Two beautiful young people, may I offer some advice. Your health (physical, emotional, mental) is your greatest need and your first priority. Slow down, eat healthy food, exercise, stretch, relax, sleep, do this everyday (each is 24 hours long, write it out on paper) and work no more than six days take the seventh for each other. If you don't your health (your selves) and relationship (each other) will suffer and degrade (weight gain, high blood pressure and hurt feelings). People love your handicraft and they will wait for it patiently if you only give them their number in the que and your reasonable pace. Stick to your decisions some will attempt to persuade you with more money and not deliver said payment. You may lose up to 10% of your customers but gain your sanity, health, contentment of your love for each other. The later is what truly matters. I offer my blessings to you both.

I've just realized why people buy art. They want a piece of the artist...of their energy, love, care. That's what I think. That's why handmade things are so beautiful and feel so good to wear or look at. I really didn't understand it before..now, seeing all you put into your work, I really feel that each thing you create is special and worth the money you ask for it.

From one business owner to another... Oh dear Jonna... You and Johan look so so tired :( I know exactly what you mean when the pressure of your business is more than you can control. The pressure of only being one person can be too much. You are beautiful and have given the world such a gift. Take advice from me. I ended up letting my business consume me. My mental health began to suffer and I ended up in the hospital. The elders talk badly about the technology for a reason.. I am coming to understand about their knowledge. We are humans, not robots, and we must unplug and sleep, rest, and take care of ourselves first. I just love you Jonna! Thank you for sharing your gifts with the world. But you & Johan do yourselves a big favor and rest. Take a break. Enjoy the new cottage and dissappear for awhile. I hope you both are truly enjoying your life and not too busy recording it, you get lost. I am a professional photographer and know EXACTLY how that can be. Blessings & love to you!!

Just a small observation: if you have so many orders that you can hardly cope, you need to raise your prices. It's simple corporate finance: if supply is lower than demand, prices will increase. But you can also use price to regulate demand: a higher price will lower demand. And if demand is too low, you can lower your prices. The above is true for most things, but for some items (most likely those that are seen as luxurious) the opposite is true: if an "expensive" perfume is too cheap, less people will want to buy it. If the price is high (enough) more people will buy it. Whether or not your jewellery falls into this category is something you should probably find out, to adjust your products and prices accordingly. And just a final note: don't _ever_ compete with price as your unique selling point. If you must, you can lower your prices, but it is better to use a higher quality (possibly purer silver, or more unique designs or whatever it takes to stand out from the crowd) to compete. I think it is better to have low sales volume (in number of things sold) at a higher price than more sale volume (more items sold) at a lower price, even if your profit in both cases is the same.

This vlog made me feel sad for you. I know you are doing what you love, but at the same time there is so much demand for what you create that it has taken over your life. I am glad to see you are still making time to take lovely walks. Remember to stop and take those walks, rest, and create your own time. There will always be such a demand for both of you and what you do, but if you try to do so much it will loose its magic. Do what you can do and then make time for yourselves, because that is the most important element to your work! Sending you both light and happiness!!
@marcia8789

I think that they are having "their time" while they are working in what they love. People don't use to understand that when you do what you really love you are always having "your time" and even vacations have another meaning. It is a "pleasurable tiredness", because you know that this is the price that you have to pay to receive all the abundance that the universe is rewarding you with. Their business is growing, because that is part of their amazing energy and hard work. This is part of the process, a caothic moment, but I am sure that they will manage it with grace... Maybe hiring other people to help them. I wish all the luck and happiness for you two, Jonna and Johan.

