I have a small feeling that Tronda may actually be force sensitive, at least very slightly… Tell me down in the comments if you think this Twi’Lek could be force sensitive.
