This video is quite a different style from usual, I really hope you all enjoy! I'm going to be posting far more consistently going forwards and would love your feedback on this style of content. Very excited for what's to come.
I am honestly so glad dantdm has grown up and kept being a good guy but also didnt just pander to children like ssundee, , he even recognized that people who watched him over a decade ago are now grown up and most are even adults
as soon as I saw that he had a kid, I figure that it was for the best that he took a break with Minecraft. as long as he shows up every now and then, that's all I ever need.
FYI, everybody - this video is somewhat wrong about Stampy. He took a Minecraft hiatus in 2019 but returned in 2020 and continues to make Minecraft videos to this day, which I don't think was mentioned in this video. The series is ending sometime this year but there's still hundreds of videos he's uploaded since his popularity decline that are absolutely fantastic. Keeping up with it weekly is so much fun. He's constantly building awesome mini-games and renovating old areas in his Town and there's always a leadup to a dramatic Hit The Target plot going on as well. He's awesome, and worth more than just the nostalgia. Go check one of his latest vids out and leave him a nice comment... not just a generic one about nostalgia, a proper comment about the video. He's awesome.
I love the lovely world, and his other content is also really cool! I sometimes watch bits of his old streams and its so interesting to see stampy play different games like katamari
I remember watching stampylonghead videos on my mothers phone and just watching all his let's play videos. Back then, life was a lot more simple. And every so often, I'll just checkup on his channel and see if everything is going ok
I watched it almost everyday in its prime, and I kinda miss those days, I have a sort of feeling of loss watching this video, quite sad, due to fallouts and stuff, but the worst one is techno. I really miss those content.
I just did the same thing, I'm happy to see he at least has not QUIT the game. I feel lots of nostalgia while looking at this channel. Stampy is a legend.
i miss techno. he was my favorite youtuber and it’s tough not seeing new vids from him anymore. instead of looking at him as if he lost cancer tho, i like to see it as he beat cancer, but it costed his life. techno will always be a legend, rip alex.
I like to think of it like this: cancer comes from the host. That means the cancer was part of Techno so the only thing strong enough to kill Techno, was Techno himself
Stampylonghead's world was very fabulous to me, I wanted a world like that, something I could lay my eyes on and be amazed by it every single time for years and years. If life were like that, boy, that would be great.
I didn't even watch techno very often, but whenever I read comments about how much he changed people's lives it brings me to tears. He was such a genuinely good guy and he honestly deserved the world.
Minecraft has and always been my favorite game. I remember seeing it in a music video back on 2015 it was the 1.8 bountiful update. I got extremely jealous and excited to play the game. Now, there's people who hypes the game so much every updates, mods, memes, even the realms and servers. I'm really grateful for them.
Rip Technoblade, it’s been 8 months but the wound is still fresh. Many people still go back to watch his videos or streams. He will never be forgotten because Technoblade never dies. As for some of the other creators mentioned in the video I think that it’s kind of good that some creators are going back to the old stuff, it gives the new generation a chance to experience the things we grew up with and the memories that will last forever. I think Stampy Dan Purpled ect are in pretty good places right now. Purpled because he was able to say that he didn’t feel the really want to make minecraft videos anymore and was able to transition successfully into the more irl content, Stampy because he also no longer has such a strong drive for Minecraft, obviously he still creates minecraft videos but not quite as much which is ok because he was posting a lot and it couldn’t have been good mentally, he has also realised that many of his viewers have grown up, Stampy was definitely shaped or helped to shape many peoples childhood, Dan also was a large part of many peoples childhoods, his fans are definitely older now much like Stampys but Dan grew up a lot too. As mentioned he has kids and it’s strange to think that such an important role model and big piece of our childhood has grown into a father of two children. Dan honestly seems like a great father.
With the Nico thing, I had similar thoughts. A lot of people hated on them for it but theyre doing the same thing that the youtubers we grew up with did.
the issue I see with it is now the people that watched the og minecraft are gone or mostly gone from the platform so it's just targeting kids that just want things like cocomelon and colorful things are trying to get popular off of that
Stampylongnead was part of my childhood I remember the build battles recently my friend and me were talking about it and still it’s kinda sad to see the years go by so fast
Tbh, went to see Dan’s channel awhile back, it feels so nostalgic, but also has changed a lot from when we were younger, and tbh, glad that he has been able moved on.
