It's well known that Rit Dye on polymer frames doesn't go very deep. In this video we experiment with a grey Geisler frame to figure out just hot deep that is and also what the dye looks like if we stipple the frame after dying it.
Just very lightly and very quickly. Hit those hazy places with a butane torch or torch pin. And that will slightly melt it and get rid of the haziness, but be careful, don't melt it. 😂
i did a fde p80 last week with chocolate brown and it really came out like chocolate with a dark reddish red...makin it dark brown burgundy. it had to grow on me first but now all assembled with polished pins and a light grey/polished titanium slide it just looks awesome. i had mine inn for about 3mins and it turned really quick with a gal of water and half of the synthetic rit dye. i will use a grey p80 and will use a lighter green and pull it when it looks od green...hopefully😂 i gotta say,your tone is way tooo dark for my liking but still looks nice to look at. since the 1st try was way too quick i will add only 2 caps this time so it dont react like crazy. i might even go with a light blue on that grey frame...so many options tho.
I agree with you. The green I ended up with is very dark and very vibrant. The more I've had it the less I end up liking it. I've also played with chocolate brown and agree that that is a real winner of a color! That is the great thing about these dyes though. You can re dye as long as you go darker. I may re dye this with that chocolate brown one day.
You will not be able to dye a black frame. The original color has to be fairly light for this to work correctly. Your end color will always be a combination of the dye and the original, sadly.
There are no Geisler specific add ons that I am aware of. I know someone was working on a Maxwell for it but don't believe it ever released. Lots of other stuff will work like mag extensions, pic rail accessories and the like.
