As someone who naturally sleeps with my eyes slightly open, I can relate to some of this. I wake up every morning with dry eyes and when they tear up to start re-moisturizing, the tears burn like they're acidic for several minutes until the moisture balance is restored. Not fun!
You probably won’t see this, nor will most of your fans. But I just wanted to put it out there that you make millions happy, including myself and you should know. When you reacted to the fan video, you cried. And this shows you are worlds better than any ‘fake’ RU-vidrs and shows that you are not afraid to show emotion. You are amazing and you help all everyone of those 23 million people to get through whatever they need to. Many youtubers I used to watch when I was younger I have stopped watching now but you have stuck and that is extremely special. You are incredibly special both as a person, a RU-vidr and, as I am sure you have and will be, a dad to your child. Whether you see this or not people should know this, Thank you (P.s I will copy this to his newer vids when they come out so he has a chance to see it, I promise I am not a bot) (this was originally from Bagely)
as a filipino it was so fun seeing your reaction to paolo and allan k lmaoo the video you watched was cut into parts so it wouldn't be boring but for the first part was live on tv and after their broadcasting time, they still continued live on facebook and didn't blink for so long. fyi, there wasn't any cuts live, the facebook and tv both went live at the same time. it's been so long now lol
I can confirm that these people did the staring contess is from the Philippines. Also: My female cousin always sleeps with her eyes open. Even if you touch it, she won't blink. Not until you wake her up
Me neither, I remember one day after school I saw an upload notification from his main channel of the "new nose" reveal. I was laughing so much when I saw it. I kinda feel the same for this one. 🤭😆
Dan, it's your glasses. The reason we blink is to get dust particles and stuff out of our eyes. The glasses stop more dust particles from getting in and the result is being able to blink less with them on.
Hey Dan, you have always been my one of my biggest inspirations. I've been watching you for 7 going on 8 years now, even though I've never really had a father figure you've always acted as one for me :) To watch how much you've grown over the years and how you got married and started a family really inspires me. I hope you have an amazing rest of your life and thrive like you've always done. Stay Safe :)🙏
Here, I have a good life hack, if your ever in a staring contest, and desperately need to win, here is what you do... You begin as normal, but every few sections you look down briefly (without moving your head) your eyes will remain wet for as long as you do this! This happens because blinking basically "waters your eyes" and keeps them from drying out. Your eye lid does this. Looking down puts your eyelid over your eyes, but it doesn't count as blinking. How do I know all this? Hours of staring contests. The minute I learned this I have not lost
Well, this was both interesting but also worrying! I almost freaked out when you went through the process of what could happen! But in all honestly, it was fun watching you reacting to videos that inform us about things!
Dan, I'm pretty sure the reason they know this was because someone sacrificed themselves and didn't tell the world about it. 7:25 Also, you're right Dan. As of 2022, there is 8*10^9 people (8 billion, aka 8,000,000,000), so with some basic math we can see how absurd this fraction is. We have 1/20 = x/8,000,000,000, we can simplify to 1/2*10^1 = x/8*10^9. Using the proportion method, we get to 8*10^9/2*10^1 = x, meaning 4*10^9 = x, aka, 400,000,000 PEOPLE! That number is way too high to be a good estimate. A fairer estimate could be per say, 1/2*10^6, or 1/2,000,000 people.
I have actually held a staring contest for a max of 4 minutes. I have experienced up to the burning sensation stage which is when my opponent finally blinked. We tried it again and I lost around the 3:30 minute mark. Edit: 4 minutes is the longest I've gone, idk how the other people went for over 30
No u haven't. It may seem like it but it's only because you have been focused on something. Blinking is something that happens automatically like breathing. You probably strained your eyes from looking at one thing for too long, thus when you looked away your muscles freaked out.
Dude I remember when I was 5 my older brother would always watch your videos and I told him that I hated your videos😂(sorry) but two days after I started watching every single one of your videos and I couldn't miss one till this day I haven't stopped watching and never will😁 Thanks for always making my day Dan.you never fail to amaze me dude❤❤
Me and my brother's eye take veeeeeerrryy long to dry out we once did a staring contest for 18 minutes and 48 seconds and yes I did time it. It ended because there was a third party interruption and we were too impatient to start another to see who would win
To answer your question "what if we didn't have eyelids?" I opened my eye wide and placed my hand over my face, cupping it, vs. My other eye, and it felt like my eye was closed.
Funny how Dan watched Eat Bulaga! From the Philippines 🤣😂 I remember watching that but switching from channel to channel because of course it was boring, then I came back (To Facebook because their broadcasting time on TV was over) and it was on the 1hr and 5-minute mark still flippin' going I was like how the actual **** did Paolo do that lol, and I watched through the rest because he was looking desperate to blink, definitely the most epic blink I've seen on tv 🤣
Hi Dan, my name is Ian and I am 13 years old. I started my own 3-D printing business called Dapper Designs. I have been a huge fan of you for a long time and I was wondering if you would like some of my products. Thank you!
the longest I haven't blinked is around 30 minutes. I'm not sure of the exact time, but it was a car ride and I knew around how long it took was 30 minutes, and I didn't blink for the whole ride granted it was dark, but there were a lot of cars with their full beams on, so I think I still did pretty well EDIT: the fifty seconds Dan did were a breeze for me, I already stopped blinking without noticing and still haven't
This was really interesting. I'm like Dan, I wonder how they figured this out. Did they force someone against their will to do it? Did they use a coma patient? Is it all complete guesswork? How did they come to these conclusions?