I've watched dan since 2014, he's basically been apart of my childhood. Just to watch him now and see that he has 2 kids and is much more calm makes me wonder if that much time has gotten by.
good video. the way you respectfully talked about techno's passing is very professional, and i appreciate that. good insight and comparison between minecraft today and back in our nostalgic childhoods
This hit hard. I remember going home from school everyday watching stampys videos for hours on end. I wish I could go back in time to the good old days...
incredibly underrated. I am trying to be part of the few "new faces" that are popping up and I feel like I am getting there lmao, Im sure years from now there will be videos about us current content creators as we all leave at some point. This video left me with a sense of nostalgia, remembering the old days where I used to record my xbox 360 screen with a camera on a tripod. It really is sad to see these creators leave the MC content scene, but all good things come to an end at some point, and there are slots open for new creators that will eventually fill these old creators' shoes. Thank you for creating this, enjoy the sub, and keep it up.
You nearly made me cry :( nothing beats the good old days finding Herobrine ,Aether portals ,DanTDM ,StampyLongHead and many more memories Minecraft truly is a part of my life
With Nico and deadfear I love their old content but I understand why they would switch over. There was a gap in the market, and now they're making more money for less work. I do miss their old content though.
dude roleplay is tradition now take rageelixir as an example, he used to do normaly mc content now he moved to rp also some roblox youtubers quit doing their own thing and just moved to rp, it's tradition dude
it's not as bad as you think it is, if you watch the full videos it's sometimes hilarious how negative iq the characters really are, but those f*cking thumbnails they make bro.....
seeing dan younger self in the end made me realize that we are really old.. just started theiring up cuz of it. All the nostalgia hits are too mush for me to handle. Thank you for showing me the good old days again, itslizard.
One thing I really like dan was he knew that he cannot be the big star like he used to be, because he really know that we, grew up and he have responsibility to raise his children
Damn when I saw the blue and red for Cash and Nico, I thought you were gonna talk about Kier and Dev. They have sparked a new age of Minecraft Manhunts and you all should check them out!
I started watching minecraft related stuff at a very young age and since i am not from english speaking countries or where the english content is dominate, i hardly know any of these early creators (i became aware of english minecraft content during the quarantine in july of 2020) and was grown up with other creators. what i truly can say that minecraft is the game that gen z people (and ot only) grew up with despite the language or nationality. I still remember the days when me, my brother and my cousins used to download minecraft on our phones and create our own world to try to beat the game. and we used to talk about some minecraft youtubers we followed back then
I remember one another youtuber like this who was popular for making minecraft build hacks, his name is MagmaMusen he still posts some minecraft realted content but he has greatly lowered his uploads quantity now only uploading once every couple months or so and still gets decent views at around 500K
As a future youtuber, I can say that even though minecraft rn isn't a very popular trend right now, I can still comfort it as my favorite game to play. I'll never forget any of the OG minecraft youtubers they were all my favorite childhood memories
I feel there should be a mention to simulations being ran in minecraft, on channels such as Sword4000, SpeedSilver, and two colossal simulations run on iffy (1k players on hardcore minecraft creating their own nations or gangs). They tend to do well view wise along with their challenges, whether they be 100 days hardcore survival, or surviving purges/ hunger games. Its a different kind of content with more narrative focus, and honestly its really neat to watch how players plots unfold
One of my biggest flexes is that I once got my name on stampy's love garden. I remember feeling so excited and smug about it with my friends and i love that they were jealous. How times fly
Wow.... First of all, I didn't even know most of the names you mentioned... Second, that's super interesting! You do such a good job explaining everything, and it's clearly very well researched. Thanks!
4:35 You’re missing a huge part of MC history here. Reasons why Minecraft came back from ashes in 2019: - Jschlatt’s “A Tribute to Minecraft” video (May 6, 2018) - SMP Live (March 1st, 2019, featuring Schlatt, Wilbur Soot, Carson, Technoblade, AntVenom, etc.) - PewDiePie returns to MC (June 21, 2019) - Minecraft Mondays (June 24, 2019, where Wilbur, Philza and Techno blew up) - Dream making a video based on PewDiePie (/pos), - SMP Earth (November 22, 2019, where most of the future Dream SMP members played together: Wilbur, Tommy, Techno, Philza, Quackity, Tubbo, Purpled, Slimecicle, Jack Manifold, also featuring other members of the SootHouse, and the OGs like Captain Sparklez, Dan TDM, AntVenom and others) In my opinion, Minecraft Mondays and SMP Earth are incredibly important in this story, since Dream SMP was heavily relied on its most prominent members. Dream SMP wouldn’t exist without SMP Earth, and SMP Earth wouldn’t be the same without Minecraft Mondays (where SMP Earth co-founder Wilbur met Philza and Techno to form the improvised SBI Inc group). And Wilbur Soot might not have blown up back then without Jschlatt and SMP Live. By the way, most Dream SMP and some other SMP Earth members are technically still members of the SBI’s Origins SMP: Sneegsnag, James Marriott, Slimecicle, Captain Sparklez, etc. although the server is inactive at the moment, mainly because of the QSMP launching 6 days ago and Wilbur Soot’s tour.