I suggest you and Johan should demand higher prices for your art, so you don´t have to work so much and still make a good living. I think that people will buy your art anyway, even if they have to pay more and wait longer for the delivery. Please take good care of yourselves and don´t stress yourself too much. You are both so precious.

she seems to care about keeping things accessible for everyone. I agree that we don't want to see them burn out but maybe the better way is to just have moratoriums on orders periodically to give them breathing room. Not pricing people out. I was a potter for over 40 years, I understand what are you talking about. Sometimes you have to make your own choice, what is the most important things in your life. In the 40 years of professional potter I did 22 years of very hard work from morning to late night 7 days of the week. The rest of the 40 years I decided what is more important for me, I had some time I took it more slowly. Now I’m retired, but not 100%, when you are an artist you can’t really retire from your craft. I just play with Arts and Crafts and enjoy it. In the end I’m very happy how I did my life, I had everything, very hard work and enjoyment too in my professional life. My craft was my life, now it is a part of my life. The most important thing I can advise to you, you the one has to be happy with your life what ever you do. Sometimes we are not happy, disappointed, tired. Search in your life for good things it doesn’t have to be big, things around you, a bird sound, cloud, a beautiful object, it will change your mood and help you to move on. 🦋🌸🐝🌞

Jonna I really like your and Johan's work, but you need to take it easy. I know you love what you're doing, but when you have busy months and don't have time to cook or eat, it's not good. You're like all the city people that are always busy, you're just busy in the countryside, but in the same way. Don't let it burn you out. If Johan has too many orders, just close the possibility to order things, just for some time. I don't know if you are so busy because you need the money or because you want to make all people happy, but it's taking a toll on you. I wish you all the best

Jonna, firstly may I congratulate you on gaining the audience you have, and managing to make a living from your passion. I write this message to both you and Johan, as I think it is equally relevant. As a business owner, I can relate to the challenges you are facing as you grow. Whether one is prepared for that business growth, or not. When you love what you do, it is very easy to get caught up in work. After all, you enjoy it. However, it’s important to remember that running a business, just like life, is a marathon, not a sprint. While i understand you left the city to escape the typical 9-5, as a business owner, time management, boundary setting and self discipline become hugely important to maintaining you physical and mental health. If you find yourself working late into the evenings or into weekends, it is an important indicator that something needs to change. I recommend for the next 4 weeks, get used to closing the laptop at a defined time, say 6PM every day. If things are not completed, leave them uncompleted, until the next day. There is always work to be done. It will be hard at first, however make it your goal. It will force you to prioritise your tasks more effectively. It will force you to delegate quicker. It will force you to ask for help and out source things. It will force you to say ‘NO’, until you have the resource capacity to say yes. I know many artists are free spirited, and are turned off by structure and discipline, however I guarantee these are vital life skills and the two can absolutely co-exist with careful planning. It’s all about finding the ‘levers’ in your business. How to turn the demand up, how to turn demand down. How to turn delivery capacity up, and how to turn it down.( Hire people or outsource) It all depends on what you want to achieve and the capacity your business has. Putting the prices up, as suggested by someone else, on custom items is a great way to buy you some thinking time. Or, place an item as ‘out of stock’ with a ‘notify me when in stock’ button and email people when you are ready to go again. Never feel guilty about turning away or deferring business. It is called good business management. Good luck to you both.

Hello Jonna! I don’t know if you’ll see this but today, is a supremely happy day for me! You see, I am a young artist and I loveee making works. Recently I was actually offered money to recreate one of my pieces on a larger scale! (Generally I make portraits of people and I do a lot of surrealism in greyscale and pencil, on the realistic side. VERY different from Jonna’s work) This was an amazing thought to me and I began to practice a LOT. I have expanded into many many many styles and mediums since then and actually am learning the art of pottery! Art is my true passion, and it is so so rewarding to finish a piece. I have a few pieces that my parents thought were good enough to hang on our walls and I am so proud of those which are now framed and will be hung soon BUT I had never tried an abstract/modern painting. I drove to the art store and picked up a huge canvas and some pouring medium. Your work and the inspiration you took from nature was so inspiring to me! I had to try it! I live in Florida so I based my painting off something that has always struck inspiration to me, Hurricanes, and I studied a few of your techniques. My painting looks a lot different from yours, but I wasn’t trying to make it look like yours. I was just inspired by your love for this style, and I had to try it. And my parents loved it! They have hung it as a statement piece in our staircase! This is the first painting of mine that they have ever hung! I just wanted to say thank you, for pushing the boundaries of my art with a new style and medium and for making me a better artist!

