What Happened with James Kennedy & Raquel Leviss' Dog Graham | Vanderpump Rules Doggie Drama

First it was #Scandoval and now it's a #Grahamdal?? We don't usually talk reality TV here, but when the story about a dog belonging to James Kennedy and Raquel (Rachel) Leviss, reality TV stars from Vanderpump Rules, hit the news, we had to look into it. There are two sides to every story and we're trying to get to the bottom of this one.
What's most important is how Graham is doing and what caused his behavior issues. Have you had a dog act out in this way after a break-up or divorce? What about another drastic change in your dog's life? We'd love to hear about your experience in the comments and how you were able to help your dog cope.

Just watched the VPR episodes when James & Graham are reunited & later takes a trip to Tahoe. Graham seems so happy to be back with James. Pets get “emotionally used” as a revenge factor in some breakups. I had a friend who was getting a divorce. Her estranged husband stole her three yorkies & held them hostage demanding she agree to his divorce requests before he would return them! She was emotionally distraught! Eventually the police got involved and the dogs were returned since she was named as the owner on the adoption agreement. So a happy ending, but people can be cruel each other when emotions are high.

Yes, it's so sad that people do that to these poor animals. Graham seemed really great in that episode, I just watched it, too. From all we read about his behavior, I didn't see any of it when Lala (and others) went to pet him. James' reaction was so sweet. He clearly loves that dog so much. The humane thing to have done would have been to have Rachel's people reach out to James and see if he wanted the dog. If he does have aggression issues, I can only imagine that they got worse as he was in limbo for months. I hope he's doing well under James' care. I would venture to guess that Lisa Vanderpump would give him all the support he needs since she really seems to care about dogs and their welfare.

Excuse me sir, James cried many times because Raquel didn't let him see his dog and the fact he took him back in a heart beat after someone contacted him, I think it is safe to say no one in her family contacted him to take the dog, they would rather abandon him before calling James. That family is disgusting for not even trying to reach him for the dog's sake. He would have been my first call before dumping "the problem" on a shelter. Also a rescue organization that "rescues" doodles and couldn't handle him?! Worthless.

We agree that James should have been the first person contacted when Raquel decided she didn't want Graham anymore. How heartbreaking it would have been if Graham had been rehomed only for James to find out after the fact. We hope Graham is doing well and that his issues are resolved. I have mixed emotions about the renaming since James actually new him as Graham. James says he wants him to have a fresh start, but he on a reality TV show.. He will always be Graham to most of us. I have rescued four puppies over the years…. renamed two since their names did not fit their personalities & they were so young. Renamed the pug Dobie to Dexter (perfect fit for his being a bit crazy & very witty) & Sparky to Murphy which fit him so much better. He was a border collie/papillon mix & did not respond to “Sparky” at all.
