I love Reneel man his honesty is so admirable

Huge respect to Reenel for being honest and open and trying to learn about other people. I think he made a great point about being in the same boat at different ends and I'm kinda disappointed in Lewis for shutting it down and not thinking that he had anything to improve on himself, like he's trying to take the high ground. If you don't want to even try and help Reenel educate himself and get more comfortable around homosexuality due to your prejudice of him, you also have a lot to improve on. You shutting people out who aren't comfortable with homosexuality isn't going to help them change their opinions.

Unpopular opinion: there was nothing wrong with Rennel unfollowing Lewis on IG. You’re allowed to take yourself out of uncomfortable situations. I think you can accept someone as a person without agreeing with all aspects of their lifestyle. He wasn’t rude or disrespectful at any point 🤷🏾‍♀️

Lewis came across as really entitled and Reenel should be proud of himself for being the bigger man. We don't have to accept everything but tolerance is something to be applauded. Reenel is not gay and so very understandably didn't want sexualised photos of men on his IG feed. He shouldn't have had to explain himself in my opinion. Lewis clearly has no idea of just how homophobic Caribbean and African cultures are - the fact that Reenel is even trying to understand is a big deal.

I get how Lewis feels and I've been there, it's hard to be understanding to people when you've been a victim of hate and rejection because of your sexuality but Reenel got caught up in a situation he's probably never imagined himself in and sure everybody probably have their own opinion on what he should have done right, but you gotta give him credit for trying. He reacted to what he was feeling, came to Lewis and explained himself, the man is open minded and is willing to learn about people who are different to him. If this is not the text book example of a decent human being than I don't know what is. Reenel I felt your sincerity and we need more of you in this world.

to people who don’t understand Lewis’ pov when he was talking to Reneel, you should know how it feels like to hold back a part of yourself your whole life and finally having people who don’t give a shit about how you act and then comes a person that makes you hold back again. Like it’s hard for Lewis to just understand Reneel’s situation like that.