Please Jonna make time to eat properly. My body is diseased and ruined from not eating properly. I was not fed right as a child and as a young adult not taught how. Now 62 and because of thinking any old thing is OK so long as I'm fed has caused me much trouble. My bones from lack of nutrition are having diseases. My body can't fight off infections like it should. I have many health problems. I'm not going to go through all but I will tell you I have 7 problems and proper diet early could have done me like a miracle. Also if you fix your food and do it together to speed it up and finally sit and take your time to enjoy then your stress will nearly go completely away and your tension will evaporate and everything will get so much better. Really please. Eating right and taking time to use one hour start to finish. From when you get the pan out to when you wash the pan. It will add a sense of closeness and a satisfaction that only the family meal can do. I know you don't have time but some of our greatest founding families of America have done biographies of each family and the one single thing they all had in common was that they always sat down and took their meals together. And cared enough to see that it was done every day. God bless you both and God give peace and calm into your home. Both of you looked very tired. A good meal, a snuggle and a nap does a body good.

I wished I could paint like you (!!). I used to make my own Christmas ornaments. I'd make them out of flour & salt & a bit of water...all rolled out flat & thin...then I used plastic "detailed "Chilton Cookie cutters, & VERY IMPORTANT TO PIERE A HOLE AT THE TOP BEFORE BAKING...FOR CHRISTMAS TREE HANGING. ONE TIME I FORGOT TO PIERCE A HOLE IN OVER 46 ORNAMENTS...ITS OK BECAUSE THE DOUGH IS A BIT LIMP WHEN THEY 1ST COME OUT OF THE OVEN...YOU CAN TAKE A SHARPENED PENCIL & PIERCE A HOLE QUICKLY. ONE TIME IT WAS THE NEXT DAY I SAW THIS. UGH(!!); SO MY HUSBAND LET ME USE HIS DRILL BIT TO PIERCE THE HOLE...BE CAFEFUL TO NOT CRACK YOUR ORNAMENT OR YOU'RE SCREWED. I USED A SURGICAL GLUE ONE TIME TO ADHERE MY BROKEN ORNAMENTS...IT HAPPENS. BUT THEY DONT LAST AS LONG. MY TV KIDS SHOW CALLED "SESAME STREET" CHARACTERS & MY T.V. PROGRAM CARTOON SHOW CALLED "TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLE'S; SOLD THE QUICKEST. I SOLD 150 ANGELS (CAUCASIAN) & DARK SKIN ANGELS 150 IN 20 MINUTES AT CHURCH ONE CHRISTMAS. I ONLY SOLD EACH ORNAMENT FOR $1.OO FOR THE LITTLE ORNAMENTS & $1.50 FOR THE BIGGER SIZED ORNAMENTS. I DID THIS FOR $$$ FOR OUR FOOD & CHRISTMAS GIFTS AS WE WERE QUITE POOR. I NEVER FELT IT WAS RIGHT TO SELL THEM FOR ANYMORE THAN THAT. I'D MAKE 50 ORNAMENTS AT A TIME PER EACH STYLE. IT TOOK ALOT OF TIME TO MAKE...ALOT OF TIME TO PAINT & TIME TO DRY WITH SHELLAC SO THEY DIDNT COME OUT GOOEY. IT ALSO COST ME ALOT OF $$$ FOR BUBBLE WRAP & MY PAINTS. ID USED OLD CUPS TO RINSE MY BRUSHES OUT IN WHILE I PAINT. I NEVER PAID ANY ATTENTION TO THESE COSTS TO PREPARE...SUCH AS THE FLOUR SALT OR WATER TO MIX MY DOUGH...NOR MY TOILET PAPER OR PAPER NAPKINS TO WIPE MY