Ive done this too. Nox800, Park2, 1 tone, recovery 7, disc in only 14-18. Either MULTI or 20khz, dig everything that sounds point-like. Loads of fun, great way to find 12 or 14 k rings.
Was just thinking about doing this after not finding too much anymore and getting mostly skunked at the old lake park last night. It’s a sign that I should definitely do it and thank you for that! Lots of the beaver tail type of pulltabs in the 15-16 range here as it had a motor camping park from the 20’s-‘05. Interestingly, most newer pulltabs I find ring up in the 17-19 range and the best find ever on a signal in that range was a man’s 10g 14k ring with a 3/4 ct diamond set in a white gold topper on a 19. Too bad the precious didn’t come out on this one but there were some pretty interesting finds nonetheless.
Great hunt! I'll definitely take the pull tab challenge when I go out next, it's been so wet in Vancouver this week I'm behind in my videos. I just got the Equinox 900 as well so it'll be in the next video for the first time, seems like pulltabs are a 30 on it.
Pulled an 18k w/ 9 small diamonds @#13, is on the wife's hand, she stole that one, also 2 14k womans bands, small but @ #14 , had a 14k w/ pearl ring an 8, had a solid 2 on the nox, was just the pendant but was 10k w/ diamonds and a sapphire.. found it on line is 1,999$ US... had a 3 once, was a chunky 4 gram 14k pendant, turned my sensitivity up and found the broken chain a foot away at a #1 ... I could go on but you know, gotta dig everything!!!
well, if you want to find more gold ring dig 8-22 and I got a pile of gold rings. No joke. I am the cherry picker. I don't dig for coins, now when 29 comes up I dig them only because it might be silver other than that you could say I know just about every Pulltab in the book. So, I retired that Nox 800 with that little ^' sniper coil bad to the bone. I bought a Deus2, it blows that Nox away.
Great little hunt! I still can't figure out why remove the pull tabs from the cans. I imagine it makes drinking out of the cans easier, but I don't do it. I don't feel the need and don't have any problem drinking out of a can with a pull tab still attached. But if we were all alike and all did the same thing life would be pretty boring.😊 I forgot it was Sunday until I saw your new video. Thank you for posting it. You are my favorite detectorist and definitely not boring at all. 👍
Just subscribed. I will be doing the 50 pull tab challenge today weather permitting with my Equinox 900 and 6" sniper coil or 11". Also have two XTerra Pros we unit and loan out as well. I don't understand why people pull the tab off?? The reward for me is the occasional American nickel after digging more than a few pull tabs. Good challenge, Ryan. I'll do it next time I'm out.