This video was very well done. I have hit this plateau of videos not knowing what to watch on RU-vid but this video just made me think about my child hood so now I’m rewatching old videos, DanTDM, Stampy, ETC and these flashbacks to my child hood are very nice and I appreciate this video.
3:36 - That girl kind of reminds me Agnes that now works for Mojang. She's got kind of the same style of smile, and overall the facial features are so similar.
I remembered watching stampy almost everyday when I was really young. I would use my tv and see all his videos. I remember how minecraft used to be. Nostalgia hits hard nowadays.
some people call minecraft a dumb block game but the things that happened with minecraft the friends we made along the way helped me so much with mental health etc minecraft isnt just a game. its **perfection**
even tho im already grown up i still watch some old vids from dan and stampy because i really miss the nostalgia it gives. Sad to say that people change but im happy growing up watching them😊
9 minutes never felt so short. Great content and well done. One of my favorite things about Minecraft is all of the endless ways that you can play it and I think that that is really well represented in the RU-vid community--there are literally hundreds of niches for all of us to enjoy. I remember back in the YT "dead zone" that for some of us, minecraft never really went away lol. Even if it wasn't trending on YT every single day, it was what we were doing all day, every day, at home, at friends' homes. I'm curious to see where the next wave of new content creators will take us. Cheers to being a part of that 😊
this video was just absolutely beautiful. also did anyone notice the background music is the same as the background music in technos first skyblock video when he talks about what skyblock is?
We all have to admit , even if we take a break from minecraft we come back , either we try a new game we go back to minecraft , even though our youtobers from childhood have been gone , new face’s are up to keep the minecraft community entertained . Minecraft is not just a game , its a life journey , A story , A second part of life . We all love minecraft in the bottom of our hearts ❤️ From Cjx love you Minecraft
I still remember hoping on my ipad and going to youtube kids and hearing "Hello! Stampey here, and welcome to another minecraft lets play video! the good ol days.
RU-vid deleted my comment. For anyone interested about Stampy he has recently revived the Lovely World series and now posts weekly. This is possible now because he was successful in porting the world to Bedrock, and now uses Minecraft RTX to make the world look more lovely. Someone claimed it would end at 800 episodes, but this was false. Stampy has stated on the "blue bird" as of a reply he made on Jan 23.
i cant listen to the song at the end of the video, it was the song technoblade used in his first hypixel skyblock video and its one of his most famous moments and it just reminds me of how youtube will never be the same without him
Oh, memories... 🙂 I remember when I played Minecraft for the first time on 2011 and the game has become one of my favorite games that I ever played in my life and it gave so much of childhood. And now, I decided to save old things from Minecraft including: mods, texture packs, game versions, and more. Also, nice video! 👍
You know this was an amazing video, I don’t normally have a good attention span and when I find something not in my interest I click away, but here I am, watching the whole video, agreeing with points you’ve made and such. Heck I didn’t even look at the comments once while watching, I was on fullscreen, just listening and reminiscing on the past. This was a great video, and has earned my subscribe!
Idk why I always go back to Minecraft. The early days I watched Stampy Dantdm and popular mmos, plus a couple team crafted stuff. Then I randomly started watching popular mmos again in 2016. Then 2019 I watched pewdiepies Minecraft videos and 2020 dream smp. 2021-2022 i watched lifesteal smp, and right now in 2023I like watching pvp content creators. It’s crazy how over 10 years, even if it’s off and on, Minecraft always holds a special place in my heart
Cash and Nico are up and coming but their content shifted very similarly to Aphmau’s where it’s heavily focused on kids, even to the point where the thumbnails are VERY similar.