BRUSHES DRY BEFORE DIPPING INTO ANOTHER COLOR PAINT...NOR MY "TIME" IT TOOK TO MAKE THESE ORNAMENTS. THE JOY I GOT...SEEING HAPPY FACES BUYING MY ORNAMENTS FOR SUCH A MINIMUM COST MADE MY DAY A HAPPY ONE. I NEVER GAVE AWAY TINS...THATS HOW I PACKED THEM WITH BUBBLE PACK...IF I GAVE AS PRESENTS...THEN ID PUT THEM INSIDE LARGE DECORATIVE TINS. I MADE MY DAUGHTER TWO OF EACH ORNAMENT IN CASE ONE BROKE...BECAUSE THEY'RE VERY FRAGILE...FOR A PRE- WEDDING GIFT. I HAVE OVER 150+ DIFFERENT ORNAMENTS. ALL DIFFERENT SEASONS...EASTER ORNAMENTS; HALLOWEEN, THANKSGIVING, VALENTINES DAY, 4TH OF JULY 🇺🇲; ITS ENDLESS. THE FINISHED ORNAMENTS CANNOT BE STORED IN A GARAGE OR DAMP PLACE SUCH AS HOUSE RAFTERS OR THEY'LL MOLD OR DISINTEGRATE IN SIZE...ITS VERY WEIRD. I'VE HAD MY SAME SET OF TWO EACH IN CRATES SINCE 1976. I'VE ONLY BROKEN 2 SINCE THEN (!!). I JUST REMADE MYSELF ONE...NEXT TIME I MADE NEW ORNAMENTS ; BUT YES...IT'S BETTER TO HAVE 2 OF EACH WHEN HANGING ON A HUGE , TALL CHRISTMAS TREE. I'VE SPRAY SHELLAC THEM OVER 3 TIMES ONLY.. NEVER SPRAY THEM OUTSIDE WITH YOUR MOSQUITOS CUZ THE MOSQUITOS EAT THE SHELLAC & DIE ON TOP OF THE ORNAMENT. WHAT DON'T THOSE LITTLE BOOGERS DO...RIGHT (?!). I DO SPRAY THEM IN A WELL VENTALATED ROOM.. & THEY DRY SO BEAUTIFUL IN THE COOL SUN...NOT DIRECT SUN CUZ THEY BECOME CLOUDY. WHAT I NORMALLY DO IS SPRAY THEM IN A WELL VENTILATED ROOM & WAIT FOR THEM TO BE ALMOST DRY...THEN I RE LAY THEM ONTO CLEAN WAX PAPER ... & LAY THEM IN THE SUN...THEY TURN OUT LIKE GLASS . BUT IN THE WINTER..WE DIDNT ALWAYS HAVE SUNNY DAYS SO I JUST LET THEM DRY IN A WELL VENTILATED BEDROOM. IF THE HEATER IS ON...THEY DRY WELL...IF IT'S A COLD ROOM..THEY STILL TURN OUT PRETTY...IT JUST TAKES A BIT LONGER FOR THE SHELLAC TO DRY. NEVER TIE YOUR ORNAMENTS WITH THIN RIBBON UNTIL ALL IS COMPLETELY DRY. I NEVER USE RIBNON ANYMORE I INCLUDE A HOOK (YEP! I NEVER FACTORED THAT EITHER IN MY COST); ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE BUBBLE PACK WITH SCOTCH TAPE OVER IT. IF YOU'RE WONDERING "HOW" THE CUSTOMER SAW WHAT EACH LOOKED LIKE BEFORE THEY BOUGHT EACH ONE...I HAD A PICTURE OF EACH ONE IN A PHOTO ALBUM. THEY NEVER ASKED TO SEE WHAT IT LOOKED LIKE. HAD THEY DONE SO...ID J7DT OF HAD TO UNTAPE THE BUBBLE PACK & RETAPE IT. NOBODY EVER ASKED TO SEE THEM PRIOR THOUGH. FOR THE PRICE THEY GOT THEM AT...EVERYBODY WAS HAPPY. I SOLD ALL EACH CHRISTMAS. ..I ONE DAY. ID TSKE ORDERS TOO SO UD KBLW IF I GAD TO MAKE EXYRA. IT WAS TIME COMSUMING...YS I EORKED FULL TIME...& WAS A MOM. ..SO I NADE ONLY 20 PER ORNAMENTS EXVELT THOSE ANGELS.. THAT WAS PRE-ORDERED. LOTS OF WORK TOO ADDING BY HAND THE PAINT INTO THE DOUGH JUST RIGHT...