Super Bowl 51. The beginning of the end for Thomas Dimitroff. The Falcons never recovered from that choke job. 2017 was a year filled with ups and downs, where we ended up as the sixth seed. The only reason we won against the Rams was because of how inexperienced McVay was at the time. Then against the Eagles, Sarkisian’s playcalling did us no favors as the Eagles defense smothered Matt Ryan. Tevin Coleman was one of the very few bright spots in that game. But it ended in failure. 2018 saw us getting injuries to damn near every defensive playmaker, which explains why Beasely never got injured, and our O line, which got Matt Ryan killed behind the line, which ended up with Sarkisian and Marquand Manuel, the defensive coordinator for the best defense the Falcons have has in the 2010s, losing their jobs. 2019 saw the inexplicable return pf Dirk ‘I like to throw the ball all day long’ Koetter. The man responsible for our O line getting hacked before Dan Quinn showed up. And to no surprise from me, the running game was a no show, the defense was getting tired due to the constant 3 and outs, and Matt Ryan was damn near killed again for 2 whole seasons. Julio then left the Falcons, wanting to win a Super Bowl before he retired. Now this last season was a mix for me. We were still rebuilding but while we didn’t have talent, we had more fight. Thanks to Aj Terrell, Grady Jarrett, Cordarelle Patterson, and Kyle Pitts, we went game by game sometimes winning sometimes being blown out. It was a season to determine where we needed help. Our O line was put through the fire, and got exposed, at least 3/5 of it was. Unfortunately for some reason we went after Deshaun Watson, which pissed off Matt Ryan who decided he wanted a trade.

Look, I'm no Cowboys fan, but it isn't exactly fair to characterize their 1982 run as a "last gasp." They were neck and neck with the Redskins in '83 at 12-2 until Washington took the wind out of their sails in one of the most hotly anticipated regular season games of all time. Two years later, they won the division again before losing to the Rams in the divisional round. It wasn't until halfway through the 1986 season that the Landry Cowboys finally collapsed, falling from a 6-2 midway mark to a 7-9 finish.

1:40 love the channel but its always funny. Both plays went to Fitz who did all the work that drive but you gave Palmer the credit we give the qb too much praise when those YAC was all fitz. He could have easily went out of bounds.....but he was hungry.

Fun fact: Frank Reich, the QB for that Oilers-Bills match up, is the current head coach for Indianapolis. He was with the Colts from 2006-2011, including being the QB coach when the Colts made their last SB and Manning won MVP. He was also the offensive coordinator when the Eagles won their first SB title before taking the Colts job. Edit: WAS the Colts head coach. Unemployed for now

Not a coincidence that they left out the Packers vs Cardinals game from 2009. Mentioned it twice, but somehow don't include the highest scoring playoff game in league history and one that went to OT? If they did the little thing at the end about none of the teams winning the title the next year wouldn't be true, since GB did win the title the following year.

This has been great so far and I haven't finished the video yet but I can't believe you didn't bother to mention that when the raiders did go to the Super bowl the following year after losing the Tuck rule game when they lost to the buccaneers the bucks did have the raiders coach from the year before Jon Gruden any pretty much literally knew exactly what the raiders would do against his team and he got sweet revenge against them for trading him. But I do like to bring up that the raiders eventually got their revenge right back on him by beating him in the final week of the 2008 season which caused the buccaneers to miss the playoffs and then they fired him

Overlooked Omission: 'Mile High Miracle' aka 'Rocky Mountain Rainbow' Joe Flacco to Jacoby Jones 70-yard game-tying TD & Double OT Divisional Round Baltimore Ravens 38-35 victory over Denver Broncos on a 47-yard FG via then-Rookie / now GOAT Kicker Justin Tucker - followed by tremendous Broncos run from 2013-2015, beginning with Peyton Manning's TD record-setting season, Denver losing in Super Bowl to Seattle Seahawks, then eventually winning it all in 2015 against the Carolina Panthers in SB 50. How this whole story - along with excellent postseason game to jump-start said epic tale - were excluded is beyond me!

As NJ Cardfan said, it should be 3. The first being Superbowl 43. Then the 1 that was not included, the 09 Cards vs Packers which was the highest scoring playoff game ever. Then it was the Sequel that was included here, the 15 Cards vs Packers. It's a shame the Cardinals couldn't win a SB in each of those seasons with Fitzgerald.

There are some recent Super Bowl champions that did suffer a devastating loss the previous season. SB XLV Packers win after losing 51-45 to the Cardinals the year before. SB XLVI Giants win after the Miracle at the New Meadowlands the year before. SB LIII Patriots win after losing SB LII the year before. SB LIV Chiefs win after losing back and forth AFC championship to Patriots the year before. If the Steelers Colts 2005 playoff games counts then add SB XLI Colts as well.
