the fix for this gun is actually so easy even the dahl version give it the ability to stack DoTs again bam good gun with that high firerate its actually not trash cuz you can unload the entire clip and have a x times multiplier on elemental dmg burning away anything
Original version best version. Also, yeah, BL3... definitely the game on my list that I regret ever earning the platinum trophy for. Words cannot express how ashamed I am to have it-and that’s from someone with rhe platinums on ALL 3 _My Name Is Mayo_ games. .yeah...I’ve definitely qieationed some of my life choices after getting each of those.
My favorite hellfire is incendiary maliwan plasma caster and BL3's dahl "hellfire" is one of those so-called "legendaries" (wannabes?) that I throw away after minute of use. it's complete bullsh. it's not the legendary but suddenly it's orange I don't know why :)))) it's often in BL3 :))))
In bl1 it's always nice to get weapon drop with x4 and it's never disappointing, unless it's a thumper but hellfire is great in bl1 in Bl2 i didn't know that weapon, where it drops until I watched some videos and good that in bl3 you can out dogs hit skin on weapons as it pictures it so nicely how it is, right 😂
I prefer the BL2/TPS version because: Not too overpowered so ir can make way for plasm casters, which I enjoy Ammo efficient The most stylish (A luneshined Hellfire in TPS looks absolutely sick)

Only game it was great in was BL1. By BL2 it was way overshadowed by Moxxis good touch which could be gotten at any level easily. And was dogshit relative to other guns by 3
I would love to see the Hellfire come back to its former glory. I agree with what Cashew said, that being the Hellfire is THE Borderlands gun, it just sucks that the weapon gets worse and worse with every new game coming out. It really reflects how bad these games are, based on the Hellfire of that era 😂
Only played Uno and twah.. I love BL1's the best. I miss the sound of BL1's guns period. BL2's hellfire is fun because it looks like a firey soup but the sound of Maliwan guns just make me want to deliberately OD on "hemp flowers" while simultaneously hugging a tree throwing up the peace sign wearing a tie die t-shirt and bandana on. Honestly though with the Evil Smasher glitch the hellfire melts 😂
Oh yeah the Original Nirvana... Also why there are 2 more better splash Damage SMGs by Dahl that overclass it. Not even gonna start with "Ember's Purge is Hellfire of BL3"
BL2 looked the coolest but was a disappointment. Bl1 was definitely one of the top 3 guns in the game next to The Defiler. BL3 hellfire is a tragedy.... As is the story line and writing.
The hellfire was my first legendary in BL1 and still is my favorite from that game. Even though most of my load outs focus on revolvers or pistols, i always keep a hellfire just to melt red bar enemies
Never realized how wicked the Hellfire was in BL1. I always thought it was just another fire SMG. I'll have to play around with it next time I get one.
I think a decent realization about the hellfire decrease came with difficulty scaling. There was no level differential scaling like BL2. Idk how TPS works but I assume it was there too. And in specifically BL2 devs had to think about the application of slag and how much that changed the game. With OP levels and health regen it basically made it so elemental builds with primary DOT damage didn’t exist
TPS is more in line with BL1’s scaling actually with no op levels or extra end game system to speak of which is why it can perform a bit better then the bl2 version on certain characters
I've been tasked with making a BL3 build for the Hellfire, and sadly this video is pretty accurate. I think I can make it look a bit better than showcasrd here, but that doesn't change the actuality of the gun. The gun died in BL3, i hope it comes back as a better gun.

I really don't get why they nerfed the elemental part of it and made it not maliwan when that was the whole selling point. It also looks like what a 5 yr old thinks a cool gun would look like in BL3. On that topic, when Cashew mentioned the butcher I went to loot lemon to confirm if they had made it an smg... who told the BL3 devs what shotguns look like? Did they ask an AI to design their guns?

To me if they did an update for bl3 in 2024 or 2025 or whenever change hellfire back to maliwan it being dahl means it lost any elemental bonuses you can get through parts it was my main weapon in bl1.
I've never gotten the Hellfire in BL1, but that's because I don't really farm for weapons, I usually just use what I get. I have used the Hellfire in BL2, I don't like it, it just doesn't feel like it's does enough damage. I didn't know the Hellfire was in TPS, but that's probably because of the whole space thing so I avoid fire weapons as much as possible. I've used it in BL3, I don't think much of it, to me it's just a gun that's fire element.
Doesn't help that the Pre-Sequel has barely any dedicated legendary drops or drops that are completely unobtainable without save editors or the Unofficial Community Patch.
Can you actually talk about the all the downgrades from bl1 to bl2 . People always talk bl2 like its the god game but not about the mad downgrades. 1. exponential scaling that makes my gun do no damage in 2-5 lvls (time to toss the one of the maybe 10 legendry's ill get in the playthrough, so fun!) 2.the new worse gun generator that only defines if the the gun is a legendary by only the barrel meaning no hybids = less weapons 3. No doble anarchy or mashers (the Maggie doesn't count and is more of just a spit in the face, its worse with the cobra tho imo) 4.revolvers getting removed as a weapon type 5. manufactures not making certain weapon types for no reason make for less over all weapons. 6. Explosive no longer being an element and being relegated to Torges gimmick that adds nothing and just makes their guns worse. ie slow bullets ( i hate torge weapons in 2) 7.Vendors always being worthless 8. Chests always being worthless 9. The gore is worse for some reason. like why? the game is still rated M. There is more but this is just the stuff i could think off the top of my head.
The Hellfire, Sledge’s Shotgun and the Bitch are in all the games. So all 3 of those are THE guns of Borderlands. Unkempt Harold, Conference Call and the Ogre are close. Edit: I figured there were a few more. Mongol and Skullmasher as well. Could argue the Invader, but that one is all over the place. Pistol in BL1, Hyperion Sniper in BL2 and the TPS and renamed Woodblocker in BL3.
I loved and still love The Hellfire in BL1, just running around burning everything to the ground (even fire based enemies) was just so thrilling, laughing maniacally all the way because it was so fun. It wasn't great in the rest of the games which was massively disappointing As long as you were inside in TPS, it was good with Athena BL3 version was so bad, i used it once and then just sold it and moved on
Bd 1s hellfire was iconic. Totally agree about the downgrade. I would for bd 4 go all out with it. Have a stage with a massive volcanoes and a special mini boss that sometimes appears at the heart of the 🌋 with a low chance to get the hellfire looking like it did in bd 1. Have it spread like give sick pistol, only fire, and have the fire do the kind of damage that someone falling into lava would do.
The Hellfire is just like White Beard from One Piece, in its prime it was the best but it get too old and dont get able to adapt to the new era and died when BL3 come out
But when it comes to the Hellfire in BL3, Gearbox was consistent!!! She is there ".. just a shadow of her former self..." - Like BL3 compared to its predecessors... 😂