& KNEADING IT BY HAND JUST RIGHT. MY HANDS GOT CUTS ON THEM FROM THE SALT IN THE DOUGH...KNEADING ALL BY HAND TO MAKE THE DOUGH SOFT ENOUGH WAS ESSENTIAL. ..VERY IMPORTANT SO I TOOK ALOT OF TIME DOING THIS. THEN ID ROLL A PORTION (COVERING THE REMAINDING DOUGH IN A COVERED GLASS BOWL WITH A TOWEL). THEN ID ROLL OUT A PORTION OF THE HAND MADE CLAY DOUGH ONTO A SLIGHTLY FLOURED SURFACED BREAD BOARD. I HAD NO MACHINE...JUST MY 2 HANDS. SOMETIMES ID ASK MY HUSBAND TO PLEASE BE MY MUSCLES, & SQUEEZE & KNEAD THE DOUGH BEFORE ID ROLL IT OUT...THAT HELPED SOOOOO MUCH (!!!). I WONDER WHAT A BREAD DOUGH MIXER WOULD OF BEEN LIKE BACK THEN (???!!); THEY DIDNT HAVE THEM YET...UNTIL THE END OF THE 1970'S...BUT WE COULDNT OF AFFORDED THAT AT ALL. ONE YEAR; I DUPLICATED A CONSTRUCTION PAPER HANGING FROM THE CEILING FROM A HOOK...A REALLY CUTE "RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED -REINDEER" HEAD/FACE MY DAUGHTER MADE IN 1ST GRADE. I MADE A DOUGH TEMPLATE OF HER CUTE REINDEER SHE HAD A STRING TO HANG IT ON A HOOK IN OUR LIVINGROOM. I JUST EYEBALLED HER DESIGN & AFTER IT CAME OUT OF THE OVEN...I USED A PENCIL TO DO THIS (EYEBALL DRAWING EXACTLY HOW HER LITTLE REINDEER'S FACE LOOKED...THEN I PAINTED IT...& I'D ALREADY PIERCED A HOLE IN IT...I ALSO MADE A HUGE ANGEL & A CHRISMAS TREE & CONNECTED THE 3 WITH DOUBLE STRUNG DENTAL FLOSS (WE WERE VERY POOR SO I COULDNT AFFORD FANCY STRING ETC AT THAT TIME..I SPRAY SHELLACED IT & I HUNG IT EVERY YEAR AT CHRISTMAS. I DID THE SAME WITH HER ART WORK OF A GHOST, A PUMPKIN, & A RED DEVIL. I HANG THEM EVERY HALLOWEEN. I MADE INDIVIDUAL HOLIDAY DECORATIONS AFTER THIS TOO....JUST FOR US. ID KEPT THE ORIGINALS; BUT THE PAPER HAD ALMOST WORN OUT & WAS SO DISCOLORED OVER THE YEARS. IM SO GLAD I DID THIS. I JUST BUBBLE PACKED IT REALLY WELL & PUT INTO TUPPERWARE BACK THEN...TO STORE WITH OUR HOLIDAY DECORATIONS. I DON'T PAINT ANYMORE. MY HANDS ARENT SO STEADY TO PAINT THE INTRICATE, DETAILED DESIGNS I PAINTED LONG AGO...PLUS MY EYES AREN'T SO GREAT...LOL(!!) I WEAR READING GLASSES AFTER I HAD CATARACT SURGERY. USE IT OR YOU LOSE IT...DO ALLLLL YOU CAN WHILE YOU CAN. IT DOESNT LAST FOREVER. WHEN I PAINTED...I JUST USED KIDS WATER COLOR PAINTS OR FLOURESCENT POSTER PAINTS & CERAMIC , SMALL PLASTIC, POP TOP BOTTLED PAINTS. I DOUBLE LINED ON OLD COOKIE SHEETS ... Then I paint each one with old eyeliner brushes because I couldn't afford sable "fine" paint brushes. I think the eyeliner brushes worked out much better...as they're much thinner. Where a face or skin tone would be used...I'd put a flesh tone of light to dark paint...into the dough & blend it well before I baked it...for skin tone...into the dough & bake my ornaments. For an example...making my Angels...I'd simply paint over the flesh tone dough after it was baked...2 - 3 coats somtimes...NO big deal..then after the ornaments dried...I'd spray them with a high gloss shellac on top...ALL the ornaments would be laid on top of wax paper or tin foil. The next day...I'd put them on clean wax paper or tin foil...& spray the opposite side. I never painted the detail on both sides. The backside would be a solid color...that coordinated dominate color with my design. Then the 3rd day...I'd place them onto more clean wax paper or tin foil...