Magnificent beasts they were. But as mentioned the development of heavy lift helicopters was the death of the land trains. But technologically it's amazing how friggin advanced they were for the 1960s. In the end that technology revolutionized the mining & earth moving sector (with diesel-electric drivetrains)... 😎🤟
