This is part one of a two-part series on what happens after you get approved for social security disability insurance benefits and supplemental security income benefits. There are three places where you can get approved: application, reconsideration, and the hearing. At any of these levels, you may receive a notice of decision. At the hearing level, the decision comes from the administrative law judge. At the lower levels, it comes from disability determination services. Congrats! I literally just got approved today, 3-14-24. After being denied 5xs over a course of several years. I cried and shouted. I feel like I won the lottery, I feel relieved. Finally, someone takes me seriously and believes me. 🥹🙏🏻🥹

Hello Sir I received my benefit verification letter today and it said i was approved for $2330 monthly pay starting in 3 months and they found me disabled over 2yrs ago on may 23rd 2022. The question and problem is they said i wouldn't get paid until july 2024 and with no back pay, but the letter says " We found you became disabled under our rules on May 23, 2022 " Can you help me to understand this matter or what should i do. Thank you.

I've received my Notice of Decision from the ALJ, but I'm still waiting for my Letter of Award. I was approved on January 10, 2024, but my login shows payments suspended. I live in Kyrgyzstan. How can I get my SSDI payments unsuspended? Is it common for accounts to be suspended after approval in this process?

my on set date is 05012020. I applied for SSDI on 092821. I got unemployment from 040120 to 073121. If I am approved for SSDI. Will my back pay be offset by my unemployment? I live in the State of Texas

If you apply for disibility you can't get or apply for unemployment. Unemployment means you are seeking a job...

@@darylbrookins4273 I applied for unemployment first. after it ended then I applied SSDI. I'm 66 and just got my back pay. My journey started on 03/08/2020. ALJ approved me fully favorably on 03/26/24 with an AOD on 05/01/20. Will I be subject to a CDR when my FRA is 04/14/25? The Letter I received didn't even say Notice of Award. It just looked like the standard letter SSA sends out. Also can I start the ticket to work program?

Your benefits are determined by how much you have paid worked and paid in. You can work some, but it depends on how much you are being paid.

Maybe you can tell me something . I received my SSI check pay the lawyer out of that and for her getting copies of my medical records I think it was like 5126 that's what I paid my lawyer out of my backpack and and they owed me $12,000 my SSDI and they kept that saying a case I owed them but I didn't owe anything but the lawyer is there anything I could do about getting that appreciate you replied let me know something maybe we can work something out about getting it.

I was just approved! I looked in my bank account to check something and saw an amount deposited by Social Security and called and found out I was approved and they told me sometimes that happens before you get your paperwork, I won on my first try within 6 months which is virtually unheard of these days I hear. I’m 58 years old.