& spray one last coat of high gloss shellac on the top side. When all was dry; I'd bubble pack them each individually. I'd place all in plastic crates or decorative Christmas cookies tins (for ours or my daughter). Ive had to respray some with more spray shellac as 5 years went by because the shellac will start to lose it's sheen.. THATS ALL I PAINT...NOTHING LIKE WHAT YOU DO THOUGH...WOW (!!!) ARE YOY EVER BRILLIANT...AS WELL AS BRILLIANT IN MAKING YOUR OWN PAINT TOO. You're such a treasure to watch. Both you & your Husband are finding a WONDERFUL "Balance". I'm 65 now. My husband & I (in Heaven now) were married September 2nd 1973, just 2 weeks after I turned 18. Sadly he passed away on our 39 Wedding Anniversary [1973]; (September 2nd, 2012)...of Colon Cancer . Don't get yourselves SO tired you forget to hug one another & assure you get in at least 6 hours of sleep. For years I did it all on 3-4 hours of sleep. It "WILL" CATCH UP WITH YOU EVENTUALLY...& WILL age you...& wear you both out. LOL(!!) ITS ALL WORTH IT THOUGH TO A POINT. Take time to smell the 🌹roses; ($$$) the money is important but NOT that important. I hope that makes sense. You'll do it your way but speaking from experience...the time we lost sleeping together snuggled ever sooooo close...is AND WAS WAAAAAY MORE IMPORTANT NOT JUST HEALTH- WISE...BUT THE QUALITY & QUANTITY OF TIME YOU TWO WILL HAVE TOGETHER VERSES WHAT ALL YOU LOSE FINANCIALLY OUTWEIGHS THE ($$$) MONETARY PART. YOU CAN NE-V-E-R GET BACK THE GLORY OF THE HOUR OR THE FLOWER"; AS THE SLENDOR IN THE GLASS; (A WALT WHITMAN POEM); WHEN YOUR LOVED ONE HAS PASSED AWAY ... MONEY MEANS NOTHING IN COMPARISON TO TIME YOU TWO NEED TO BE WITH ONE ANOTHER...FOR YOU CANNOT PLACE VALUE ON LOVE OR TIME TOGETHER VERSES MONEY (!!!). THE MONETARY VALUE CAN ALWAYS BE MADE BACK AT A LATER TIME...OR NOT. I THINK YOU'LL AGREE THAT LOSING MONEY IS NOTHING COMPARED TO TIME BEINGS AWAY FROM ONE ANOTHER. YOUR LOVE IS IRREPLACABLE (!!). MONEY IS JUST A MATERIALISTIC "THING"; YOU CANNOT BUY LOVE OR TIME. KEEP LOVING ONE ANOTHER. YOU'RE BOTH SO VERY BEAUTIFUL & SOOO VERY, PRECIOUS & LOVING (!!)

Another great vlog, your videos have such a positive and calmin effect it's hard to describe. So thank you for that to both of you, Nanook included of course. Two things I wanted to say, about the business. I myself am also an entrpreneur and only recently have I learned to say No occasionally. The thing is when your business starts to grow it feels good, money comes in. But once it starts to affect your health, your sleeping and eating habbits, your relationship - it's a sign you really need to hear and act on it. Limit your workload, limit your hunger for business, for clients, for money. You two are more important than any business success. Try to find a balance it is super important. Another thing I wanted to say, I was super happy to see your painting bid go above 10.000 USD and was so thrilled for you. How in the hell is eBay set up in this way that the bidders are not legally obliged to honour their bid. So pissed at this, I thought that the bidder HAS to pay what they bid. Frustrating and super annoying. So sorry you had to go through that rollercoaster ride. Any way keep up the good work both of you and looking forward to your next step ❤
